  • The PS2 supports PSX games at 0:03

  • i read a review that said this game is bad because the defense is too good.

the defense is really good on the arcade too. i like the arcade version, so i think i would like this. i don't have it because it's hard to find and expensive.

  • I've had this for a month now and still can't put it down. I finally beat all 27 teams today to unlock the full rosters...i know there was a code, but i wanted to do it legitimately. Pretty cool stuff you get a fmv of a lot of rare plays, and then stuff like Mullin on the Warriors, Mason and Harper on the Knicks, X-Man on the Celtics, Terry Porter on Blazers, Chapman and Skiles on Bullets, Dell Curry and Gill on Hornets, Kidd on Mavs, Hill on Pistons, Cassell on Rockets, and way more!

  • And yes the players are bigger than the arcade, and NBA Hangtime, but that's one of the things listed as a "feature" on the back of the box. Also, the fatigue in this game is a huge factor, once you get shoved too many times you become very sluggish and need to be substituted. I was sad to see no goggles on Horace Grant, I remember how cool Hakeem and Horace used to look in the old arcade with goggles. I think this is the only 2D Jam game with Ron Harper on the Bulls though!

  • Oh man I finally laid down the cash for this version complete in box...WOW...this game is AWESOME. It is distinctly different from NBA Hangtime for n64, the players have a totally different feel. It is WAY harder, there are far more missed shots, tons of steals and bad passes....it is so close to the arcade version. No Barkley and Shaq of course. Also I suggest turning off the FMVs to cut back load time. This puts the SNES/Genesis versions to absolute shame. I love the pumped up difficulty!

  • they remixed the background song in this version. It keeps the awesomeness from the old times versions.

  • This version is so expensive these days

  • Music was the best part.

  • Short Ass Shorts! lol.

  • The player models are HUGE in this game! They are like giants!

  • Im back watching it agin lol!

  • Still prefer Snes Version which I owned as a kid...You have however inspired me to get on Fleabay and see if I can pick this up for my Playstation as I no longer own a Snes. Thanks, didnt even know you could get if for PS1.

  • This is for sure the closest to the arcade game but it still feels MONO instead of Stereo.. looks a little robotic.. in vocals and gameplay.. ARCADE FTW!

  • @ColorsBright No I disagree. If you compare this and the Saturn version to the arcade you'll see they went away from the arcade in the look and size of the players. They deviated from the arcade in a few ways on these versions. The Jaguar and 32x versions are IMO the two versions closest to the arcade. However the 'static' on the opening screens is spot on to the arcade, something the 32x and Jaguar dont quite have.

  • Is super sonic going to be in the super sonics?

    LOL

  • This truly is the best game there will be. Expecially for the PS3

  • wooooooOOOOOOOOOOOah...

  • its nba jam

    were are the jams

  • Kemp wasn't known for his trey shots, so you might want to keep him under the basket and let Payton deal with the threes.

Ah, the days when the Sonics were actually GOOD. Before they turned into crap, traded all their good players, then lost support in their team AND eventually the team itself.

  • the best 2 player fun ever!

  • 2:29 isn't that traveling? Nice one Mark Price haha!

  • I liked the Sound Effects of the 32X and Genesis version better

  • This and NBA Live 95 are the 2 best basketball games I have ever played

  • 0:51

    .

    That Iguana's got an upgrade

  • pLay This Game Or (Watch) It On YouTube WhiLe Listing To Michael Jackson - Jam LOL It Goes Together Alot Thumbs Up If u Think Im True Or Right :)

  • Best NBA Jam port ever.

  • Just picked this gem up today for $10. This game is, if not the best arcade sports game, one of the best. And considering the systems that this was ported to, I have a feeling the PS1 port is the most faithful to the arcade.

  • @sabombardonist The Sega Saturn version seems to be arcade accurate as well.

  • @Buapo Makes sense, due to the dedicated 2D processor in that beast. But aside from owning an arcade machine, the most common way to play this at home would be the PlayStation version. And most comfortable to play long term; the Saturn controller was not made for arcade sports games.

  • @sabombardonist Word. PS1 version is certainly more common. The analog "Knights into Dreams" controller for Saturn was quite comfortable, which was later copied for the Dreamcast controller. I use that for most of my Saturn games.

  • @Buapo I'll take your word for it, as I've never played with the analog Saturn controller, but if it's anything like the Dreamcast's, it still isn't good for arcade basketball, imo.

  • @sabombardonist Acade basketball FTW.

  • Load times suck.

  • @youngghostmack10 hell yeah cant wait till 2k11 comes out MJ the original King is back

  • i was i am and i will be the king in this game :-)

  • damn NBA JAM and NBA JAM TE were made for almost every system. SNES, Genesis, SEGA CD, Playstation, Playstaion 2, and now the new for the PS3! which in my opinion doesnt look so great. Also the music is differnet for every system and some of the coolest music ever for a video game. I would always jam to the menu screen, halftime, and the the ending music lol I still like playing it

  • @08WSChamps wii exclusive at the moment ,,im sad i dont want a wii

  • the only sports game that I owned!!! and it's awesome!!!

  • @duhanac Ditto.

  • @duhanac same here except I have the genesis version.

  • can tag mode be turned on and computer assistance turned off?

  • honestly, its more fun to play this than the new nba live or nba 2k10. Which is how sad the state of basketball gaming has gotten.

  • all these years and i still want that game for my ps2

  • wouldn't it be cool if they made a new arch rivals game?

  • this was awsome

  • i got one on saturn and even though my saturn dnt work anymore no way in hell im givin it up this is the best bball game ever

  • ha, i couldn't wait frot he wii version, i just ordered this from ebay...

  • dammit, this game now goes for a pretty penny. i'll just buy the wii version...

  • i miss my ps2 :(

  • Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but it stands for "Tournament Edition".

  • The only ones I can remember that you're missing is "From downtown!" and "At the buzzer!"

  • I have a PS3 and I have recently bought a copy of this amazing game....A dream came true

  • I had no idea it was ever on PS1

  • @jdigitalseven It was a must own on the PS1. I know it was released near the launch of the system. It came in the SEGA CD style large jewel case.

  • Don't you know that you can play ps1 games on a ps3???? Obviously this is my case ;)

  • Yes, I just thought this game was for Sega Genesis/CD, Jaguar, and SNES...I didnt know Sony had a copy too.

  • yeah i played it on a psx on 1997 or so, and I have bougth a copy recently

  • BOOM SHAKA LAKA!
