  • this is nothing less than a metaphysical lesson if one has ears to hear. the very things in my life that i have 'resisted' have persisted. and like katie would say, i invite anyone to notice.

notice the things you dislike and how they keep coming back and around. but the second you're no longer scared of it/hate it/fear it/dislike it, it - like all illusions - dissolve.

    namaste! :)

  • If you think - "she is full of crap", Is it True?

Can you absolutely know that it's true that she's full of crap?

How do you feel when you think the thought "She is full of crap"?

Who would you be without that thought?

I ask these questions because my sister did exactly what she is proposing. When my sister was told her cancer was terminal, she came to me and said "I have two choices. First to live happily with cancer until i die or to live unhappily until I die. Guess which one she chose!

  • Cancer is sin materialized. Sin is error in thought, generated by error in belief (which is of the heart), the false belief carrying negative and destructive emotional energy. Healing cancer will require one to move beyond a mind discipline such as this and engage in a heart discipline through which one is able to transform the emotional energy that is responsible for the cancer to begin with. Sandra L. Butler (author; The Little Book for the Sou: An ancient Healing Processl).

  • @gileadpublishing1999 a quick note regarding physiology / enlightenment. _ I experienced self-realization in 2006. I haven't been sick a day in my life since. No headaches, either. Nothing. No fatigue, nothing.

  • What we resist will persist. Do not be agaist cancer be in favor of good health, prosperity and well being. I wish all the good our Creator has in store for you. I pray you heal and find peace. I bless you all.

  • @NYCw66 Why don't you send Katie an email about this? She usually writes back!

  • @NYCw66 You've got it nailed! It's true, your thinking things are not ok is the problem. But I doubt, however, that she would say that the pure love that you are talking about isn't in the hearts of the attackers, but in the universe, a higher power, or whatever you take on it is. Yes, humans do horrible things to each other, but no amount of crying foul is going to change it. Therefore, the only sane approach is to accept what is.

  • she is evil

  • I understand the anger expressed by "gailstrom" Byron Katie has a shattering revolutionary view of the world and how we see things. Of course you would dismiss her as a lunatic if you haven't read her books and listen to her thinking and philosophies. The same eruption arised about her comments about the War while she was lecturing in Israel. It's almost arrogant but so healthy !

  • @LeCanadienerrant Wonderfully said :-)

  • Thank you Katie for giving so much of your great work away for free, i also love how you dress.

  • He looks a lot like George Clooney LOL :-)

  • @gailstrom Is she full of crap or did she say at least one good thing? I think you've missed the whole point here. She just pointed out that you don't sit and drool if you get cancer. You do the best you can to get healthy. Also "loving" is the same as "accepting".. so if you want to loose yourself in depression go ahead..

  • @IslandForYou Either you oppose the cancer or not. Without arguing with reality love pours into your life. Because when you think about reality, your thoughts are in the past. So loving life is making friends with the past. Then you have love as motivation to do the best to stop cancer, without having fear of pain or death as motivation. It's like you thought you didn't love life, so you needed fear to action.

  • @gailstrom She was actually diagnosed with cancer and she was perfectly happy to have it. It turned out it was a mistake and she did not have it but when she was told by the doctor that she had it, she was as happy as not having it. She also was going blind with an incurable illness and had no problem. She ended up getting an experimental cornea transplant and it was fixed but she would have been fine had she gone blind, either way she was loving what is.

  • @gailstrom I agree with IslandForYou. She is not talking about passivity(sp?) as much as she is talking about self love.

  • @gailstrom actually byron katie was diagnosed with cancer. She laughed when the Dr. told her.

  • @Athena2oo4 really, she has cancer? i didnt know that. for how long? is she doing anything medical for this? where I can find more information about this?

  • @gailstrom Have you heard of Dr Simoncini ?

  • @gailstrom I hear what you are saying and do not reject it. I believe she is saying is except what is, not to be glad you got cancer but own the life you are and all the elements that are part of it. Example and not the best example getting old excepting we do not have many years to live knowing the body is failing but yet taking steps with medicines exercise to keep going and working on the quality of life we have remaining. I know cancer well have lost family friends and have it now myself.

  • @gailstrom - in her book A Thousand NAmes For Joy she mentions having a tumor on her face...not sure if it was cancer or not.

    Best wishes to you

    KL

  • @gailstrom katie has had cancer i dont know how many times.... her nose is made of

muscle from her shoulder.. she also has had cornea transplants in her eyes,

And other health challenges.. more than most

  • @gailstrom Can you really know that's true? Are you god?

  • I too lived beyond this disease. I think there is merit to what she says. I and others who have lived beyond it it have noted that there were gifts and lessons that were brought by it. We all agree that we want to be out of the woods with it .

what she is saying is to be friends with the problem. It helps to get over the fear and helps to bring clarity.

I appreciate what you are saying but to treat this dis-ease one has to employ body mind and soul. A surgeon can not heal this only we can.

  • What I mean by that is a doctor can temporarily improve the situation but our thoughts words and beliefs about ourselves can bring it back. In addition to my Doctor I listened to Louise Hay and others to help myself. Cancer is a disease of any combination of the following guilt , rigidity, remorse ,self loathing and, unforgiviness. Think of the behaviors like smoking or stress that arise out of those beliefs.

  • I thought that you may like to know that Katie has had cancer. I attended her 9 Day School for The Work in 2008 and she had a bandage on her face that was from surgery she had due to cancer.

  • She's not crazy. All she's saying is if you have cancer you have it.You can continue to fight it,or you can be okay with it.If you are healthy but fear illness and/or death, you never have peace of mind. But only when you make friends with the illness and death are you free from its complete emotional affect on you. That's all that's about...

  • The CURE for Cancer is a raw food VEGAN diet for 6 months! Also juicing everyday helps as well.... green juice!

  • @veganprincess01 is that true?

  • excellent

its this and these sorts of people that make the world a better place

    mind over matter

and the power of the mind

living life positively as much as possible

  • No. Matter over mind.

  • you might need the work someday. actually everyone can benefit from it, at any time. but you might ReALLy need to use this someday, and then you will understand. if it's a good thing and it helps so many people, why put it down?

that's all i'm saying.. take care.

  • no, of course you don't "have to" get it. but why comment negatively on something you do not understand and have no interest in? i can understand how someone who isn't at their very lowest point in life and has no need for her message can think that she is a 'nutter', but let me assure you. she is not. her four questions and turn around WORK. they help people who are really sad and lost and depressed and this turns it around. almost instantly.

that's all :o) ivery powerful and it works.

  • She's totally nuts

  • "cancer has a right to life"...what the hell! She is a nutter!

  • what she means is that cancer is life, cancer cells grow like life cells do, she is saying dont treat it like an enemy in your mind, heal it in the mind and then in the body. it sounds like she is a nutter til you understand

  • @lloyd197500 i love the way you explained this. Had to sign in to youtube to tell you :).

  • Cancer affects only the body. You are not your body. You are the consciousness that inhabits that body. You are the witness to your body's experiences. The body dies, the consciousness remains.

  • ;-)

  • you don't get it.

  • do i have to 'get it'?

  • @TadRapidly

Beautifully expressed. We do not die. It is what is perceived by the senses that dies. That is indeed the illusion.
