Hugh Laurie is the complete opposite of what is running around on the Internet and other media right now: Actors who try to be singers, singers who want to be actors... but they fail and don't even notice.

However Hugh Laurie is both: A very good actor and a respectable musician. Even if he's not perfect, he should be perceived as unique.

I think the difference is he's not TRYING to be 1 thing or another, but rather being an "entertainer". The way I see it, if someone performs a song to make you laugh, it's kind of irrelevant if he's a good singer right? As long a he make you laugh(wich was the goal in the first place). I agree with you, just giving my 2 cents :D. I'd say he does have acting down to an art though. It's incredible how he can lose that english accent completly when he is acting as Dr. House.
