unfortunately..it's basic knowledge and easy to do the light beam and change the stroke from pen tool to brush, but what everyone would really like to know is how to get the stroke so sharp. i don't think designers like divulging that information because they're scared of competition.

Thats a big negatory ghost rider. - Only click the simulate pressure button if you want to simulate pressure - as in tapered from one edge to the center gradually and then tapered back to the other edge. Leave this un"ticked" ("checked" for americans) for a solid bar.

@Billi3jr You can make the skinny line by checking simulating pressure by stroking the path, if it doesn't work go on shape dynamics of the brush window (click window > brush to get there) and make the minimum size whatever you want the minimum size to be. Blending, I don't know, probably have to experiment with that one.

To help with erasing the beam I usually bring down its layer opacity so that I can have a better view of the arms outline. Then I would change the opacity back when I'm done :)
