  • how is the rest of the album?

  • @whatchamacallit6 It's pretty full on to be honest ,,,,and I personally didn't like the addition of their older songs as I had been listening to them for years before the album. I just wanted to skip them. I'd need to ask the opinion of someone who hadnt already heard the older songs as to how the album flowed.

  • i love the album art...that could be in a museum....great music aswelllll

  • These guys are fantastic! I don't think sumerian records has failed once yet..

  • Be sure to check into @TheMusicCafe channel for an exclusive, live & unplugged performance by Dead Letter Circus, enjoy! #musiccafe

  • Absolutey brilliant music!

  • the picture seems very meaningful to the song when your high

  • I almost wish the production was more raw. It's very slick. I wonder what they're live show is like?

  • @barnslave honestly the singer isn't nearly this good live. At least from what I've seen. But still very good!

  • @bigzooka he was perfect when i saw them! haha

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds very "Tool".

  • @barnslave Not really, now Rishloo sounds like Tool

  • too bad the rest of the albus isnt this good =(

  • wooh! aussie pride

  • Just saw them last night. His voice is fucking gorgeous <3

  • Just saw them in St. Louis in a small venue with about 40 other people. The bassist means business. He's legit.

  • i just realized that you uploaded this on my bday. awesome fuckin song.

  • one more thing: is he singing the outro with some distortion and delay on the vox?! how fucking cool is that!? Ill tell you! Its freaking genius!

  • dude this band is so outstanding, his voice is something else

  • Can't stop listening 3 hours later.

  • this is supreme BRILLIANCE!!!!

  • So freaking epic.....love this shit. Dead Letter Circus = epic win. Just turn up the volume and forget everything else. do it.

  • 3 people didn't divide.

  • this is the only other band i've heard that thrives off using excessive pedal delay besides the birthday massacre..both bands use it greatly for their sound too

  • God damn this is a good song.

  • A Perfect Circle and Deftones cummed all over Minus The Bear while he was masturbating to Karnivool.

  • Thisis music very very very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this band . Theyre so good. Listen to their songs going to sleep <3

  • saw these guys, they were brutal, i met the singer.

  • Staop analyzing the song and just listen, enjoy, relax.

  • agree, band has serious potential - but all the songs sound the same

  • This is far the most unique and creative band I've ever found.

  • signed drumstick, chsat with kim....best fukingg gig everrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This sounds like it should be on 103.7 in Houston. Regardless of which radio station it is, it's a radio station, they aren't going to play anything that is breaking the mold. Stone Sour, Breaking Benjimen, 3 Days Grace…Dead Letter Circus.

  • The most beautifulest crafted song, pure brilliance!

  • they remind me of Karnivool

  • @cassarNOVA19 not as good.

  • @lemonsys I disagree :)

  • @TheBluesMuse You think Dead Letter Circus is better than Karnivool? I totally disagree. Karnivool has way more variety and they do a lot of things I never heard any band do. Lots of dead letter circus stuff is catchy and satisfying but not nearly as original.

  • @lemonsys It's all in the ear of the beholder! Karnivool are more experimental yes, but there are things about their music that grate on me....'it's a neeeewwwwww dayyyyyy....my whooooooooole liiiiife" Just completely annoys me really.....there is some seriously cool guitar going completely off in that song and yet all that the vocalist can do is is say a drawn out "It's a neeeeeewwwww daaaaayyyy over and over.....it feels the vocals are just put there as an after thought for the sake of it....

  • @TheBluesMuse I know what you mean. and with that song id agree. but as a whole no way. i would agree DLC has better vocals that are more crafted but thats just because vocals are really the focal point of the band. karnivool has a much wider focus and in a lot of ways vocals are hardly a focal point. as a pianist and a guitarist and a drummer and a pianist myself i guess i kind of like that. but of course you are right, it is in the ear of the beholder.

