  • good to know brother thanks

  • I just got my 500 back after 7weeks. while unloading using action release my backside ejector arm FELL OUT! dont know the cause no explaination or anything from the dealer or Mossberg. I know shit happens and I love my Mossberg NOW... but come on! Nice vid btw.

  • because your last video i was gonna not buy a mossberg 500 but this changed my mind back

    you diserve a subscriber:)

  • Good video's about the Mossy 500 problem,a lot to be learned here. Not the least of which is honesty, admitting to,and correcting mistakes.Great job Cutlerylover.

And for Daniel55645,UAG sells the pistol grip/buttstock combo, with the removable buttstock,so as to use only the pistol grip.Takes all of 5 minutes,1bolt,to switch back and forth. MODEL-UAG-9S-MOSSBERG,$50.00 on Ebay.Nice to have the buttstock when hunting, the p.grip for home defense.18.5" barrel for h.d.,28" for hunting also!

  • Interesting video. I don't know I would have dared strip it down that completely. I like folks that have a problem and face it squarely and man up and learn from it. Good video and you are braver than I am to tackle a trigger assembly issue. I would have sent it in or gone to my very good gunsmith. I know my limitations.

  • Good Job with figuring out the problem, what caused it and with the follow up video.

  • if i were to buy a 500 pistol grip, would i be able to change out the grip to a regualar buttstock easily or not at all. i like both styles but dont want to buy one of each, just wanna be able switch it out whenever i want. when i mean quick, i mean like 30min or so

  • @daniel55645

You can buy combo versions of the mossy 500. The grip can be changed in less than 30 minutes easy. Look up model 54169

  • @BenjiEDF alright cool thanks. i like the butts for when im shooting for fun, but like pistol grip when its just sitting around for home defense and would just rather switch it out than buy 2 so thanks man

  • @daniel55645

You bet. I like that combo because it comes with 2 barrels. I use the 28" to shoot trap and when I get home it takes me 30 seconds to swap to the 18" for home defense... hard to beat.

  • @BenjiEDF i just went and checked the gun out and it looks like a nice gun, and i def like the price on it.

  • pistol grip pumps blow

  • Bro u bug!!! You dont know what your doing or talking about. Why would anyone listen to any of your advise after admitting that you cant even tighten a bolt with thick treads. "U CROSS THREADED" LOL...Didnt you notice the bolt getting hard to screw or at an angle halfway during the tightening period. Plus, you should have mentioned in your first posting that you installed a cheap grip & then started to have a not working saftey. The bolt u tapped is a bad bolt to tap (must hold extreme kick).

  • And you made me think there was an actual issue. Sad.

  • Thats why crossbolt safety is much simpler

  • i scared the shit out of my friend with a empty mossberg 500

  • Good on you for admitting it was your fault. I'd like to see you delete your other video, but good job for taking the time to post this.

  • I'm having the same problem with my Mossberg. Only mine came with the pistol grip and I installed a buttstock. I went from a shorter bolt to a longer one. Now it fires in both modes. Do u have any opinion on this? Probably the same issue??

  • For some reason, i cant unscrew the bolt in the butt stock. My flat head screwdrivers just slip out.

  • Oh, BTW, I have a spare, fully assembled, trigger group for the Mossberg 500A, new, never been installed. I could let it go for $75 plus shipping

  • That was quite brave of you to admit your foul up. Considering the degree of error involved. I suggest that you not service your own guns for now, and in the near future and find a mentor that can show you the way. Good luck on your journey. It's too bad you can't just pull the videos off and hope no one else sees them. I guess you could change your screen name. Hang in there. Stay safe, or not, whichever you prefer.

  • This happened to me.... It was safetied and a girl got hold of it and pulled the trigger as hard as she could because "it wouldn't work". She snapped that piece off and now I can't use it anymore unless I buy the piece or make one myself.

One more reason why women shouldn't touch a gun.

  • your thumbnail makes you like you have downsysndrome

  • Good to know thanks

  • Do you know if you can get pistolfore grips for the mossberg 500a? and if you do,where can i get one? I know they have a straplike grip, but i dont like that one. lol Thanx.

  • I've been thinking of getting a pistol grip for my mossy, but how do you operate the action lock lever with a pistol grip on? Is it hard?

  • It's true, very few videos on trigger assemblies. I had to scour YouTube to find a vid on the Ruger 10/22 trigger assembly. I think it's fallen to you, CL! You can make a vid on the disassembly/reassembly of a Mossberg 500 trigger group. If you felt like it, that is. Your time is your own, but I'm sure a lot of folks would love to see it. I know I would.

  • How much does this cost?

  • HOPE YOU SMACKED YOUR FORHEAD

    AT LEAST 3 TIMES!!

    harry-reno nevada

  • hey a tacstar vertical forend would look great on that mossy,i have it on mine and it looks great

  • Last time i checked with mossberg they WILL NOT send out new trigger assemblys for legal liability.

