Yes This truck stay with is 4.3 .This is the original engine minus the new internal (original block ,heads intake ...)

dam my sierra has the same engine pero i knt find shit really for mods even the xaust shop told me that i didnt need a cat bak cuz the truck has a stock y pipe w two cats so i just got a super 44 flowmaster a k&n filter n cut off the bottom part of the intake box new spark plugs n msd ign wires but nothing else could you help me out !>?

they make several supercharger kits for the 4.3. I have a 4.3 in a 96 1/2 ton 4x4. it's a great little engine, but watch it if the engine is between a 96 and a 98. they made the distributor (gear and all) out of plastic. Not to mention, the Central SFI injection isn't too great, but if your going to mod it, you'd probablly replace those things.

They have a fix for that now, the cap and rotor have always been plastic, but the factory housing is plastic, which is the fatal flaw, because on the dsitrubtor the ear's that hold down the cap tend to break (plastic >_>) So there is a replacement distrubtor just for that, it cost 125 bucks after shipping for me, and it has an aluminum housing.

Either get a dyno tune or a handheld tuner. If you don't know the answer to this you should go buy a Civic.

It either takes a swap (LS1, LS2, LS6, LT1, etc.) or lots of boost. If he is trapping 118mph he probably makes close to 450rwhp. That is 280rwhp MORE than a stock 4.3L.
