  • amazing :)

  • My 1st visit to Stonehenge was in 1992 when I was aged 12. Back then I remember paying a entry fee and I could'nt even go and touch the stones and there were a fences. In the film you were lucky as you can go and touch the stones and probably didnt have to pay. Lucky you!

  • Many thanx, Fings. I was only 12 in '76, but remember the endless summer of parched grass and shimmering heat. I went to Stonehenge festival in '83 - before the 'battle of the beanfield'. Life was more kind and simpler then. Wonderful memories - thanks for sharing (:-))

  • There was something magical about the summers of 75 and 76, though I can only dimly recall them now....

  • The days when England was English

  • @sameoldfitup2008 very true, look at it now : (

  • I loved that year, my favourite.

  • 76, will we ever have another summer like that?

  • I do hope so. I love extremes of weather. Summer 76 will always stick in my mind.

  • @poolfarm2 Yes this year

  • i was just 5 years ld and remember the river avon near there was bone dry with nettles in the bed, savefor a few pools which were full of big old trout!

  • Very nostalgic! I remember that baking hot summer, and also remember ambling around the stones, having breakfast there on the way south-west on family holidays! Lovely viewing!!

  • This is lovely footage of what is actually recent history. Isn't it strange to see people actually walking around the Stonehenge site?

  • Yes, it is strange to see people actually walking around Stonehenge. It was a really hot day when this was filmed as I remember. July 1976! A scorcher!