    Weird.

  • dude you would look badass if you dressed up gangsta you should

  • can you help ? i took trigger apart and cant putback aaaahhhh

  • Apart from the problem you had with the gun. How do you like the Mossberg 500? I am thinking of getting one. Just wanted your thoughts on it.

  • I'm going to be getting a Mossberg 500 and I was wondering, can you get the same mods that come with the 500 12g with a .410 or 20g (same model, mos. 500, but different gauge)?

  • how much did that pistol grip cost

  • My favorite type of shotgun!

  • Wow KICKass Gun.

  • Quick question, I've been a subscriber for about a year or a year and a half, and I've always for got to ask you, what is your nationality, because you have some asian features.

  • how the fuck did u get ur mag tube off ? wow how the hell did u mess it up did u rush into it or was it just a blah day i hade that grip like i said in ur other vid my moss500 jic grip that came with my other 1 i love its a hard hard grip

  • Thanks for the update, I was worried about mine and it's good to see what actually caused it.

  • LED ZEPPLIN RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!

  • The screw screwed something up...

  • little product placement in the background, nice touch.

  • Good to hear that you got it Fixed!

  • a guy like you should have a cigar collection

  • Nice job on the evaluation and fix!!

  • "mine dosent look like that. mine's all bendt"

  • someone i knew tried sellin me this gun off the streets for like 200$ and i can tell you right now it wasnt clean lol

  • I like the zeppelin poster in the background

  • still no word from mossberg the trigger group made it there but they have not called yet you are a better man then me I took the trigger group apart and after 2 hours of cursing and dropping parts I sent it off on mine its the triger itself good luck with it man.

  • @chef0086 I hope it works out for you, I was thinking about the metal upgrade for the gun, but dont want to fork over the money for one since its working fine right now, but who knows...If I ever have another problem Ill probably just buy the new drop in trigger assembly and be done with it...its a cheap shotgun so I dont want to add a lot to it you know or spend a lot...

  • @cutlerylover Me to some day but not now .

  • @cutlerylover i got mine for 200 new with the wood stock and it is the best shotgunn ive owned

  • @johntedrowjr Two hundred new?? The cheapest I've seen was 315 at a local gunshow! Where'd you get it??

  • @voodazz its was actually 225 but i got it at wal-mart it was on sale i got it and a 100 rounds and i shot threw that within a day hahaha i love shooting skeet

  • @johntedrowjr Erg, I hate you even more now! My walmart doesn't even sell guns anymore! :(

  • Good video.

  • SWEET! My next firearm purchase is gonna be another Mossy 500, this time with a front a rear pistol grip setup. I was weary about getting that grip tho since you first had safety problems but now I can go ahead with a clear mind. BTW, my first Mossy has a Knoxx Specops stock on it.

  • good to hear you got that fixed nice vid

  • LED ZEPPELIN FUCK YEAH

  • I like the pistol grip on a shotgun accomodated with a callapsible stock, I like the look of just the pistol grip but as far as shooting goes I prefer a stock. Are you able to reach the safety easily?

  • you should make more balisong tutorials im running out i of things to learn haha

  • Led zeplin hell ya

  • It's cool when people own their mistakes! You ROCK!!

  • im liking the hair jeff

  • must love for the led zep poster <3

  • led zeppelin poster FTW. so epic.

  • Jeff, I'd strongly recommend getting new replacement parts from Brownell's or Midwayusa. Best to be safe than sorry.

  • LOVE THE BACKGROUND!!!!!!! led zeppelin is my favorite band, and got me interested in music and guitar. =]

  • god forbid but it would be sorta comical if you blew a whole in your wall while fireing

  • Do those pistol grips hurt your wrists when you shoot?

  • good to know dude... Cool video ::::: Thumbs UP

  • hi jeff umm its jake here um i started watching your vid because i love your bob,edc and equipment but you do so many more gun review then edc bob and i would like to see more edc /bob survival sorta videos please

  • You should have just called Mossberg and got a new piece that was straight. Sure they would've just sent you a new piece free or charge.

  • @Forgoten214 fore safety reasosns most gun companies wotn ship internal parts, they need to assess the situation and fix it themselves, otherwise someone might install it wrogn and kill themselves...

  • @cutlerylover

Oh I see. Well at least you was able to fix it. I would just want a new part though to be on the safe side. At-least I would personally. When it comes to stuff like gun safety I don't want to mess around with it. I'm just wondering how it was able to bend so easily when you was installing the grip.

  • @cutlerylover And I believe since it was the user's fault, it is not covered within the warranty for repair. Also generally warranties do not cover after market parts Would probably have to pay for shipping and labor.

