Thanks for the video. Looking to buy my first gun, and this will probably be the one. (first of many). Heard this was good for developing good habits if you're a noob like me.
@cdawg4391 I think it has something to do with what ammo you are using, how you hold it, and your strength. Most videos I see show very little recoil, but one showed significant. I think he was holding it one-handed.
@blackhawk7206 I have owned one of these with 5.5 bull barrel and after a few hundred rounds of breaking it in I have had no jamming, cycling issues at all...when i used round nose lead ammo ( it was on sale)..I had some feeding issues, but I took my dremmel tool and polished the feed ramp no more issues...
on the old school Standard and Mark 1 the safety works as a bolt stop. you draw it back and hold it on fire and the switch it to safe and it stays, putting it back to fire drops it. my fathers mark 2 doesnt have a bolt stop at all tho
Love my Ruger 22/45 mark 3. the loaded chamber indicator is a bit stupid since we always safety check our firearms. That said, I had a gunsmith/friend of mine fabricate a 1911 grip mod on mine to accept 1911 grip panels through standard 1911 bushings. Changes the dynamics of the pistol and makes it a real shooter. Love the Ruger series of .22 rimfire pistols. Accurate, and a great way to introduce people into the sport of bullseye pistol. Cheers my friend.
He doesn't ship to Canada but had a life friend bring it to me from the US. Canadian customers...get American friends:o)) He delivered the goods and a holster that makes the gun.
The Ruger's are excellent pistols and really "overbuilt". hence they last for generations. Nothing better than a Battlecloth holster to put it in. You will find that with the standard 5.5 inch bull barrel, the holster will be a bit long. About 1.5 inches. To me this is a good thing since it protects the muzzle crown from a drop on a craggy piece of rock or whatever. Uncle Mikes is nothing. He designs specialty holsters and I am amazed at the quality.
Want a good holster for check out Battlecloth. You can check him out on AR15.com maybe if he is still there. Made in The US (I'm from Canada). I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. Awesome field holster for this pistol. Battlecloth@comcast.net. I think his name is Steve if I remember. Really cool holster!
#1 handgun used by the Mafia, Ruger and .22 are hard to beat! Two behind the ear and almost impossible to match the bullets with so many .22s out there.
@SBEbenelli2 Man it's crazy how many people tell me I sound like someone else. That's the first time I've heard that one though. Someone even said I sound like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. Thanks and thanks for watching. Shoot safe!

Why basically no recoil? I've shot the .22 ruger and it has about a 2-3 inch recoil/kickback.

@zrandeb123
Really the same gun internally. Just different materials and feel in hand. Just depends on what you prefer to shoot.

Trigger Discipline dude... Waving a loaded, cocked firearm around with your finger on the trigger= Poor Idea.

What has anyone heard about the S&W A2

Would you say the Ruger 22/45 would be relatively easy to find brand new?
hahaland74 1 year ago
@hahaland74 Up until a couple months ago my local dealer had 4 different models of it in the case, so, yeah.

Nice pistol. Have you found a good holster for it?
ReDact45 2 years ago
I carry it in a universal shoulder holster from Uncle Mike's. It works but it's not great. Can't remember the size for sure.

Stainless fluted would have been my choice too but I got this on a trade so I took it.
MrSurgicalPrecision 2 years ago
Got one just like it about two months ago, except in stainless. Love it.
