I am saved. I believe that Jesus Christ died to save me from my sins. Seems that I tend to subsitute one bad behavior for another. I truly believe that Jesus wants what is best for me and I likewise want to move the mountain of gambling addiction. I just want the urges to stop.

Yeah i'm kinda addicted... i've won like 4 grand in sports betting the last couple of months, its been fine except this past week... lose a few bets in a row, not winning enough, down about $500.. But i'm still fucking like 3.5 grand in profit. I SHOULD just take the winnings and run if i feel i'm running out of steam. I think i will this time. I'm starting to lose interest when i'm not winning consistently.

Last time i was up 2 grand.. but eventually lost it all. Took a break, got back into it

I tell you that it is more to it, you have to go to a hospital, rehab, you need all the help you can find - and you can do this with God. I'm the wife of a compulsive gambler. It has been a very painful journey. He has gone to rehab once and he is still gambling and in denial. Being married to a compulsive gambler is very lonely and frustrating. I'm really getting tired of it. I am a christian and so is he. But he does'nt think he has a problem. Because God is against gambling! Gambling is from the devil, and not God! God never intended man to gamble. This includes all forms of it - including the lottery. If you participate in the lottery, or any other form of gambling, you are sinning, in my opinion!

Gambling is not working, it is taking a chance with the money you have, and it CAN become addictive! and God doesn't favor gambling, It's taking the easy way out, if you are "lucky" enough to get away with it for a while! Eventually the tables will turn on you, and you will lose everything! You can't gamble and expect blessings from God, it just won't happen! God won't answer your prayers when you are sinning willfully - repetitively

Hey Joel! What are your thoughts about doing the 12 steps as way to dismantle self-will for the compulsive gambler? It's a shame that the steps (more specifically GOD) is a token part of the GA program. If revovering compulsive gamblers actually did the steps instead of just reading them off the wall, then the teachings of the carpenter and others can come in, and therefore be a solution to our problem. I do believe that all addictions have demonic roots, otherwise they would not be so hard to quit. Addictions are spiritual, and mental, and not as much physical as most people think.

God did not create sin! Sin was found in Lucifer while he was still an angel in heaven. That's when God kicked him out along with one third of all the angels, who wanted to follow Lucifer. If you heard that in a church, that was a false teaching! Stay away from that church!

As for your salvation, only God knows whether you are saved or not. Revelation 3 indicates that if a Christian backslides far enough, his name WILL be erased from the Book of Life! Only God knows what "far enough" is.
