Thanks man Im just anxious to record and i have been having this problem for 2 weeks. So you mean record the vocals only on the DP them what program do you use to mix the beat with the vocals on the DP. thanks for the support
@Boss4Green Right, Well you could record vocals on the DP-02 then use a program to put the 2 together but i would recommend recording the beat onto the DP-02 by playing it on your Ipod or computer and record the output from the audio out and into the DP-02 using some adapters such as a 1/8" to dual 1/4" inch I find it easiest to do that so you don't have to worry about syncing the tracks right. No problem at all man, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
@Boss4Green Oh and also the program I use to edit with is called Audacity its free and open source and a great and simple program, I have 2 videos on using it check those out because often times the audio recorded on the DP-02 will come out very quiet.
I have a question; I purchased the DP-02 but I am having trouble importing my beats from my PC the the station via USB. When i plug the USB up i see the folders on my PC and drag the tracks in WAV. file into the wave folder in the DP-02 but when I close the USB and go to Wave in the DP-02 there are no files to import, Please help me find them. Do you take calls over the phone or email? I will highly appreciate your help getting us started to record.
@Boss4Green Umm If need be I will take calls over the phone but that is rare... As for importing tracks its nearly dead impossible: you have to get the bit rate and sample rate correct in order to import...Its much easier to record what ever you want onto the DP-02 straight in using the inputs: I hope that helps but if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Dude you're a swinging guitar player what is the music scene like in Nevada?
Myself I have found out that in music the music is easy, dealing with people is the hard part. Seriously going solo with the harp and acoustic guitar and a tambourine on my head! Watch me work now!
Thanks for replying, I live in Orangeville Ontario Canada and our band has a very important gig coming up at the world famous Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. My original band got cold feet so I had to get some hired guns and they needed songs to listen to. I recorded everything with a click track by because the page numbers were not on the pages and time was pressing down on me, I was experiencing frustration!
Dude, from the top of my almost musical heart thank you for saving my mind. I rented this dp-o2 and they had to print off the owners manual but the paper wasn't long enough so the page number were on the pages. Frustration!!!
Your a very kind man! Thank you for taking the time help! Peace Brother
@fuzzpool You rented it? never heard of that, but thanks for your kind words man it means alot, if you ever have any more questions or comments please let me know and i'll answer them.
This video is only for exporting master tracks and master tracks u can't import back into the dp-02, in case u need them later. any track you've recorded and saved can be exported. just go to export track not export master. if u master a track and then export it, and then delete from your dp-02, guess what not going to get it back be carefull, YOU DON'T HAVE TO MASTER TO EXPORT.
@junkie654 Why thank you for telling me what i already know, Most people have no need to export individual tracks, which is why i didnt cover it in this video. And why would anyone delete anything unless they didnt want it anymore? Thanks though.
Thank you so much. I watched all your videos to finally learn how to get this thing to work. Surprisingly, your video was better than the manual for me. haha. Now I am waiting for my cd to burn! Thanks. :)

I have one of these and I wanted to know if I need to buy the TASCAM US-1800 USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface or If I can just use a USB cable. Where would I get a usb cable for this??
Thanks I appreciate the videos, I was wondering what can I do if I have more than 8 tracks that I want to record with out recording two at the same time. And is it possible to use the tascam as a mixing board hooked up to an interface?
@illanez7 You would have to bounce tracks to record more than 8 tracks, ummm you cant really use it as mixer since it only has 2 inputs but you can technically yes...if you have anymore questions let me know.
hey man do you have a video on how to master your songs? Ha and i wanted to thank you for teaching me how to assign tracks to record. I had no idea you can do that. I've been pressing "bounce" to record this whole time lol
hi just a question i recently recorded my band live at a show it was a 3 hr recording , i mastered it down and tried to burn a disc but the file was too big to burn on disc obviously, so what would be the best way to get this show burned onto disc ?? is there a way i can section off the file into 3 - 4 parts for burning ??

@axeshred103 Na its no problem man, to use the metronome press menu then go to MIDI then click metronome and you can set the volume of the click oh and set it to enternal unless you have a MIDI device that you are using with the unit, then go back to the MIDI menu and click tempo and you can set the signature and the tempo, if you have anymore questions let me know.
For some reason, the full song that we recorded ( a live, three mic set up through a mixer ) won't come up when I try to export it through USB connection.
I can't even bring it up when I try to import the track through the Wave?
I was wondering how you mix and master on the unit. I've been working with mine for about 2 years now and I can get good, decent mixes with it but I don't have any external effects (compressor, limiter, etc). I was wondering if you use all that jazz or just simply the EQ on the unit. Thanks for the videos and all your continued help! :)
@NeedleInTheHay1990 hmm well i personaly only use the EQ i dont do post effects or anything after, it takes knowledge to make a recording its not so easy to know layering and other stuff, but i do know alot about recording, you should try and learn as much as you can about recording like atmosphere and all that, i cant really help you here because i would need to teach you alot of stuff, sorry, if you have any other questions let me know.
how do i import a track or wav. file on the tascam? i no how to do the computer stoped doing it .and somthing pops up and it says " the path is too deep" wat does that mean?
@insomniac2am I have never encountered that before, that is very odd, I have not gotten my unit to import anytype of audio from a CD and from what i know im not the first, the DP-02 has something wrong with the import function and the only way that i have gotten it to work is to play the CD or what ever it is on a CD player or something and then record it as an intrument through one of the inputs. if you need more help let me know.
@PoliticalDestruction i had the same issue with wanting to put a sample on one of the songs i'm recording. i basically jerryrigged connection from my computer to the input using an 1/8" cable (such as one you would use to connect an iPod to an AUX port) and using a convert from 1/8" to 1/4" and recording it via that. A little ridiculous, but sounds alright and saves you a CD.
...so in doing what you just demonstrated, will the selected tracks be erased off the dp02 hard drive when you select to cd burn??? The manual isn't very exact in these operations...just blunt info.

@GNRSDF774 Haha i have no clue what that is, but no you don't need to buy one, you can just use a mass USB to USB cord like the one your printer uses
PoliticalDestruction 11 months ago
@PoliticalDestruction Where could I get one of those? Guitar Center?
GNRSDF774 11 months ago
@GNRSDF774 Probalby, but id rather go to Bestbuy for that type of cord, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Biglots, they all have them.
