Hi I Have All The Equipment except a heating pad for my baby budgies does it mater if they have a heating pad? theyve lived outside in an aviary for about 2weeks and i wanna hand feed i have the care fresh stuff and paper towels in a lil critter container. i have syringes and the kaytee exact formula for baby birds to and a thermometer. :) am i good without the heating pad?
Use Kaytee Exact Hand feeding Formula. You do not have to use a syringe, a sterilised spoon will do but is more messier. Syringes can be purchased from chemists. Ask a breeder or look online.
Do not feed a chick unless you HAVE to e.g. mother cannot feed it anymore.
i wish i knew the formula. i love budgies. i have two budgies a male and a female and the female laid 4 eggs and it hatched but the mother didn't want it so i want to hand feed it.
Wow I really wish my budgie accepted food this easily. I have to hold him to make him put the syringe in his mouth. I think he just likes to make my job hard :)
hey, how do you know when to squirt the formula in? i heard they make a lttle bobbing motion wich means they have closed off their windpipe and are ready to eat or something like that,
i cant see it "bobbing" in this video but it seems to be eating fine, any help please
Hi, the best age to take them out is about 3 weeks. Feed them about 4 times a day. I've bought complete feeding mixture (NutriBird) and my budgie really likes it. But you have to be patient and spend much time with your little budgie. It's not simple, I'm so tired because of it. Certainly, you can only play with the budgie for a few hours every day and then return back, but I haven't tried, so I can't say what effect would it have.

i want to know when should i take them out of the nest, and should i take them out forever or just few hours every day ? and what kind of foof do you give them ? is it home made formula or you buy it from the store ?
