Props to you for not caving into getting the Mugen version. The price tag is way too high for what is honestly just more flare, in my honest opinion. :) Great car though, nonetheless. Getting mine soon hopefully. :D

your right about the coupes handling being better. I test drove both the 4dr and 2dr si and felt that the coupe felt sportier. ended up buying a 07 coupe and am very satisfied with my purchase.

Good choice.  I've got the '08 Civic Si and ran into a similar situation, but the Mugen on the showroom floor was $34k... making my decision even easier to go for the better priced Si.

How is the performance of the Mugen WORSE than the base Si? The Mugen has a better suspension, forged wheels, and a high-flow exhaust.

The Mugen was the most overrated Civic in the US ever. I too agree about the Mugen and the price too high. Right now I am stuck between a 2010 Civic Si Coupe and a 2010 Civic Si Sedan. I have had both (2007 Civic Si Coupe/ 2009 Civic Si Sedan) I got the HFP 18" wheels and spoiler kit for both making them look ever so sweet. Anyway, very nice ride you got there.

You made the right purchase. I think the Mugen looks way too boy-racer, whereas the Si looks interesting and stealthy.

Mugen Civic Si looks pale because its a 06-08 body.

2009 Civic looks much better with the revised front and rear.

I know what you mean, I've always hated the single opening at the bottom of the front bumper on the 06-08 4drs. It was too rounded also. The 3 opening and somewhat squared off sides of the 09's look much better.

I was able to get my car for invoice $21,7ish or so(i think). Anyways after taxes it came out to $23,8, which is actually the MSRP so I'm not mad. Even if I would have paid full price the car it still seem like a bargain considering all you get. And if you could put a price on reliability and refinement this cars a total steal at 23 grand.

Mugen is overpriced I have the same car as this, black 09 civic si but couldnt get the nav in this color unless i waited and paid a $800 transit fee after watching this video I should have done it

True that, I was all about the Mugen and honestly didn't even think about getting an 09. Had it not been for the saleman walking away to help another customer I would have a Mugen today, when he walked away I went and checked out the cars on the lot and found 2 I like this two dr and a 4dr w/navi same color. Thank GOD he walked away I saved so much $ going with the 09, not a single regrets what so ever.

YES WORSE PERFORMANCE google it, I don't just make this stuff up check out c&d mugen si short take side by side comparison. A Si coupe runs to 60 in 6.7 secs the mugen is 6.8 and the coupe is 81lbs lighter do the math. The Mugen's skid pad # is also WORSE at .88g's to the coupes .91g's it is what it is. Regardless, it doesn't matter because I'm not interested in one anymore, I couldn't be happier with the choice I made.

i was in the same shoes as u lol......they had a mugen and a black si sedan.....they looked the same but i took the 09 cuz it was cheaper and yea, black is better lookin lol
