Hey i was wondering if anyone could help me out. I recently took my a5 apart to clean and oil it. It worked fine. Then a few games later the stock broke and ever since then it has been stutter shooting (stutters every 5 shots or so) so i took it apart again to check all the o rings and oil them. Everything looked perfectly fine. Even checked the cyclone. All perfect. So now it stutters alot less ( once every 60 shots or so ) but i cant seem to figure out why. Its really annoying. Any help? Than

CO2 tends to decrease the life span on your marker. HPA CAN be used on ANY marker. I have yet to find one that does not accept HPA

Um yah no. You can't push 23 bps out of an A-5 that way. Maybe if your hopper was full then you could achieve it for a little while, but the paddles make the paint jump so bad at those speeds, especially with half a hopper, that I would figure you had ALOT of shots skip during this test fire.

@NIGHT2PWN No it's not true, Nitro (NO2) is for cars Nitrogen (N2) is for Paintball Markers (which is virtually the same as HPA) if you use actual Nitro on a paintball marker, you will either kill people or destroy your marker's internals.

to all of you people that are looking to spend alot of money on gun mods such as shrouds, scopes, and other useless parts that are just for show, you shouldnt get them. after a while you will probably just end up taking them off of your gun anyway. all they do is add weight to your gun and make it more bulky. also costs alot of money. the only reasonable thing to buy is a stock

@paintballkid23z I agree - all the non-performance mods just add bulk and weight and that is exactly why I don't have any. But the cyclone upgrades are a must if you have an e-grip. Barrels also help. the low profile hopper makes the marker more sleek and less likely to get hit by a paintball. The squishy paddles are a must, period. I haven't broken a ball since installing them. I could go on and on.

@dlevite81 Depends on what marker you guys have though, dont give me shit about having a Rap4 T68, but using it and mounting a scope or red dot on top of the carry handle, it works just fine, it is not for show it is actually functional, just my two cents. So please dont call them non "functional"

@CJpilot316 it runs at about 600-800 psi it is not as good on air as most other guns, but if ur field has a air fill station on the field u should be good unless you are planning on doing huge scenario games

Yes.

They are very different.

Not for the A5 because it will not be able to keep up with a HALO, plus it was designed to use excess air to power the cyclone.

This makes me really miss playing paintball. I loved woodsball and using my T98. My philosophy on paintball was that it's all in the angles. If you maximize the effectiveness of your shots by fire and maneuver, you can get your average down to about 10 balls per kill. I loved making it into a mind game. But, growing up means it's tough to stay into it now. Not enough time, not enough money, etc. Just another reason growing up sucks.

@peraltish It sux to be poor, I know. The cheapest way is to buy a base stripped down marker and upgrade it yourself. That's what I did and I think you learn more about it and don't have to make a big initial investment. Plus you get the exact upgrades that you want. Just my 2 cents.

@XMw2Fanboy I would recommend either the A5 or X7. The 98 is not even in the same league as those 2 markers. A lot of the parts are interchangeable between the base A5 and X7, but the main difference is the ported cyclone piston housing on the X7 allowing it (according to Tippmann) to shoot 17 BPS as compared to the A5's advertised 15 BPS. But it doesn't really matter because you will want to replace pretty much the entire cyclone with after-market upgrades in order to get the best performance.

@XMw2Fanboy Another difference is that the battery on the e-grip is a lot easier to remove on the X7. Just a little complaint I have about the A5's e-grip. Really, it just comes down to your preference and how much you want to spend. You can get an A5 cheaper than an X7 that will perform just as well if you have cyclone upgrades. I would highly recommend getting the squishy paddles and if you have an e-grip get a ported piston housing as it will make a big difference in cycle rate.

@VioletMauve I use CO2 quite a bit and yes, frost does appear between the tank and the tombstone if I am shooting really fast, but it has never "frozen up" to the point of not working. I have never even noticed any decrease in performance while using CO2. The only drawback I see is it gets really cold and shoots out a frosty cloud that can be annoying. The A5 handles it well. That being said, I prefer HPA but I live in a small town and no one sells it around here so I use what's available.
