  • The machine with put on the components its called Pick and Place.

  • Can u buy me a usb flash drive?lol

  • Thumbs up if you laughed at what he was wearing (4:10)

  • I just wonder why all the 2GB?

No explanation why they don't make the higher GB

  • I think that they should have a pizza come out of the oven.

  • did they let you have a free flash drive when you left???

  • So they pay thousands for these machines thousands for the building thousands for electricity and everything else and they make a usb stick that cost like $10-$20 and theres like 100,000 different ones When do you see someone with the same usb as you? its pretty fking rare

  • The packaging they use on these and other small electronic items drives me nuts as you either need a stanley knife or a pair of tin snips to get the damn thing open as tehy are thick plastic and are welded all the way around.I know it was designed like this to prevent the packaging from being opened in store and the products stolen but you'd think they would come up with an easier to open option,or have a machine that opens them at the checkout for you. Also the plastic can be razor sharp.

  • 160 people work for PNY.

  • so now i know how usb is formed.

    next, how is babby formed?

  • Well, I liked the video.

  • Why do they put the labels on by HAND? Can't you see that poor lady's eyes are TOTALLY SHOT???

  • amını götünü siktiğimin orrrrrrospuuuuuu çocuğuuuuuuu...

  • Having been an automation engineer for several years, I wondered why they chose certain methods of process machine design. Designing such equipment is always fascinating and full of mysteries that unfold in surprising ways. Young people who wonder about their future careers should consider engineering if they have the aptitude. It's better to commit to 40 years of interesting work that pays well, so it's worth the investment in education up-front!

  • I love how the tour guide stutters from time to time :)

  • um i have a question didn't the door say no cameras?

  • @KidsToon i guess we were lucky ;)

  • @minipcpro visit SanDisk, there Cruzer pwns Kingstons shit

  • @KidsToon it could be that you are not allowed to take photos because of the lightening of the camera

  • gutes Video!

  • You're really doing industrial espionage aren't you? Just kidding :)

  • nice but NOTICE PC's use Win XP recognize the task bar :D it's fun

  • ahahhaaa wtf at the manual labeling, totally sensless waste of labour there. but meh chinese labour is reletively cheap especially in countryside. i cant help but notice that some of the machinery is working lot slower than it could, especially the end mill, our routers are lot fater and we also have laser routers that are execptionally fast, is the machinery there not the bottleneck of the production? the pick and place unit is impressively fast tho. also the oven could be lot longer,

  • I love this dude, he's so German, I suppose!

  • just let me know when its friday, friday, we we we so excited, we so excited

  • and of curse also the credit goes to israel, the place where the flash drive invited!

  • 7:20 Haha.. The chinese can be set to anything that a normal European couldn't do for one day ^^

  • my usb is a kingston datatraver 4GB

  • 4:40 and then they are being cut by a litle, what is it? a little, mini chainsaw i guess.

  • Tailgates are prohibited or tailgating?

  • i want a toaster strudel.

  • Awesome vid love your accent!!!!

  • Tailgating is prohibited? But I so wanted to grill outside the door!

  • Show us a trade secret. You know, one of those things that they say...."but I can't divulge how we do that part". Kinda like asking for the exact blend of KFC secret spice recipe.

  • @UpcomingJedi

no trade secrets there this is all very standard electronics production line tech. solder paste mask unit, visual inspection, pick and place, oven, electical testing, end milling(routing), plastic assembly, testing(usually not done twice for so cheap products) and packaging, the only think irregular is the manual labeling, rest of it is very standard stuff you can find in any electronics production line

  • thumbs up if mr.plaag sent you here

  • woohoo! made in china. Thumbs up if your chinese

  • Wait, wait, wait.... those "fellas" look like ladies.

  • @Xenlex777 I know, I would be walking out with like 20!!

  • Click the number to skip the advertisement: 0:01

  • like if you have the yellow kingston usb

  • Great invention. Can't you make it respond on a whistle in case you lost the usb-stick?

  • WOW I thought it was so easy I Was wrong

  • Doesn't seem like a tour to me :|

  • Hey can u get me a couple 8gbs 4 free???

  • Funny, sign showed no cell phones or cameras.

  • Imagine if he sneezed, they would have to start over

  • i need all that flash drives

I will never have too less memory

    i want 400 terrabyte

  • there's so many asian people at the factory

  • nice bro

  • that's like porn to my eyes! but i also wanted to see how the memory chips are made :(

  • all thoughs red butons id get fired on the first day lol

  • @1:24 he's "shagging" out the computer!! 1:36 a computer getting shagged!!