  • @lemonsys I'd just like to add that not one person has ever agreed with me on this....my hubby reckons I'm a crazy bitch...but hey I just don't like them as much as DLC......but yeah they are talented and heaps better than 90% of the music out there....just not as..as you put it...satisfying :)

  • @TheBluesMuse i agree with you. DLC definitely have the edge over karnivool. i like both bands but still no comparison. DLC are better.

  • for some odd reason this reminds me of an Australian Emarosa, in a good way.

Amazing band, just found out about them from Billy Martin of Good Charlotte

  • The new album is fantastic, Seems like so much of the good music is commin from over seas!

  • sometimes i feel like this song is talking to me directly it give me such goosebumps its such an amazing song and the vocals drums guitar etc go together so well x) if this is the future of rock i wonna listen to it ;D

  • ive been listening to dead letter circus for years since their first ep and their debut i couldn't be more happy with it. Seriously they out did themselves. They did short tours with linkin park and i know once this album is released in america is will explode. These guys can reach an amazingly wide audience. I listen to insane metal but love dead letter circus for their drums, atmosphere, bass, and well they just have a unique style of their own.

  • sooooo epic!!!!

  • I really want to see a progression of modern rock, and i think that rock has mainly faded out--at least in the past 10-15 years with a few exceptions (tool, etc...) This band is certainly shaping the future of rock by letting it evolve into something totally awesome

  • love all

  • love

  • i like this song, im glad i found them

  • 2:52

    Just...wow...

  • Epic phucing song...

  • 3:28 onwards = epic singing

  • Amazing voice

  • definitely one of their best songs

  • Amazing song!

  • Saw them live with Muse and overall they pretty awesome, but this song was EPIC!!! Everyone really got into it when the double kick started

  • @soccerfred01 I saw them with linkin park (got biffy clyro for muse) and i agree they were pretty awesome can't stop listening to them now! They really got the crowd going the best ive seen by a support group!

  • This is probably my favourite DLC song

  • Band's songs all sound the same to me. Will that change over time?

  • @Aspenshadow721 Probably not.....i suggest you go listen to something else. :)

  • @TheBluesMuse I guess I'll go back to listening to Trophy Scars. Dammit I thought I'd found something good.

  • @Aspenshadow721 Ah, maybe you just need to listen to a band that all their songs don't sound the same, like The Cure :3

  • @Kittielove30 I was actually already considering checking them out. I shall take your suggestion!

  • @Aspenshadow721 I can kinda see where you're coming from dude, I think it's more down to their vocalist than anything elseh.. I remember thinking a similar thing the first time I heard meshuggah, it is not a case of being uneducated but rather uninitiated. Now I rate Meshuggah as the best metal band in the world along with Opeth. And in terms of prog-rock these guys and also Karnivool are making a name for themselves, and are arguably up there with Oceansize and Radiohead etc

  • @schpleeb It's funny that you mention Opeth because I felt just that way about them when I first heard them. I never fully understood why. It was probably because I had no prior experience with their kind of music, but eventually (after I heard Damnation and got a feel for their style) I warmed up to them and now they're awesome. So you're saying I should give these guys another shot?

  • @Aspenshadow721 go for it, I couldn't really reccommend an album to you though as I don't know much about this band myself. If you haven't heard Karnivool I would listen to them first, in particular the album Sound Awake, which is a masterpiece

  • @Aspenshadow721 You sound like you're deaf.

  • @timangy How do I sound like I'm deaf? Have you heard what I sound like? Is it even possible to recognize someone as deaf by how they sound?

  • Comment removed

  • @Aspenshadow721 Really..?

  • @Aspenshadow721

If you think all songs sound the same, you probably just don't understand the music. I also find a lot of jazz stuff sounding exactly the same. Real jazz listeners then tell me I don't get it. I might get it overtime, but I can't be arsed. You maybe can't be arsed either. I got this music the first time though. It's been super original and catchy from the FIRST freaking listen, and the album still grows. That's extremely rare. To each his own ofcourse.