  • @Forgoten214 Ya stupid

  • LED ZEPPLIN!!!!!

  • Yea I had a pistol grip on my 500 for a while. After about 1000 rounds I realized it isn't too practical. Fun though.

  • what would be a good weapon for a beginner? something that has good stopping power but cheap ammo. anything from shotguns to rifles would be ok

  • @karisawa hmm well this shotgun is cheap, as for ammo defensive 12g is about $1 a shot for the most part...but you cna practice with birdshot which is cheap...

  • @karisawa I would suggest for cheap ammo, get a slingshot or a BB gun. :P

Joking aside, if you are talking about shotguns the 500 mossberg is reliable and shotgun ammo is relatively cheap. If you are talking rifle I would suggest an SKS, the ammo is 7.62x39 good round... delivers a kick and will shatter your eardrums. (Ear protection always!) As for a pistol, 9mm is what you would probably go for, since you asked about stopping power, otherwise I would recommend .22 for pistol practice.

  • @karisawa

i reckon a semi auto .22 like a Ruger 10/22 is good for any beginner. Theyre quite versatile and can be used for practise as well as small game, and both the ammo and the guns are cheap. Ruger 10/22s are pretty nifty because theyre very customisable. Though .22s are lacking in the self defense department.

  • @karisawa personally i think you should go with fartx211's reccomendation because its great to learn with.

  • cool vid man

  • Good Job jeff. My uncle has one and hasnt had that problem yet...so when he does, now i can help him:)

  • Nice Led Zepplin poster!

  • lol where the box is placed it looks like its covering the guys nads. nice vid btw

  • kool poster led zeppelin roxx!!!

  • I like to call myself a gunsmith in learning, learning on my own guns. Also, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.lol.

  • I'd just like to say that I don't own any firearms as Im only 14 years old, and I don't have any reason to watch these videos, but I do, because your an awesome guy. Keep Posting.

  • I have a Mossberg and it's my favorite shotgun. I have four barrels for it and many extra's for it. I've never had a single problem with it and I can break it down completely each time I clean it. most of all was the price. :) It's my all around hunting and sporting tool. from rabbit's ,deer and bear to geese. I also use during black powder season as well. did I mention turkey's? it's also my home defense tool as well. oh really enjoy sporting clays with it to.

  • Very good to know

  • The Screw, Screwed something up.

    Touche.

  • nice, but i have a question, if i bought a moss-berg persuader would i be able to put moss-berg 500 or 590 parts on it?

  • awesome LED ZEPPELIN poster in the background

  • since it's hard to find info on how to take apart and put the trigger assembly back together, you should make a video on how to do!

  • @xXDenn1SXx I thought about that, well see is was a real pain the you know what...

  • Led Zepplin FTW!!!!!!!!!

  • so by beating the metal piece with a hammer on concrete, you still feel that shotgun is safe?

  • Let's see, safety didn't work before he did..

    Now it does...

I'd say it's safer now than it was before... That piece shouldn't be weakened enough to cause any problems... Not much strain on that part when the safety's engaged....

  • @illogicalmethod even if the safety didnt work at first, and now it does, i still wouldnt trust it until i had it checked out by a certified gun smith just for legal reasons. say someone broke into his house and he had to use it..just saying you should CYA jeff

  • Legal reasons?

In a shooting in PA, either it'll be justified, or it won't be.

If it is justified, it's not going to matter whether you shoot them with a gun that you permanently disabled the safety on, with a gun that never had a safety or if you shot them with a gun that you had to smack on the back with a mallet to get it to fire.

Merely going out to the range and making sure your gun fires when you want it to fire and not anytime before, is sufficient enough testing for legal purposes.

  • @GunGuy0 yes 100% the purpose of that peice ios soley for the safetyt, I dont load the gun until its ready to be fired anyway the 1st safety is your mind, but all that aside the thing is solid, it wotn break easily even after all that abuse...

  • Nicely done jeff

are you publishing more vids today like an edc or something

    i REALY cant wait

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • lol "the screw screwed something up"...nice one, keep em up!

  • Good to hear your safety works again.

Whats your opinion on pistol grips, do you feel you have more control, or did you get it because it looks cooler?

  • @BigZ6291 there is no doubt at all you LOSE control when swticing over to just a pistol grip with no stock, the reaosing behind it is to make a more compact gun, in ym case its a hoime defense gun and I have tight spaces in ym home, thats why I did it...as for looks I feel it looks cooler, but that doesnt coutn for much, lol...as for function you have more control with a stock on any gun...

  • @cutlerylover Im thinking of getting a pistol grip for mine. Ill just have to get one a try it out.

    Thanks for the reply!

  • @cutlerylover hay cutlerylover have u ever conciderd a rem 870

  • Note to self: leave gun smithing to gun smiths.

