@ChiroQuacker I saw him on the 89 tour - I thought he was wonderful. It was a BIG show - and such a pleasure to see him - I was only 17 and I had thought he would stay retired from touring and I wouldn't get the chance to ever see Paul play.
i saw every paul tour till 2002...starting in 1976..so i have a point of reference...i was in the first rows for a couple of 89 shows..and he wasnt sharp...
so i am sure u loved it but i am able to compare..the amazing thing is the best i ever saw paul was in 2002...of course he was older..but he actually sang far better in 2002 then in 89 and that amazed me ....
i love and respect him..he is very special human being...God bless him and is family
@ChiroQuacker I wish I'd had the chance to see him that far back - and damn it something has always got in the way of me seeing him since. Must see him soon though - he can't go on forever. The funny thing is that I've found that these days, I just don't want to listen to anything else.
"Arrow through me" from "Back to the egg" is a hidden gem and should have been released as a single. Unfortunately the recording company (EMI / CBS) didn't share the same view...
I don't think these are as rare as you think they are. I've seen all of these over the years. Most of them back when we had to rely on television or "T.V." as we liked to call it to see stuff like this.
A shame that these never made it on to the McCartney years. These would have helped for disc 3. Heck, put these with Stranglehold and others onto a disc 3 and even make a disc 4 for the live stuff. Would have been amazing.
@edcrawf The McCartney Years was indeed flawed - why not The Whole Rock Show? Why not the whole James Paul McCartney Special, why not more out takes - I felt more teased by the clip of Blackpool on the menu!!!
Some very good points. I don't want to sound ungreateful, because I am happy that he did release a lot of videos back in 2007. Keeping in mind we in the US had no previous official collection of videos. I hope that with the remasters that Paul might get more of this stuff out there. It deserves to be seen and enjoyed. I know we have sites like this, but sometimes I want me and my tv. I want my Paul tv!!!!! (Apologies to old MTV for stealing that phrase.) :-)
Arrow Through Me, now there's an underrated song...he looked good in that period, 1979

They should have put the first half on a follow-up DVD box set 'The McCartney Years 2: The Mullet Years'.

Prodigious output over the years. Very intimidating for most of us!
