@tomiettinen This was recorded during the How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb sessions 2003-2004. I agree, this is superior to NLOTH! U2 played this sporadically during the 360 tour. The reason this wasn't on the album was, allegedly, due to time contraints..not enough room on the CD....go figure. Great song however!

2 things:

1. Let's not tell Bono what to sing on stage; what to include, what to leave out. It's his song, he knows it more intimately than anybody here - he'll change the words if he chooses. This 'perfect' version is already here for the purists. Let's not turn fandom into Demandom.

2. A 'new' album with 'old' songs? Mercy is a song that firmly belongs in the noughties. U2 should move on again into a new sound for a new decade. Electrical Storm didn't have a true album to call home either.
