Is it hard to go around corners and have you ever fallen out of the cart? also I have a 70 pnd newfie mix and he has on and off back issues, is it hard on the dogs and do you think he could do it? :D thanks and Rollie looked fab!
Getting Rollie to work up his gaits in summer is always a challenge... Sometimes I ride my bike next to the cart and hold the reins, and he trots along nicely with me. I also cart Rollie to go take care of some of the dogs I look after, and telling him that definitely perks him up. He goes into a fast working trot when he knows we are going somewhere exciting!
The sulky is fun to ride that fast, though I really have to hold my balance and lean into turns.
Carrie, Rollie is magnificent! Was he running so beautifully because he was chasing the car or are you able to ask him to run like that whenever? Daphne Lewis
is that dog a berner collie mix? the colors on the fur look alot like a berner with the collies head body and fur? please reply:)

He's pure Collie, which usually come in sable but he's a tricolour.

Yes, Rollie is pulling the simple sulky, which I love for it's light weight and easy pulling. It runs very smoothly!

Can you work with the car driver to teach speed commands? Trot and Hike, say? This was the first time I saw the simple sulky at a lope.

So he will run more readily in cool temperatures? Yes, the simple sulky has a narrow wheel base. Do you find you hold on to the handle bars?

Hi Daphne,
Though I wish that Rollie would run like this on our regular ride, he is indeed just chasing the car :)
His usual carting pace is very slow and relaxed, taking time to appreciate his surroundings.