  • @SinisterSkip Trust me I understand the music fine. I actually really like this song, and I don't think it sounds bland as you might expect from me by reading my comment. I just wish the band would change up their formula a little more because for me the delay soaked guitars and soaring vocals get a bit tiresome after a while.

  • @Aspenshadow721 Im sort of curious to know of a band whose songs all sound different. Generally a band locks into a style, because thats what their fan bass has come to expect and thats what they know how to write. Sure maybe they change a little over time, generally in attempt to replicate previous successes, and OCCASIONALLY to explore something musically fresh but if you take almost any band, you have the same singer, the same genre, the same influences, similar songs.

  • @lemonsys Try The Dear Hunter. Their new album, The Color Spectrum, is a collection of nine EPs each representing a different color with four songs on each EP. Listen to the vast difference in styles in Never Forgive Never Forget, Progress, and Misplaced Devotion. All of them are completely different while still remaining exceptional songs. All I'm saying is that it is my opinion that this band does not explore as much as it should and therefore their music tires out quickly for me.

  • @Aspenshadow721 I will check them out. Thanks by the way. I guess the point I was trying to make is that the average band and many less average bands have a lot of songs that sound the same which is why I have never found it fulfilling to listen exclusively to any one artist. Variety is THE SHIT.

  • @lemonsys Hey no problem! I love recommending music. And yeah I agree. I band can have a tremendous style, godly musicianship, and lots of catchiness, but they will never spend much time on my playlist without some variety. Trust me though, there are plenty of bands out there that have that level of variety, you just have to find them.

  • @Aspenshadow721 doesn't that just mean you've got a short attention span? I don't see anything wrong with having a consistent style throughout an album.

  • @Aspenshadow721 I suggest you try out the Mainstream HipHop garbage.

  • @mkitch21 No thank you.

  • @Aspenshadow721 actually i changed for me. an example is disturbed, i hated them and i thought all their songs sounded the same, then it just changed and i now like pretty much most of their songs... the same goes for other bands as well

  • good....no dislikes.

  • @MrInsignia16 apparently that changed over 24 hours, lol

  • I love Tool, Deftones, and Chevelle. Its the progressive and mood envoking sounds that do it for me personally. I started listening to Karnivool a while back and subsequently found this band and this song specifically. I agree, this is the future I want to see. I woud love more music like this. It is so passionate and complete. You don't have to agree, just wanted to add my two cents, to each his own.

  • @SMP08080808 I couldn't agree with you more! Tool Deftones and Chevelle. Heard a Karnivool song today and saw this song there. Now I just can't stop!

  • @OliviaWaczkowski

Good call Olivia, check out C.O.T.E. by Karnivool. That song will blow your mind. =)

  • @SMP08080808 - I'm hell into Chevelle and Karnivool. Those 2 plus DLC is my 3 fav bands! :D

  • @SMP08080808 If you want a band with emotion, harmony, class, style, and a great step in a good direction, then look up Painted in Exile, no where near this, but they incorporate Jazz, Rap, and piano into death metal centred music. How they do it though, that's the brilliance to it all. Check them out!

  • i cant find this album in the U.S.

  • @theidiotsfightingonyoutube I think it's funny how people try to sound intelligent in berating each other to some how make it seem as if the knew what true good music was. Maybe you guys should spend your time listening to this great artist instead of harboring all of these malignant feelings towards usernames on youtube... it might be different if you actually knew the people you were arguing with, but as it stands its like clapping at the end of a movie: f****** stupid.

  • @thejoe8007 ......you must be a nihilist

  • word up Hzqi

  • Tool started it all, Karnivool comes next, then here's DLC. THEY ARE ALL GREAT! And They Are All Comparable. I think Karnivool sounds like Tool, and DLC sounds like Karnivool.

