I feel Mr. Miller met his responsibilities as a sponsor. Fro our school we had around twenty five kids go to the convention there is no way all of us could followed our leader thru the convention center and still have learned as much as we did. ..
they need to know when to keep out. i was there and saw him fall. i will never forget what i saw. does anyone know if he made it? please send me a message!
The media has no business talking about subjects they know nothing about. I really wish they could spend time with an advisor from the minute they start planning their trip to Indy, until the time they return home, they have so much to take care of. Every advisor has plenty of chaperones and can be in contact with the students in a matter of seconds by phone if need be. Any teacher in their right mind would not take a problem child anywhere, especially on a trip of this magnitude, good kids only
my school raised 2500 dollars for him were prayin for him he has moved for his dad and he is getting better if u want an update, go to google and type PHILLIP CALER BOOKER
I've been at the National FFA Convention since 2004. I am now an Ag Ed major in college, and hope to be teaching and indeed take my own students to NC in the future. In my 6 years in FFA, I have never known any advisor to be negligent, or uncaring about their students. My own advisor, even though he was not with us all the time, had all numbers, and every student knew his. He could call us randomly and talk to us, as well as make meetings anytime. These people need more information!
I was at the Convention when this happened. I was never once with my advisor during the day except for when the sessions were about to start. I think us FFA members are old enough and responsible enough to not have to have our advisor with us every minute..
Leave it to the media to take a tragic accident and attempt to twist it into a sinister conspiracy and negligence. The fact is, anyone who has kids, especially teenagers knows that it is impossible to be by their side, holding their hand so to speak, every single second. This was an accident and that's all it is. The reporter in this story should be ashamed of herself to try to turn it into something malicious.
I feel Mr. Miller met his responsibilities as a sponsor and/or chaperone. Philip was not sitting on the rail before the accident. This accident happened so fast that even those right next to him could react. How many students go to this mall without having their parents right next to them?
