For every 10 Felix icons you pick up, you get a heart that gives magic upgrade for a more powerful weapon. The more hearts you get, the more upgrades you have. When you're at max upgrade, the hearts will give one-ups.
Upgrades have a limited time usage, over time you will lose the upgraded health hearts one by one. To replenish the health hearts, you either need milk or a magic heart.
i played this at my friends place before he sold his NES. i didn't get too far but it was fun

Also, if you get hit, you lose an upgrade automatically. If you have no upgrade, and you get hit, you die.
