Now that the sevenths have been added to the mix, the process for dealing with diminished chords appears to need some work. From poking around on the net, it appears that when you form a diminished 7th chord (Cdim7 [which apparently, and annoyingly is sometimes simply notated as Cdim]) you have to diminish the third, fifth, and seventh.
