  • This is the best video ever posted in all of history!

  • i agree sergi, it's awesome when the crowd starts singing.

the best part of this song is the intro. never can get enough of when he cries out "thundercrack" and the drums kick in.

  • 23/9/09 - 60 yrs. young... happy birthday Boss!

  • sieblaka? kupin jera

  • tolle Musiker, toller Song!!

  • WOW,

Vivino just deserves a better life, just another italian for the e street band....

they clearly have what it takes..

  • 1:22...LOVE when he goes to start the Sha na Ohs and the crowd is already so loud he is taken back...remember being there this night and how much this song brought the house down...Vivino plays a hell of guitar in one of the best duals I've seen Bruce in (20+shows)...always loved the Xmas shows, they were special

  • Where's Stevie?

  • this was a holiday show in 03, he did this show with the max weinberg 7 and other memebers of e street

  • Only the greatest song ever and this is actually a good version of it.... i saw him do this live accoustically a long time ago

  • Bruce Come back to Belgium ..

    hhooo...

    Thundercrack Baby's Back !! alright good !!!.!!!

  • Im just 12 and my daddy loves bruce so i heard it alldays and now i love ThunderCrack 2 but other songs off bruce 2 ... magic ... born in the USA =)

  • such great guitar

  • This video makes me smile!

  • i have just discover this song and I love it! The version I like the most is the one that come as a bonus with the dvd on the making of Born to run... The Boss for ever!

  • sexy the "Boss"? Oda?

  • Does anyone know - FOR CERTAIN - whose deep voice says "Baby's Back" in this performance (at about 6:53)? It sounds like Clarence but I'm assuming it's not him since the backup back here is the MMW7, right? (I didn't see any shots of him playing either which would be unheard of if he was performing.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • love this video

  • This is amazing, the song and the boss, astonishing as always

  • I think I must be a full Bruce tragic. How much fun in that song.Personally, I can't think of a bad song (by Bruce). Sometimes my fav album is Tom Joad. It's all good. Come to Australia again Bruce.

  • godlike.

  • Sounds like a Dylan song.

  • There's potty mouth for ya. Keep your name calling to yourself Joshua or continue to embarrass yourself.

First, I was referring to the beginning of the song. Secondly, go read about the background of this song and what led Springsteen to write it...then you will change your name to "mynamesdouchebag"

  • If you can suggest a credible source for the background of this song, I'd appreciate it. (I checked Wikipedia but there was no information listed.) I really enjoy the song and would love to learn the story behind it (since that will make the lyrics that much more personal). Thanks!

  • The was a sexploitation film in the early 70s called THUNDERCRACK. RAMROD was another cheapie film that gave Bruce a title. Of course THUNDER ROAD was a film title, but that was a step above Thundercrack and Ramrod, in that it was a "B" movie.

  • Thanks! DO you have any factual information on whose deep, bass voice says "Baby's Back" in this performance (at about 6:53)? I posted a question about that six+ months ago and no one seems to know. I doubt it is Clarence since Bruce's backup for this performance was the MMW7. Any ideas?

  • Oops, meant to say "Ramrodder" (1969).

  • u hav got 2 love that solo! great song!

  • yeah, not steve, ive never seen steve playing a gibson, let alone a crappy sg

  • i played an sg in the late 60's-early 70's...while they're not great, i didn't find them "crappy." i would reserve THAT evaluation for the basic (unmodified) telecaster.

  • Excellent!!! I heard it's rare Bruce ever plays this song live ever....Nice version too... Band sounds as good as ever....

  • It's Jimmy Vivino of the Max Weinberg 7.

Love where Bruce has to wipe the sweat off his nose and does that little smile!

  • They are doing this song again on the current tour - did it in the rehearsal last night in Asbury Park. Classic!

  • Nice guitar work in the middle with Bruce and Miami Steve (about 5:00 to 6:50)

  • That isn't Steve Van Zandt - not sure offhand who it is, but it definitely is Miam Steve

  • It is great to see performances of the early songs!

  • I love this song...its just great fun and great to dance to1

  • I am living for the day I will see this LIVE. "Maybe" this "last" ESB Tour coming up later in the year and into 2008. Bring it on. BRRRUUUCE.

  • He IS playing this on the 2007-2008 tour. Can't swear it's at every show, but it was done in the two I saw (Continental Arena & Madison Square Garden) in October 07.

  • loved that!!! thanks!

  • yankeespy you are truly sad

  • gaffage, Come on. When you listen to his CDs, you know you skip past a lot the songs because they are lame.

  • Before Rosalita, this was Bruce's big showstopper. Great song. Thanks!

  • yanks i hope your kiding

  • look out for the piano version of this one

  • Great song, Great Band, Great post!

  • Great tune. Love it when he realizes that the crowd knows the backing vocal! LOVE IT!

  • As I recall Bruce wisely decided to leave this off "Born to Run." Max's band performs well, but the song is not one of Bruce's best.

  • I know your kidding! Right?

  • Moocow, I'm a big Bruce fan but even I must admit that about half of his songs are weak. Thundercrack is one of them.

  • Never, he has a handfull of bad songs, and for the amount of songs he has wrote, that is amazing.

  • Thundercrack! BABY'S BACK!!! Oh how I wish he were on tour!!!!

  • This is the bes tvideo ever posted. Setting the history of the song aside, the dualing leads with Bobby B are worth the price of admission. ...All Night

  • That's Jimmy Vivino not Bobby Bandiera

  • Thanks. My bad. Incredible performance.

  • Just two words: THE BOSS.

  • even them dance hall hacks from the west side of the tracks move in close to catch her timing... the dignity he gives women is unreal. I hope people understand this

  • Great song , never saw present full band version till now,.. Have the 73 version on DVD..

  • I was at this christmas show 2 years earlier and when South Side Johnny came out the place went insane... what a concert that was. WOW

  • looked like an amazing show
