We tend to want to attribute inventions, discoveries, etc. to a single individual but all built their accomplishments on the ideas of predecessors. In the case of Edison and many other inventors, there were lab and technical assistants and just plain laborers whose contribustions are ignored.

In nay cases there was the support of family, relatives and friends.

the problem is that rich people who started with money dont appreciate it. not having money, and then working hard enough to get some, makes you happy because you understand the benefits it brings. money is not happiness, it is a means to an end. how you use that means is what is important
