Filmation in 1985 sued Columbia Pictures over the rights of the name Ghostbusters, they evne fought to have the rights to do a purposed animated show based on Columbia's GBs but DIC was taken, so they made a deal as Filmation based their show on their GBs.
Filmation's Ghostbuster cartoon was the reason the cartoon based off the movie had to be called The Real Ghostbusters because Filmation wouldn't sell their television rights to Ghostbusters
In my mind there is only one true Ghostbusters and thats the 1984 movie and The Real Ghostbusters I rather be kicked in the face than watch those two idiots and gorilla
rouge: Yeah. Since the 1984 feature film and its sequel elipsed the cornball Filmation cartoon based on the old TV series by leaps and bounds (thanks to the Ray Parker Jr. song sung in the film that was sung by John Smith in the cartoon), the series with Slimer, Peter, Egon, Ray, Winston, and Janine earned the title The REAL Ghostbusters.
Interesting that the unused promo has a nasty Slimer like the first film (he helps out in Ghostbusters II which is I presume a result of the cartoons), in the final show credits he is replaced with a blue angry ghost.
Each Intros are excellent, maybe should add the movies too of they're openings, even though is not cartoons, But still a part of Ghostbusters intros collections. By the way, the game is coming out in 3 months, i'm certain there is a intro for that too. Probably add that one to your collections. Thanks
Thats weird, I have VHS tapes of the intro to Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters using the regular song played in The Real Ghostbusters intro, and not the remix from this montage.
On the 8 disc dvd of the Real Ghostbusters complete series they talk about how they changed the video and changed the song. it last only 3 episodes. At that time the voice of Peter and Janine were replaced. once they cahnged the song back they slowed it down and then changed it again to the normal tempo.
Why did the unaired promo look so much more entertaining than that actual show!?

Peter looks a hell of a lot more like Bill Murray in the promo / Pilot than in the final series.

So are the years correct, because it says that the ghost busters and the real ghost busters came out in the same year.

Where'd you find the remix used in between the show openings?
NUTCASE71733 2 years ago
In Limewire just type in Ghostbusters and look for the ska style.
darkside707 2 years ago
Can't you just post the song? Limewire requires a credit card and I don't have one.
