  • @AnimalGenetic Yes Strength Training does require more eating, but you will lose weight as your metabolism will increase burning the food more and using the energy to fuel your body

  • There is no such thing as loosing "belly fat". Fat cells just tend to deposit fat in specific places, such as the belly, the tights, the tits and the obliques before they start depositing it somewhere else.

    Belly fat is but an indicator of your overall body fat percentage. Exercising doesn't reduce the fat in one spot, it reduces it all around your body.

    To get a "six pack" all you have to do is exercise until your body fat percentage is low enough that it shows your abdominal muscles.

    I agree with you.

    You can work and almost kill your abs muscles every day, but if you dont do cardio at least 3-5 times a week you wont see any results anytime soon.

    Try running, jumping, speed-walking (at least) 3-5 times a week and eat less (forget dieting) and you will see results.

    I cant do crunches or sit-ups (due to a back injury) and I have lost weight and can almost see a six pack (not toned enough, but it is there).

  • a good way to get abs is to sit in the sit up pose about midway between up and down this really starts to work your core muscles. i recommend about 3-5 minutes to start and just keep doing more and more time

  • Those are just sit ups, don't they just build muscle under the fat. I mean I've done thousands of those within the past few months, and I mean don't get me wrong I can see my abs but only when I suck in.

    i agree, but those slow situps will only help to tone your ab muscles after you've burned the fat on top of it. you need to do fast, high-intensity cardio and weight resistance before you can start focusing on your ab muscles. there's no spot reduction of fat. i've lost 30 lbs, and still have some belly fat. that's because the fat deposits are usually stored in places such as the abs. speed and weight are the name of the game.

  • i have to disagree. there's no spot reduction of fat. if you're going to burn fat, you have to burn fat throughout your body. use a combination of high intensity cardio and weight resistance. if you're going to crunches, you're going to need more weight resistance. add a medicine ball/inclined bench, bicycle crunches, etc. those situps you were doing are too easy, and basically will just help to tone your ab muscles after you've burned the cutaneous fat on top of them.

  • Yeah, sit ups are such a cheat, you're using your momentum to rise, so there is less resistance. For people who want to raise abdominal strength: Instead, only go half way up. (Geez I hope you knew that already and that it was pointless to tell you)

    Momentum can also hurt your lower back.

  • I thought you had to do crunches and not full sit ups like this I guess my technique is really wrong maybe thats why i am ot seeing progress I wanr good results like getting skinny and being a size 6 or something but how>! I have to try harder. but these women are so tough!

  • Blah to your nutrition thing. I'll eat what I want! I've done it before, only reason I got belly fat is the heat wave is keeping me from going outside. You have to be crazy to go out in 100 degree weather.

  • @bananasir You really need to add cardio to your strength training. Like DarkenEdgez said, running will help get rid of the belly fat. Very generally speaking, strength training builds muscles, cardio melts fat.

  • @helenedmund so can you give mee tips cus i do cardio 8hours a week en fitniss 4hours a week for 2 years i lost alot of weigth was 202pound now im 174pound but stil i have alot of body fat :s shut i do alot of situp cus i realy wanto see good results dont wanto get ripped but just low body fat

  • @MrsZwinkyGurl you would have to burn 3500 calories,i would say about 500,but you probably wouldnt be able to walk properly after your done lol

  • Dairy is not good for you. Cows milk is for calf's. Human milk is for a human baby. If you think that milk is good for you as an adult why don't you ask your mother if you can suck on her breast for some milk. Sounds crazy doesn't it? Is drinking cows milk any less crazy?

  • Interesting since situps have been shown to be the least effective in actvating core musculature. Also, by going all the way up to a full sit position, stress is taken away from rec abdom and is distruibuted throughout skeletal system.

  • Will using a bed instead of a flat floor diminish the exercise since i have slipped discs. Im more use to weight training and gained 10 pounds of muscle in 8 months. I know using prescribed methods work better but will using my bed take longer to still lose my gut?

  • Hey Ashley (sp?) - Brilliant athletic advice indeed, Thanks for sharing. One thing you should add to your videos is some form of disclaimer wording prior to your instruction - some people have pre-existing conditions that could easily be irritated or inflamed with core niche exercises such as these. Guilty party of one *hand raised* lol. but great info and presentation, nonetheless. Can't wait to get started!
