How would these speakers run(considering 6.5 components in doors and 6x9's in back) off a Pioneer unit only. I cant do a 4 channel amp just yet, is it worth investing in
@FKNhostile187 I generally do not recommend using the Polk DB speakers (especially the component models) without an aftermarket amplifier. While these speakers are very efficient, their higher minimum recommended wattage (no less than 10 watts RMS on the components) means they will not perform well off the lower wattage from an aftermarket stereo. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
@Outsida2K I’m not familiar with the Polk PA660.4 as it isn’t a model we currently carry or that we have carried in the past. I would recommend that you give Polk a call at 1-800-377-7655 for assistance with questions on that model.
@jamieblond1 the pa660.4 is a 4 channel amp from polk, not speakers... good joke though. Anyway if outsida looks at this again if you want proper power to your speakers you want about 75-108%rms per channel from the amp. So take the watts rms of the speaker multiply buy .75 and you have the lower end of the range1.08 and you have your upper end, I wouldnt recommend running less than this to your speaker.
hi um i put some Polk Audio 4.5 or some thing like that with 6x9 db sires and i have them running off of a amp.. but the smaller speakers i have running off a the deck and sound like they are blown is 200 watts to much for them because i dont know maybe if they are getting to much or to little?
Well, first, the head unit is only giving them about 20 watts each of continuous power. And they could use more power, and some bass blockers. You don't want them trying to reproduce full frequency. Take the bass out with bass blockers and they will sound better, and give them more power if you still want them louder and clearer,
Do the polk 3 1/2 inch fit a 2003 Dodge Neon Dash? I'd like to do a full polk system... but i'm having problems finding speakers that will fit the dash.
You are having trouble finding speakers that fit because the 3-1/2" grilles on front your dash are really tight against the top of your speakers. There's barely more than 1/4" of room for "mounting height." Every speaker we have sticks out more than that, so they would touch the underside of the speaker grille (not good).
You'll have to modify the speaker grilles (part of the dash pad) to allow more clearance for the new speakers.
hey i was just wondering if a set of db 651's and a set of db 6501's would run off a kicker kx300.4 amp and would the power be sufficient enough to run them?
Good question, the Kicker KX300.4 will give each of those Polk speakers 38 watts. They can handle more than that, and to get their top performance, you'll need more power. However, 38 good clean Kicker watts is a lot more power than most people drive them with, and it's a quality amplifier, so you'll probably be very satisfied with the quality and quantity of that combination, but you could go bigger if you wanted too.
Hey i have an alpine type x sub with a (supposedly)5000watt boss amp and i was wondering which polk speaker would be the best matchup ? if someone could help thatd be great
We'd love to help you get the right speakers to go with you Alpine sub. We have been helping people figure out the right equipment for their cars (and homes) for years.
This isn't a cop-out, we know from experience that we can't recommend speakers with the limited info provided.
We'll need to know the vehicle, your music preferences, how much power for the speakers, and more.
Both pairs of Polk speakers you've chosen will easily handle the 100 watts of power from the Alpine MRP-F600. You can't get a more perfect matchup of speakers and amplifier.
And of course that will translate into loud, crystal clear music at all volumes.
If you need any assistance getting everything you need for a successful installation, we are here to help. Our phone number is below.
Thanks for watching, and for you question. The difference between the DB-651 and the DB-651s is the actual size of the speaker basket. The "s" stands for "shallow." It's over 1/4" less deep, so as to fit more vehicle speaker openings.
J.R., from the video here, i don't know if you've ever called Crutchfield or not, but i can tell you, the other Advisors and I are passionate about helping people figure out which stuff is best for them.
We are trained to recommend to you speakers, stereos, subs, amps etc that not only fit into your vehicle, but also fit your lifestyle.
Call us to get some real solid advice, and of course you can buy the stuff from us too.
hey, I just bought two 12" Boston G5 subwoofers for my Lexus IS350. They will be in a sealed enclosure. What amplifier should I power them with? (I was thinking a Boston GT-28). and I believe they are dual 4 ohm
Your company says that they know what speakers fit what, yet I guarantee you have never, ever, had a honda del sol in your shop, since you claim 5 1/4 fit. Since the hole is 6.5, it would be kinda hard to mount that without a re-size bracket, and most speakers DON'T supply that on purchase. Also, you claim so many speakers don't fit, your team knows NOTHING about speaker mounting depths. Funny, I contacted POLK and they claim the speakers I were gonna get from you would fit, yet you claim not.
You are probably right about the fact the more speakers can fit the Del Sol than our database shows. Our databse is based on the measurements we take in the actual vehicle, in our install bays. We don't show speakers fitting that require any modification at all. Many speakers will fit this car if you take a knife and cut the plastiuc cup behind the factory speaker out to get more depth.
Polk actually works with us to design speakers that fit more vehicles, we have a great...
As for the 5-1/4" speakers, the Del Sol, like many Hondas, can take a 5-1/4" and 6-1/2" speakers in the same opening, without a bracket. We know, because we've done it.
If a bracket were needed, we'd give you one free with a speaker purchase, along with instructions and a wiring harness.
You can contact us if you have a question about speaker fit, we can make sense out of these apparant descrepencies.
what would be the best setup for my car im getting an ida-x200 and i need some speakers that are nice i was debating between these polk db's or the alpine sps or spr im looking for something that gets nice bass some nice thump but is clear

db651 standard model are good speakers. Don't expect deep bass, but decent mid-bass.
