  • Just like my mum makes it! If you wanna try something different, salt green chillis garlic ginger fresh corriander, grind it up lil water or yoghurt n there's a green chicken tikka marinade for you, tastes amazing :)

    I reckon turkey would work really well. It would be a giant tandoori turkey. Give it a nice long marinade and I think it would be very tasty.

    I may try just tandoori turkey one Christmas or Thanks giving :)

  • i used a little mustard with this recipie couldnt find cardamom .. hope it turns out nice lol its in the fridge marinating now ill let you know how it turns out :)

    I guess you could if you really didn’t want the skin on.

    I would prefer to roast with the skin on though.

    Maybe the compromise is to roast with skin and remove the skin at the end, then serve.

  • @mypcissues: it came out really really tasty i had to roast two of them..marinated them and kept them in the fridge over night just like you did the next day popped them in the oven..oh man what a tandoori chickennnnnn..thanks for sharing you recipe..i will watching your recipes from now on as well....thanks

  • Just made this recipe and it worked well! I advise to use Kashmiri red chilli powder,not much difference in taste but makes the maranade a deeper red in colour!!thanks r lass loved it!

  • looks amazing. i think a turkey baster would work brilliantly here. just take it chicken out of the oven 2-3 times and suck up the juice with the baster and push it back into the flesh of the chicken, it'll make it really moist and the flavour will be there when you bite into the meat.

  • for whom this recipe dint work its coz of size of chicken for sure plus its better to get fresh chicken.To avoid smell better wash the whole chicken with vinegar and increase the amount of ginger and garlic paste

  • I did follow the recipe. Printed it out and purchased everything accordingly. The chicken was fresh. marinated and left in the lower refrigerator for close to 15 hours and than baked it from 5:30pm to 7:00 pm, 1-1/2 hour long in conventinal oven at 400 degrees F. I am not sure why it came out raw inside and smell. no offend. thanks.

    I am not sure either. Could it have been a large chicken that should take longer to cook?

    Ref the fresh chicken, I have purchased chickens from supermarkets that are well in date but are not always fresh.

    Or when you buy a chicken from the butchers they are supplied to the customer sometimes in a plastic film. You need to remove the plastic film first and then keep in the fridge otherwise they start to go bad.

    I try and make the recipes full proof.

  • I HAVE FOLLOWED THIS RECIPE AND SPENT 1 FULLDAY TO COOK AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THIS VIDEO SHOWS. THE CHICKEN WAS RAW INSIDE AND IT HAD UNPLEASANT SMELL PROBABLY FROM ALL THESE SPICES MIX. i WOULD NOT SUGGEST IT FOR ANYONE.

    I am sorry to hear your dissapointment.

    The recipes I show on my videos do work and the mixture of ingridients are correct! The results at the end of how the food looks is exactly how it will be. In my videos you do see everything at each stage. I hide nothing!

    As far as the chicken being raw inside, that’s simply not cooking it enough. As for the unpleasant smell could it be that you had a chicken that was bad to start with?

    Also did you follow the recipe correctly?

  • I tried it yesterday and just realized where I went wrong. I used 5 TABLESPOONS of paprika for the marinade, when it looked too dry I added a lot more yogurt. Mind you, it turned out OK and the family enjoyed it. Next time I'll know better.

  • Amazing tandoori chicken recipe. I really like the addition of the cream to the yogurt, haven't seen that one before. Btw, here in the US we have whole milk, half & half, and heavy whipping cream -- which one would single cream be equivalent to? We might have a light whipping cream too, but I don't know many recipes that call for it.

    Once again, great recipe and great teaching =]

    Ref the “Single cream”. I think the light whipping cream may be the best option for you to use in the US.

    The other option could be to use heavy whipping cream and dilute to the required consistency with milk. Do not dilute to runny though, otherwise the marinade would become very runny.

    If you want it to be mild, remove the cayenne pepper and instead of using hot chilli powder, you could use a milder chilli powder.

    It is generally cheeper to buy a whole chicken and cut it down, Always check for special deals though as you may get a good deal on drumsticks, wings etc.