  • Wow, I really like this! Reminds me a bit of Karnivool

  • @winterSTU Haha just read the comments below - too many prog-gayboys around.

  • Nobody should even mention karnivool, TBE, dead letter circus with tool because none of those bands have pushed the envelope, and thats what tool is all about creating something that hasn't been created before. The only band that pushes anything is karnivool because of how progy they are, i mean even vocaly you cant compare to maynard/tool, but that doesn't mean that they're not good bands.

  • Whoah, you can refer to Tool, that must mean you know everything. Liking Tool doesn't mean you know more than other people, neither does it mean that your opinion is any more valid than the next person's. Why argue about music? Sure there's bands out there that are more talented than others but for god's sake just listen to whatever you like and enjoy it.

  • aussie bands awww gotta love em

  • I have to also say that this album has no skip tracks. I've been thrashing it, even on long drives (mind you, i always thrash new albums) and i still haven't got sick of a single track on the album. for me that is a good sign of a great release!

  • would love to see 'em one day, i love their sound.

  • this is a good album but not as good as butterfly effect final conversation of kings

  • @zone1480 Like TBE can even touch the awesomeness of Tool. You know if you are musicly adept enough to copy Tool then power to you....but TBE aren't. Although I do love TBE very much :p

  • @zone1480 Na T B E aint really a TOOL ripoff, although I used to think so before listening to T B E songs, Clints' voice is up there, not Maynard but closer than anybody elses in Ausi rock at least, Kennys' voice (Karnivool & B O T) is good but clint has more of a range.

  • One of the best bands in the Aussie music scene - can't wait for my Deluxe edition to arrive.

  • It's about time this awesome band some props!!! They deserve it!!!

  • ive known about these guys for 3 years and im soo happy they are finally get the attention they deserve and they finally release their first full lenght. DLC owns everything right now :D

  • @thehumanabstract00 Luke taught me drums for 3 years.

  • Great song, I hope to see this guys way up in the charts.

  • i have seen dlc 4 times now, and they are still up there with my fav bands i have ever seen with RATM, Karnivool, Muse, Janes Addiction, Faith no More and the Mars Volta

  • this is incredible...

  • Dead Letter Circus is the stuff!

  • Wow - this sounds like the future of rock to me.

  • @Babarundi Because it is brother!!

  • @Babarundi WOW I totally agree and have been thinking the same for some time now

  • @Babarundi

Australia, the future of rock :)

This song is FREAKING AMAZING! Every time I go workout and lift weights, this song is my pre-workout shake right there, I get warmed up instantly and want to smash shit up :) Instant energy, amazing! DLC = the bomb. This video deserves a million of views.

  • If the rest of the album is as good as this, then bring it on!! This track is phenomenal. Killer band!!

  • seems to be the common theme, heard it the first time, enjoyed it and decided to listen to it again.....now i cant stop.

takes time to get the flow of the song, the meaning and the energy i think.

    much appreciated song. THANKS!

  • i agree, this shit grows on me like stubble!!!!!!

  • the more i listen to it the more i love it.

  • FIrst listen was good. Second listen exploded!

  • Next in Line is one of my favourite songs of all time....although I can listen to DLC's entire catalogue without that flat spot that I experience with so many albums....even with Tool who I think are phenomenal I still find myself skipping a song or two on all their albums.....so DLC is a first for me in that regard which is why I think they must write their music especially for me..... And it's all because a young fella on youtube doing COG drum covers had a Dead Letter Circus T Shirt on :P

  • @TheBluesMuse

could you post up "Big" :P?

    it'd much appreciated.

  • @TheBluesMuse yeah i saw that clip too! amazing.

Also, i feel the same way. NEVER have i felt the need to skip passed a song... they are phenomenal, and especially when u get the chance to meet them. And Kim is a great bloke! Even shares convo's with ya :D Stood next to me, and we watched Sleep Parades gig. Was magic :D

  • Sleep parade rock.