  • Comment removed

  • @minipcpro did you see any dead gooks go by in the assembly line?

being converted into 2GB memory sticks?

  • god, how do people think of machines like this. it's amazing.

  • :O That USB FlashDrive Is In Argos Catalog In England (Argos Is A Company In The UK)

  • @jaydotosh lol

  • They can build usb's but they can't place stickers...

  • what a job putting stickers on the usb stick. Id rather kill myself

  • omg is that the horrid clam shell casing... ARGGGGGGHHHHHH

  • awsome tutorial

  • Thanks for the great tour.. :)

  • it's solectron all over again

  • Flo Just refrenced Keyboard cat.

  • Just a quick question.... How did you get in. Do you work there ( Sorry my speakers arent working so i cant hear what your saying in this vid )

  • @PeterT491 we were lucky enough to get a free factory tour

  • @minipcpro wow that was cool.

  • Great video. Thanks for showing us the production process. I will add this to my blog at myfreeflashdrive Thanks again for the tour.

  • Thats so cool! Thanks man, love your videos, keep up the great work!

  • The oven does not seal. This process is called "reflow soldering". It's a reflow soldering oven. In this process, the solder paste applied before melts and forms the required connections in between the pins of the components placed on the board before and the pads on the board. On the screen left to the oven the temperature profile in the oven was shown which is crucial. There is nothing special here actually, this is just how SMD (surface mount devices) technology is being produced. Thx anyway.

  • 1:16 solder paste is being pressed into the holes of this steel sheet and is later being transferred to the board where soldering is needed. 4:40 this is a CNC milling machine. It separates the big board with many identical patterns into the individual patterns which later fit into one USB casing. As the board is being made from woven glass reinforced epoxy material, the miller is made from tungsten-carbide steel and rotates at a very high speed, usually some 10-30krpm.

  • @lifeisavideo thanks a million for these additional information!

  • @minipcpro: You're welcome !

  • @lifeisavideo thx for info ^_^

  • i have lost mine :''(

  • No-way those Chinese £10 32Gb KNOCK-OFF drives on eBay went through this process.... BUT...

"Automatical Optical Inspection" ??? WTF is AUTOMATICAL dude?

  • ny tips on replacing the memory chip?

  • @sct911 noone is stopping you from getting on a boat and coming over to Taiwan to do it. The difference is, i am actually making money with it, so i am not sure who is the real amateur ;)

Again, feel free to come up with some content on youtube and show me your first video that is getting some 400k views.... it's up to you to come up with something more "professional" my little Aussie fella

  • @minipcpro Well, honestly, even I thought it was a little amateurish, in the sense that a little too much jargon was used... I couldn't understand a few things.

And the 400k+ views, well people view most videos based on the title, not the content that it actually has. So even if I do not like the vid, I still 'view' it. So I'd suggest you avoid any arrogance based on that number.

  • @mihirmodi oh i am not arrogant regarding the number of views, it's not the only one of our videos to attract so many viewers ;)

  • @mihirmodi i am just refering to his announcement he could do a better job. I am absolutely cool with critizism and there are many great comments from people, who actually had something to say and who could give some hints. That's the difference. If you can only be a critic without having any arguements, i think you have to deal with the fact, that people are calling you out on this.

  • @minipcpro Taiwan? Is kingston taiwanese? cuz i am :)

  • @sct911 shut the fuck up u cock

  • GOOD

    Nice Clip Thx dear Friend

I want to job in this factery

  • The guy who is speaking about the steps - what's with the "so called" machine names? Either they are what you called them, or they are something else. Not "so called".

  • @someb0dy2 thanks for the hint... youtube is such a great place to get educated ;)

  • @someb0dy2 That's wrong. "So called" can mean "to be popularly known as" and is often used to emphasize technical terms.

  • COOL!

  • interesting...

    really!!

    IM SERIOUS!!!!!!

ok ok... im so bored right know..... zzZZZzzzZZZzzzz

    NO NO im kidding

ever wanted to know something like that, but i really want to know how a graphics card is produces^^

  • what accent is THAT?

  • @Impact2us Something dutchish???

  • @FlegDesigns german ofcourse..

  • is hard to understand his accent

  • got me the 128GB one just for $10 lol... i assume it was fake but the guy said its clearance stock he has to get rid and so far got 80+GB on it ! boo yah

  • He could upgrade the sound factor by 10 by using headset sorta like what's done lately from the year 2000.

