I'm still happy that he says "the first four volumes." my God I can't wait for the next volumes. It honestly can't possibly get any better than this album.
and then at 1:45 everything is about to shut down and is slowing down, and dying... getting slower and weaker.. tired.. then reluctantly picks up again at 2:04.. creaking on..
This reminds me of an old clock or something really old and slow shutting down after a long sad life.. especially at 0:55 when those weird bass sounds start kicking in..
i think it's the best song on ghosts. half of the songs are crap in my opinion. Listen to Select ambient works by aphex twin he's god compared to nine inch nails ghosts. I'm a Nin fan and i realy love Downward Spiral and much of his other stuff but this isn't as good as everyone claims in my opinion

@Conqlusion19 Indeed, Ghosts are a bit more experimental than Trent's other work. But I believe that this one, and the 6th ghost, are one of the best. The song gives me room to daydream if I truly like it. I'm listening to the band you posted but might I reccomend the band Scorn and its album Evanescence? The other albums sound a bit like Ghosts do, but the evanescence album is stunning to me.
There are some vocals in this song, and it sounds like he's speaking in slow motion 'cause it's a voice with lots of bass. It sounds like he's saying "auf wiedersehen" or something... can you hear it too?
I can't believe some people were disappointed with this album.. I thought it was brilliant! When they played a few songs from Ghosts live, I didn't want it to end! The stage set up was beautiful, and it was just so soothing to the ears and eyes.
I hope, which ever direction Trent goes, he does more of this, and plays at smaller venues..so then we can just sit there and chill out to his wonderful music. hehe
you're right!!!i just checked out the vid of his trial and the sound is exactly the same one!!!it's a bit of a strike to me coz track 30 is one of my favs and i've always been wondering about that weird sound at the begging!...thanks;D
I wish there was something like a radio channle:WHERE COMPLETELY RANDOM MUSIC CREATED BY ANYONE WOULD PLAY AFTER TO ANOTHER FAMOUS ACTOR ETC, not just same bitchey spearshit after poo after dance, stupid shit music!
Smae goes for Music Television! I hate MTV allready. Stupid money ruins some stuff, besides i think they would be more ''praised'' if it was all kinda music other than pop/normal metal/dance crap.
All MTV does is shitty rap videos that all look EXACTLY ALIKE, with a few shitty half-assed punk rock artists mixed in. FUSE is starting to do the same thing, they play fucking RAP! They're the ROCK channel and they play RAP!
This is definitely my personal fave off the new album. As far as NIN instrumentals go, "A Warm Place" will always hold that crown in my mind, but this comes as a close second.
I can see why no record label would go for this kind of album. None of the songs are radio-friendly, but all of them, in my opinion, are GREAT!! It's a shame that record labels seem to care more about money than about the true potential that music can create. I know it takes money to run a business, but I just wish that there wasn't so much crap on the radio.
of course, record labels only care about the money, and artists are supposed to care about the music. The fall of all of that is with the sellout artists that buddy buddy with the record labels.
@Herbalaussie Modern day society sucks. Materialistic, money-driven people. I will never be that way. I promis myself. Happiness is so much more important. You live only once.

mmm, no D:
actually, this album only sounds perfect (and it really does) due to its oddness (only because it carries within it 36 instrumental tracks).

Yep.

I disagree. Vocals serve just as a coverup for lack of music.

ooh yeah, a warm place and leaving hope.
both relaxing and amazing songs.
ive heard most of this album and so far its turning out great!!!
i thing his piano playing is the best of anything instrumental in NIN.
his piano brings a softness to his usual songs that combine into a great harmony