  • @TheBluesMuse

If you're skipping songs on TOOL albums, your senses are skipping desserts.

There is no filler on any primary TOOL album. LATERALUS is among the most comprehensively solid things I've ever heard.

  • @Hzqi What about 'Message to Harry Manback', or 'Die Eier Von Satan'? There's a couple more on Aenima alone. Though I totally agree with you that they aren't fillers, after a few(hundred) listens...

  • It depends how you listen. You could say the same for anything after a few hundred times. But anything good just needs space for a while. Those tracks are like mood adjustment for what follows. That's why I don't even consider IONS to be filler. Filler is a bad track serving no purpose other than to pad an album out. These tracks are there for no reason BUT purpose. Von Satan is a good listen depending on your perchent for jarring industrial arrangement, and an inside joke.

  • @Hzqi Filler perhaps the wrong word. Boring and must skip would be more suitable. It's entirely personal though....you guys can have your desserts and I'll stick to the meat and potatoes. :p If you could get more specific I'd call those songs a weak flavoured sorbet...which takes ages to eat and is pretty boring when you come to think of it. :)

  • @TheBluesMuse

Sorbet is for toffs who need their money confiscated. Look, just buy some ice-cream or frozen yogurt you wankers. Opting for ice-cream without the cream and with a french name does not make you exalted or unique. That's kind of where I draw the line on my prejudice. I can tolerate any demography except the sorbet eaters. Deport them. I'd hate to sound judgemental, so it's fortunate I'm only writing.

  • @Hzqi Good reply :P

  • You're a Toff is you think Sorbet is French, its ITALIAN superstar

  • @MarauderxMischief

ROFL! I love being lectured for a change (Over a jest no less).

You're explained the heritage of Sorbet, and you're calling me a toff?

Do you put this much effort into making a selection at the counter? Do you *abuse your sample privilege?

  • @Hzqi Nah Its part of my job to know this shit, though the difference is universally known. So unless you were under a rock these past few years, you should have known. Though I can't blame you, I guess everything tastes the same, when your head is up your own ass.

  • @MarauderxMischief

It's part of my ironic charm. I like to avoid the obvious things, which is why I'll spare readers the chore of reading an apt description of you.

Nice job stringing together two hackneyed metaphores in one feeble attempt at a burn, inspired by an oversight pertaining to a pair of bordering, and closely resembling European countries, however.

Here, let me try. Considering what's on your chin, we might be tasting the same thing. Which Sorbet tastes like, anyway. *shrugs

  • @TheBluesMuse I have to agree with you man. They are talented, they make some interesting material, and they understand song structure.. but many of their songs just lack an interesting hook for me.

  • @TheBluesMuse HAHA I agree. I'm American, I love Tool, but honestly they really do get wrapped up in themselves. A lot of their songs are a little too experimental. I mean, to die-hard Tool fans, it might sound like they are speaking out to you, but to me it just sounds like they are trying to figure out the problems of life with long delayed guitar sounds and primitive drum beats. Don't get me wrong, I love Tool, but to me, they are distinct enough to just love their radio songs.

  • @TheBluesMuse favourite songs of all time? you dont listen to much music do you. this is pretty average.

  • @bacelines I said favourite. I didn't say they are the all conquering genius band clearly superior to everything else, did I? It's my favourite not yours so why would you care? Go waste your energy elsewhere.

  • roguebmx58 - interesting, funnily enough according to itunes i listened to 'Alien' for the 100th time today!!! (Not to mention the amount of times i listen to the cd in my car) How many times you listened to Next in Line???

  • awesome song love Next in line on itunes its my top song on play count

  • True, I love the initial sound but the more you listen to it the more you love it. Especially love from 2:46 and 3:23. Best band EVER.

  • @ingstring

yer the more i listen, the better it gets, Every time.

    Fucking Love it, A grade

  • WOW!!
