@supertroye i think he means the 4 points on the circuit board. you attach the 2 cables on 2 soldering points and leave the other two points untouched. i would also like to know how you knew which ones to use.
@supertroye I think he was referring to the two places where you soldered the wires to the board. I also was curious as to how you know which two of the four soldered places were the correct ones to attach the wires.
Also, would I be able to use a switch rather than a button. So, flick the switch one way... it opens, flick it back... closed?
@supertroye hey if i cut off the switch from another cd drive and solder it to another drive do you think it will work? i'm planning to cut the buttpn from an old cd drive with a small piece of the pcb attached
How do you get a cd/dvd out of the optical drive if it won't open? I don't want to risk breaking any of the ribbons... do I have to somehow pry it open and hope for the best or what?
you just cut the side of the cover, use double sided tape to stick it to the dvd tray and use a lego block or something small on the cover to push the button. when you push the tray back, it should go back in place like normal.
Thanks Precision. I think I'm gonna have to start paying Glen royalties for appearing in my vids. Alright let's face it, he's the brains behind the mods, I'm just a silly pawn :)

why there are four "places from original eject button?
u just use two of them , ones on the circuit
does a 0, 1 button work

u can see what i mean in 1:31

irek9009 2 years ago
@irek9009 he knew which to solder points to use because you can see the circuity going to those two solder points

There should be a very small hole in the front, near the eject button that you can push a safety pin in. It will move the door open.

Thanks! Do you sell drive bay covers at your store?
supertroye 2 years ago
try a lego block with some double sided tape.

very nice suggestion!

i commented before watching your video =]
it's easier with a flat drive bay cover.
you just cut the side of the cover, use double sided tape to stick it to the dvd tray and use a lego block or something small on the cover to push the button. when you push the tray back, it should go back in place like normal.

Thanks man... it's not an original idea by any means. Yeah we're trying to figure out how to stealth the drive. It really depends on the case though.
