ya man, keep trying, do different stuff, don't get frustrated, and maybe try thinner strings, i'm playing 12's but, thinner would probably make it easier...

Also there are some adjustments you can make on you guitar such as adjusting the tortion bar. another thing to try is removing the nut at the neck and placing a small peice of cardboard (from a pack of strings) in between the neck and nut and then placing the nut back in. There are a few more things you can do to help solve this problem but i wold talk to you local guitar tech cause they will no more than i do. Also do what is posted above and just work on technique... you'll get it soon man.

Good stuff! Liking the minor variations placed around the original song (particularly phunkdified). I reckon you've got the tunes nailed technically but a little more patience on the actual playing would have them perfected. Playing isn't always about speed ;-p although it can be impressive

cissystrutting: You will get that sound unpluged too. I'm learning this style of playing and I play unpluged all the time. sounds fine unpluged. The only thing about being pluged in is that you can hear each individual note better....and it does make it a little bit easier.

it took me about 3 months all together, i'm using a pickup, into an amp, into my computer mic. your slapping, ya. well, use only the side of you thumb and it should be mostly rist action, not your hole arm.
