  • Amattssimo, immensamente amato Schumann!!!!!!!!!!!! Poesia e musica sublime........

  • Lovely singing.TY AE for posting.

  • Her style feels a little on the ... operatic side for such an intimate artsong.

  • I don't the sound really shows what her singing of this is like. It's not quite like the LP version by her that I have.

  • What a beautiful Song Cycle "Frauenliebe und Leben" is... I remember the first time I heard this, I was a voice major in university, and the "gals" that were my fellow students performed this in a recital, and I immediately fell in love with the songs. I recorded it on my little cassette recorder, and I still listen to it occasionally, with fond memories of my time as a foice major in university :)

  • Despite Baldwin's fame, I completely disagree with his playing. I think he is quit insensitive to Ameling's breathing and timing. Maybe too loud as well..

  • @Roelekok

I completely agree! I think her collaboration with pianist Rudolf Jansen was much better.

  • And has been mentioned in other Ameling video posts, the video dates from 1980 from a TV broadcast in Puerto Rico. It is posted becasue of its rarity not because of its sound quuality.

  • Thank You for posting it. I am incredibly appreciative of this.

  • Her skills are almost unequaled. Excellent.

  • Great voice and great interpretation

  • Divino Schumann... L'amore nella sua espressione più profonda.. sublime e triste.. Musica malinconica e disperata...

Siamo in molti a provare un amore sconfinato per Schumann!!!! No?

    Genio sfortunato