  • @johniac7078 haha Im a Smith, just not a gunsmith...haha although I plan to eventually become a licensed glock armorer...they are like legos anyone cna fix them and upgrade them...

  • Dude, you should definitely become a gun-smith(and not just a Glock armorer)..

Heh, think about it Jeff "The Gun" Smith.. eh? LOL Sorry tired..

  • glade to here the problem is solved i been thinking about getting one some time

i also see the ready store box in the background (subliminal advertising?) lol zeppelin rocks there for the ready store must rock

  • @Hissatsu5 lol, nah thats just the old box from the other stuff I talked about, I have a review coming on that wind up radio/light thing soon, I just want to play with it some more and use it more before the review...and of course more food related videos down the road...as well as an update to how I modified that readybottle...

  • @cutlerylover sounds cool :D

  • Everybody give me a THUMBS UP if you think this new Youtube format SUCKS!

    Good job, Jeff.

  • Isnt it fun to take a rifle down that far. Did you have any springs shoot across the room. And you sit there like ________________ now what? Good deal bro, glad you got that together

  • @Goindeff haha I had a pin fall out of the trigger assembly...I was just looking and turned it sideways and heard that dreadfull clink when it hit the floor and rolled under the desk, lol, but I found it...

  • competely off the topic of shotguns or guns at all what would be the best survival knife for like 50 because i am really tight on money at the moment

  • Good job Jeff.

  • Great video Jeff we all need to check the safrties on all guns periodically to make sure they function. Great gunsmithing too.5*s

  • Jeff, you didn't bend the safety tab "back" you bent it FORWARD. Back would mean toward the rear of the gun.

Glad you were able to figure out what was going on and get it taken care of rather easily.

  • @Czar169 I meant back to what it was suppose to be thats all...

  • if the little thing was so strong how'd the tool bend it if you couldnt bend it back?

  • @Lancelodeon3 just the leverage its screws in with a big handle I just thought at the tiem ti was hard to tuern because I was carving the metal to create new threads...

  • @Lancelodeon3 it's easier to scratch something then it is to remove the scratch so it's easier to bend something then it is to bend it back

  • nice zepplin poster lol

  • just wondering, how could you be able to bend the piece with a screwdriver, but when you were going to bend it back you couldn't even move it?

  • hey dude i really like ur vids... but could you shorten them?

  • interesting video pretty cool you able to fix it yourself got to love multi- tools.

    p.,s I don't like u-tube new format either

  • Glad to see your weapon system is "up". Good job!!!, I've been critical of you in the past, and for that I apologize. You provide a service to many that would otherwise have no access. Be safe.

  • I prefer the safety on the Maverick 88.

  • cool you solved the great Mossberg 500 mystery... chip chip cheerio young Sherlock Holmes !!!!!haha .. great vid thanks

  • Great info! Thanks

  • Mouth begins to open in mocking laugh.

Rememberence of my pass gunsmithing efforts/screw-ups shuts mouth right quick.

  • Ahhh, thanks for the info man, now I'll now what to do if that ever happens to Mossberg 500.

  • I have a mossberg-590 and I have never had issues with my safety.

  • i am turning 18 soon and i want to buy a shotgun any suggestions?

  • @M1K3y0wnzu remington 870 is a nice one, if you cant find one or cant afford one new try the mossberg 500, comes in A LOT of flavors all under $500 new most under $300 new...

  • I would get the M500 I own a Airsoft version and a real version .... I love both ^.^

  • @cutlerylover thanks!

  • Touching on his recommendations for the Mossy 500..

You can get a Maverick 88 12 gauge at walmart for under 200 dollars..

Made by mossberg, is basically the same gun as the 500(barrels are even interchangeable), made in the U.S.A. and works ;).

  • @M1K3y0wnzu

    akimbo 1887 fmj

  • @M1K3y0wnzu Don't you have to be 19?

  • nice shotgun cowboy

  • cool!

  • video is so much better seeinig you talking.. i hope i see more of this in the future..

  • Long live Zeppelin.

  • Glad to hear the cause .The original stock bolt would look pretty funny on the pistol grip . Aren't they 5-6 " long ?

  • @krazy45cat yeah in most cases it woudlnt even fit, the grip would be too loose, just saying not to try it...

  • @cutlerylover I have always respected you because of your videos this video alone makes me love you man, we need more dudes like you who educate and can admit their foul ups, God bless you bro and keep up the good work. You have earned my eternal respect. woot woot.

  • @IKLIPTIC ohh and no aint homo just gotta respect your brothers in the firearms world that are true to being men and not being panzies who can not admit fault.

  • Good vid I am sure this will help someone!! 5 THUMBS!! LOL

  • @lookin4memarbles lmao, 5 thumbs...I hate this new format man...whats wrong with youtube, when we finaly get use to it they change it again, haha
