Yeah, I live in the capital district and near this fort. It was and basically still is, right on Lake George. It was horrendously rough, forested, and swampy terrain.
The total death count, not including prisoners that the native smuggled to Montreal, most of which were later returned through French diplomatic negotiatins with the native nations, was around 186 at the most, including the men killed during the siege. Lastly, where is Lake George?
And the "massacre" that followed was not a fire arm assault on British columns ready to defend themselves. The objective of the natives was to obtain scalps, prisoners, and loot as payment for their services to French and which they felt denied by a formal European surrender. To do this, they typically used tomahawks and knives. And the attack began at the rear of the marching column where the women and children were (yes, there were women and children).
The position of the fort was specifically chosen by Webb and Loudoun for the surrounding features including dense woods and sandy beaches from which they built sand banks for protection. There was a camp where over 2000 British regulars and provincial troops resided since the fort could only be manned by 500 men at a time. Where is that?
I get what you're trying to do here with an animated re-enactment. It could be a useful tool to portray historical moments, but the historical accuracy is WAY OFF! There were not open fields. British and French soldiers spent months clearing the surrounding dense woods just to get 30 ft. wide roads for transport through the landscape.
ive been to the one they rebuilt. It's very nice and has a lot of history there. from 8:00 am on they fire a cannon every 15 mins. i wold go there not just for the fort but for lake george which is fucking amazing

@0264370 Lake George is in Warren County New York. It's fairly close to Vermont, directly between NYC and Montreal.