  • Kingston is the greatest, affordable yet reliable

  • Cool! lil bit hard to follow the steps but still cool! ;D

  • i hate todays kind of flash drive, im currently working on a new age of flash drive alot better, few more months lol

  • what does that involve?

  • its hard to explain

  • Nice video man a little hard to follow but still liked it.

  • jaja totally ignoring the signs on the entrance door x-D

  • wish you could of fimed how the kingston 272GB was made

  • how much does it cost?

  • Cant remember exactly but around

    500-900 bucks :/

  • more like £30

  • not the 265GB one

  • made in China I suppose ?

  • made in Taiwan ;)

  • mine says assembled in china :P

  • Can i have one? For free? I need a 32gb flash drive!!! please!!

  • davi13act u wanna flashdrive buy 1 poor bitch

  • narration was dumb...video could of been way better.

  • ok MC commentator, what is your problem with it? how about some hints to improve it or maybe even showing some comparable video you did?

Such comments like yours are helping a lot to improve it you know and are mainly revealing you as a complete troll ;)

  • 7:27 lol fellus... girls maybe...??

  • i use kingston all the time :)mines green though not yellow :) kingston travel mate

  • almost everything there is done by machines.just wow

  • @ 4:15

I want such a full box thing for myself!

  • what a reporter he turned out to be. Haha...

  • lol. its funny how every process is automated. and the final step sticking the labels are done manually.

  • I guess they have not figured out how to get a machine to apply stickers?,or maybe they are trying to hold onto peoples jobs,if the supply and demand of Products go up the more faster and productive machines become, and the less people is needed to work in factories.

  • wtf. from 1:00. HERE HERE HERE

  • LOL

    I Thought the video lagged

  • HAHAH...dumbass reporter

  • do you think they will make a 16 gb usb drive for me?

  • screw kingston! i bought 2 of them (2gb and 4gb) and both failed on me.

  • The How it's made show is better.

    Kthnxbye

  • look cheap asian labor

  • wow researching customized machines that noone has seen before.. good luck. i am sure you will find them. :)

  • you fail at understanding,

  • An authorized person, duh. :p

    LOL

  • Too bad the guy say's "uh" and "um" way too much. It gave me a headache trying understand the guy. I gave up half way through the video.

  • Definitely not How it's made or Deconstructed quality wise but it's very informative.

  • This makes me believe that we humans are capable of much more then we realize. The complexity that goes into designing machines to build other machines is so beautifully intricate that to say a human being is worth nothing is a gross insult to our modes of existence.

  • Sure hate to think what kind of people you must be surrounded by if you get the feeling that Humans as a whole think other human beings are worth nothing.

  • too bad you cant make one machine do it all, tht would save a hella lot of room!

  • Awsome!

  • That is a really cool factory

  • PNY is better.

  • ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY ASSEMBLY LINE!

    Thank you Henry Ford!

  • HERE HERE HERE HERE

  • ++++++++++++++++ THUMBS UP!!!!

  • "here. here. here. here"

  • cool

  • thanks for the headsup Steve. I had no clue how to name this machine.

  • they test those things!!!

  • 0:26 Damnit, I was gonna bring some Heineken and my grill!

  • OH OH what O.S. are they using WINDOWS WINDOWS YES YES

  • Windows XP Of course

  • they didnt load any software on it

  • Not a bad video, but this guy sounded like he didn't know what the fuck he is talking about.

  • That's great, very interesting, but actually I wanted to know how the ICs that go on them are made.

  • 6:30 its terminatorrrr!!! :3

  • Which area is this in?

  • Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. About 45 minutes south of Taipei.

  • German's aren't "gay" they're totally hot

  • asds

  • I thinks its amazing how these things are made. modern technology blows my mind a way

  • I had a kingston stick go through the wash. Still works just fine...

  • they cant make a machine that get the sticks?

  • Here.... here..... here....

    ship shooter.

  • WOW made in china, Lexxar only makes in U.S. I would never buy anything from Asia unless I have to

  • i am sure your comment was written on a system, which components are from asia, while you are wearing a shirt and jeans that comes from China and when your cellphone rings, remember, it was also made by asian hands.

wake up, as long as you wanna buy shirts for 5 bucks at walmart, you have to deal with it

  • THATS WHY I SAID UNLESS I HAVE TO.
