I've seen countless independent films which make this look like Citizen Kane. I don't rate the bad independents because they are so cheaply made, and amateur, that it blurs the line of what should be considered a movie.
4 stars is not twice is good as 2 stars. Each tier is relative to that below it. So it's like saying that a 3 star movie has twice the quality of a 2, while a 4 has twice the quality of a 3. I think I'll make some adjustments on my site to explain this.
The lowest my scale goes is 1 star. I would give the '94 Street Figher just that. I think there were elements in the craft of filmmaking that set this above Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, two of the absolute worst films I've seen, let alone this is one of the better video game based films (not saying much at all).
Ok I agree it wasnt as great as it cudv been, but come on you guys are being a little pedantic about this movie. Its live action, so ur not gonna get to see EVERYTHING u saw from the original franchise, like costumes for instance. Some of the costumes wud look stupid in the film. The writer of this garbage is named JUSTIN MARKS. If you have played the PS2 videogame "Shadow of the Colossus" he will be writing the screenplay for it. Please kick up a fuss around the internet if you do not want to see him ruin another franchise.

The "so bad it's good" argument is a slippery slope. I don't want to suggest a film which fits that criteria, because that would encourage the creation of more purposely bad films. People sometimes ask me why I thought Jones 4 was the worst film of last year, simple enough it fell the furthest because of the presumed strength of prior entries. Dude have you seen Street Fighter 2V the anime TV series based on Chun Li, Ryu, Ken when they was younger before they could do all the stuff they do in the games. I think they taken the main part to do with Chun-Li and added a twist to it. She can't do kikoken hyakuretsukyaku and spinning bird kick and there are guns in the anime cartoon they've tryed to follow that and then add stuff to it.
I realize this takes place before the tournament, but is is too much to ask that we have at least one "Lionheart" style underground street fight? It is called Street Fighter after all.
I thought the movie had a better storyline than the 94 counterpart. I liked how they didn't put Boxing Gloves on Balrog. I liked how they had Vega as an assassin. Chun-Li is friggin' hot. Way better lookin' than the old skool Chun-li in Van Damme's movie. Although the wirework in many of the shots were terrible & action sequences hard to believe. The story was decent and the ending was clearly a cliffhanger for something bigger. I give this movie 5/10

I'm a long time SF fan. Played all the games, and still do. Loved the animes(SF:Alpha the movie, SF2: The animated movie, SF V the series). Didnt really like SF Alpha: Generations, and hated SF the movie. But this one deserves a 6/10 at least. The characters were off, but the character of Chun Li was well made, and the story, though vague, was at least decent. I dont understand why you people bash it to hard. Maybe you have no idea what SF is. Maybe you like to bash 2009 movies....
I'm sorry, but you should look into separating your love for the source material from film counterparts. In the case of this movie, I greatly enjoyed the SF games that I own, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy The Legend of Chun-Li.

That plot point is so badly written, even Chris Klein can tell it doesn't add up. We never even heard Bison's plans. Was he going to kill her at a certain age to finish the ritual? I saw no benefit to the ritual in the first place, he had no special power in the film.
LOL well in the game, everytime he gets killed in the tourny, Bison uses Ingrid's power (bison's psycho power) to find a host for his new body. When he was destroyed in sfa3, he made cammy the host until he found a new body. In sf4, they show that he uses the white humanoid models to have his soul be transferred into them thus becoming a new Bison. Abel is a defected model. Seth would be the new vessel in sf4. Twelve from sf3 maybe similar.

Next they would probably made Guile Charlie's son or something, let's face it, they made him into Blanka in the first film, they might probably made him into someone else to just had a purpose for Guile.
I had assumed, that Charlie was Blanka, given the information from SFII. Capcom has done a lot of retroactive damage control, making canon impossible to establish, even stating that Chun-Li was always half-Chinese. Don't be surprised if at some point Dhalsim and Zangief become lovers.
And as for blanka, rumors spread that charlie was blanka, yeah i do remember that. It came from outta nowhere of course i believed that too. But when you beat the game of sf2, his mother calls him Jimmy, not charlie. Maybe ppl's memory replaced the word Jimmy with charlie. I know mine did for some odd reason.
Interesting comments (I noticed that in Blanka's ending too which should be about as official as it can get), but these also show some of the trouble with the mythology of Street Fighter. There seems to be no canon whatsoever. The games contradict the movies, the movies contradict the TV shows and comics. It's a real mess to ask the audience to know backstory from a specific source, instead of all or just the movie being shown.
