This was the game I remember most about Favre. All the BS that happened at the end of his career means nothing when I think about this game. To go into someone else's house espeacially the black hole and torch the opposing team the day after you father passes away??? Greatest performance ever in my honest opinion.
@jeffbrister2004 Well they went to the Super Bowl the year before and they had Charles Woodson and I'm sure there is no argument that he is one of the best cornerbacks of all time.
WHEN PEOPLE SAY AARON RODGERS BETTER THEN FARVE I LAUGH OUT LOUD A-ROD IS GREAT BUT FARVE IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL GOT EVEY PASSING RECORD OUT THERE SO HANDS DOWN FARVE THE BEST
Favre's statement starting at :11 "for about 5 minutes"..etc. but the most powerful part of that statement at :21-:25 when Brett says "and that's truly what he would've wanted me to do"
I remember this game like it was yesterday. I am a lifelong Raider fan.... and I remember, when he threw that first touchdown to the corner of the endzone... I KNEW that he was going to have an incredible game. From that point on in the game I was cheering him on.
It was incredible to witness that. And the Raiders fans are some of the classiest fans in the NFL... but no one really believes me when I say that.
I'm a hardcore Raider's fan and always want to win, but even I wanted to see him succeed. That was a truly special thing to get support from Oakland, and that's not heard of in Oakland! My Dad was at this game and they all cheered after he scored, which was a lot. Truly special and rare moment.
@VikeFan284296 You're right....if someone in Brett's family dies, he'll step up and play hard - be the best around. If it were playoffs? You'd best look at his history of game (and thus, season) ending picks :(
I love Brett Favre! I thank him for everything he gave to the Packers, he didn't leave under the best of circumstances, but what he did for our franchise will NEVER be forgotten! Favre, you will always have a spot in this Packer Backers heart!
WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, AND I DO MEAN WITH ALL DUE RESPECT. THAT WAS A HORRIBLE, EVEN BRUTAL RAIDERS TEAM. I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND LIKE A HEARTLESS DICK, BUT THAT IS WHAT HE GETS PAID TO DO. I HAD TO WATCH THAT RAIDER TEAM ALL YEAR. THAT SECONDARY WAS COLLEGE-LIKE. BRETT FAVRE HAD 100 GAMES BETTER THEN THIS ONE!!!!
@megametsfan 100 games better than this one? You're insane. This is one of, if not THE, most memorable Favre game ever. 400 yards, 4 touchdowns, nearly perfect completion percentage, 41-7 win. And a day after his dad dies. Name one better game.
For a non Raider to get a strong sustained standing Ovation when he came on, and then even longer with loud cheers after the game. This was after Favre torched the Raiders for 400 yards, 4 TDs, and a 41-7 Packer win. For Brett to get a sustained standing ovation in Oakland of all places is a testament to his strength as a player. Amazing game amazing guy.
Greatest game of football ever played? i remember balling like a 3 year old girl watching this game. I really hope all the drama of the past few years doesn't ruin the reputation of this guy who has single-handedly instilled in me a great love for the game of football
I remember this game. On the 2010 ESPY Awards, Brett told a great story of how his high school coach told the team, "We will be doing a lot of rushing plays this year because, well, we're not a very good passing team." That high school coach was Brett's Dad.
im always ALWAYS gonna be a PaTS fan, but this guy is a fuckin legend,, he picked up his stones,, stuck em betwen his legs and in this game, showed em off to the whole world!!! absoloutely amazing,,,
Best single game performance by any plqyer of all time in my book. No one else but Brett Favre could have had a night like this one. Say what you want about him but you can't argue with whatvhe has done on the football field.
This was and still is to me Brett Favre's best game he ever played in his entire career. He is and will always be one of the best quarterbacks to have played the game when he does finally hang up his uniform.
How this team rose to the occasion for their hurting team-mate is beautiful. They had each other's back like no other.
Let's see the Redskins or Cowboys or Bills or even Steelers do that for one of their own. That's why The Packers are the greatest team. Because they are a TEAM.
Everytime I watch this I tear up. I dont know how Brett found the strength to play in that game after loosing his father. That game he truly played his heart out
I am doing a term Paper on Him, and every time i think about How the way He was around His team mates and the way He acted in other games, is just astonishing. He is a man that deserves a lot of respect. Not just because He can throw unbelievable Bombers to his WR''s...But because of the way He acts, and treats people. He is truly a Remarkable Man. Even though He may not have much left in Him, i would love to see him come back for one more year. God Bless That Man !!!
Every time I watch this I tear up. There's just something so special about an athlete playing their heart out following the loss of a loved one. Nothing in the world can match that.
Incredible. The guy has stones bigger than basketballs, i hope we get to see another year of the legend that is favre. And there should be a movie too when hes done. Legend
