There is a lot of Oil under the ground in the US.
There used to be lots of little independent Oil Companies, who created thousands of jobs.
But they couldn't compete with cheep imported oil @ $18/barrel.
And now, there have been so many environmental regulations imposed on drilling, that it adds to the cost of drilling here.
But in spite of that, it can be done.
And it doesn't take 'years' to put in a well, and get it producing...that's BS.
It can be done in a matter of months.
