  • thumbs p f your name is molly !!!

  • The song is so much better than the video. The behind the back piano playing could have been replaced by anything else. The ending, however, is perfect.

  • I think your molly is like

    hellomolly1212

    sweet

  • I just watched this video again. It gets me every time. Thanks whoever put this together. And thanks, of course, to Biff Rose, for writing the song.

  • So glad to see this many views for Biff Rose.

  • I love this song, and this video is so sweet -- whoever you are, thank you for putting this video together.

  • OMG ! The last time I listened to this was in 1968.

I was in a college dorm, missing my girl friend .

But I told her to not wait for me... find someone else.

    I was soooo bummed out.

I ended up getting married to her.

She was the love of my life.

  • @felix49qwe4rty This song can't be that old! God time goes by so fast.

  • He still plays and will come to you and perform not for free, he lives in New Orleans

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I'd forgotten it, but as soon as it started, I remembered all the words. My old vinyl albums don't play anymore...

  • Gorgeous. Simply.

  • Murray Roman subbed one week in the morning slot on KRLA--think it was Easter Week '68--and played this record often. What a revelation.

  • Nice job of choosing clips to go with this song. I just hooked up a turntable and played this album for the first time in 25 years. Still as enjoyable as it was then. Thanks for doing this!

  • Biff Rose is one of those rare musical artists that combine amazing storytelling to original and compelling musical compositions. I love his music then; I love his music now.

  • my uncle Mike showed me this for the first time wheni was a lad..he still plays piano like it was a second breath..he used to go into my grammas back room and play ragtime and what not that came to mind...on a old out of tune old piano..he played in a old circus that went around the south called guntown..he was wonderful..now i hardly see him..and rarely talk to him..my dad is 80 and he just saw his litttle bro a few months back.thks mike

  • I found what you wrote a couple of years ago to Biff Rose... and that he then put on his MySpace blog. Really wonderful what you said about what this song means to you. Thanks!

  • I used to watch Biff Rose on The Tonight Show in the late 1960's. Johnnie Carson liked his music a lot. This is an amazing song... and you did a GREAT job putting this video together! Thanks!

  • Cool biff rose is my second cousin

  • how sad - I'm in love with a gal named molly but she's not in love with me and things went bad between the both of us...!

    nice song.

  • Cool Vid!

  • Thanks for putting this together.

Over the years I've listened to this song more than 100 times. I still can't get through it without getting all misty. There's no way I'd be able to perform it in front of an audience.

  • does anyone know the guitar/piano chords of this. i started trying to play it in F

    any help please

  • i just got turned on to this song last night and just had to learn how to play it. i've pretty much got the whole thing except for one measure in the bridge section. if you send me your email i'll send you the chart i made

  • what a beautiful song ,,,great tune

  • Good Ole Biff. I Forced my (Now Husband) 35 yrs ago to drive 2Hrs in our Hippie Van

to see him in a Organic BYOB Hippie rest

Kinda like " Alice's Rest." But that's another Story

  • 1974 i was 15 my first love "and the last it seems" had this LP loved to listen to it and most of all loved her. gonna die old and alone.....kinda like the song it seems. :(

  • sounds like a cross between Nilsson and Tom Lehrer?

  • This really brings back memories. When I was 17, in 1970, I had a date with a girl who was at college up near Harrison, New York. I was on Long Island. I drove up there, my car broke down and while I waited for it to be repaired. I went to a small store and picked up the Thorn in Mrs' Rose' Side for a buck on cassette in the discount rack. Been a fan ever since.

  • nice story, dude.

  • Homer Winslow--you did a wonderful job putting the clips together for this most beautiful, albeit sad, song. What a fitting tribute to Biff Rose. Molly is just as I pictured her--who is that girl? And...when will you be finished with Buzz the Fuzz? I am so happy to have stumbled across this song and video you created.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!! I often sing his song "aNNie' Loved him on CArson when i was a kid. Boughthis albums, he'slike an old freind ...youy want to knowhe is doing well, but have't een for eons! go Biff!

  • Jah, it's good to hear Biff again. Shame on me. I had forgotten him. Thanks for the reminder. Now it's off to dig out the old vinyl.....

  • I loved those first two albums, too. I practically played them all the way through, needle all the way through the vinyl. Tetragrammaton Records. I used to think that must be the greatest label ever because of that first album.

  • I recently heard Biff Rose on Jonathan Schwartz's radio show of American Classics on WNYC-FM in NYC. The music brought back great memories of the his first album, "The Thorn in Mrs Rose Side" from 1969. I was introduced to Biff Rose via the Johnny Carson show in 1968. I look forward to seeing other Biff Rose videos, especially "Buzz the Fuzz"

  • Man, even Biff Rose has this video on his site!!! Too Cool!

  • Beautiful job. I have always loved this song. Met Biff once. Gave him a hat made out of bread wrappers.

  • still have the album this came from--it plays-- thanks long ago stuff......

  • Biff played at the Ark Coffee several times in Ann Arbor, Mi about 72/73.He traveled via VW micro bus with a small piano just fit across the back.Rode my bicycle by the next morning and he was working on the engine before heading off to his nextr gig.what a great human being.

  • Who is that girl from 51 to 101 seconds and at the last? Anyone recognize her?

  • Well, this just made me cry. back in the late 60's, early 70's..I was the only one I knew of who had ever even heard of Biff (except for those I told). It's so wonderful to see that there were others out there who heard what I did in his songs. I once found bins full of his albums on sale in a department store..for $.59 ! I bought every single one because I thought it was demeaning to him, and gave them away to friends.

  • Me too.....saw him do it on Johnny Carson, if memory serves. Just got the CD from his website a year or so ago.

  • I remember seeing him on Johnny Carson...ONCE... and that was the only time I ever saw him on TV. I was shocked to see that he still performs, and puts himself and his very unique style out there for everyone to see and enjoy! Go Biff!

  • Yes - please post "buzz the fuzz"! Saw Biff in '70 - he was the opening act for Three Dog Night!

  • Well done!! sad it reminds me of love lost when i first listened to Biff. Thanks for posting.

  • ...also love Winslow Homer...guess I'm a dinosaur..Like Biff since 1967...thanks!

  • Thanks for this - it is great and I love the way you put it together. I remember seeing Biff on the Johnny Carson show sometime around '69 doing Molly (my then-girlfriend's name.) Love to see that again...

  • Saw Biff in Venice in 1969-70 even tried to record him in 1978. He was living in Venice again. I haven't heard from him in many years (Roast Beef Album). Thanks for posting this. Can you post "Buzz the Fuzz" my favorite?

    Thanks

  • Saw Biff Rose in a Dallas Bar in 1974 or 1975. It was great to see him singing songs from his album in a smoky little bar with about three people paying attention. Thanks so much for this tribute.
