you should have gone SLI with 9800GTX's. and also you need a LOT of wire management. water cooling would also be a plus with this. if youre gonna spend $500 on a processor y not get liquid cooling and oc the hell out of that, bring it to like 4.6GHz.

Well.. Your hardware is ok - Better than mine - But your PSU 850 watts? Man, in your system 500 watts would be enough. So you could have saved some money. And the Q6600 would have been fast enough, too.. Just OC it a bit and you get it over 3 GHz ;)

And yes - There WAS a QX6700 with 2,66 GHz and 1066 MHz FSB, but the Q6700, which you can buy now, is the same CPU. The x just means, that the CPU is currently one of the fastest ;)

Trust me: A good 500 watts power supply unit would be good enough. BeQuiet! for example, or Enermax, or like in your system a (smaller) OCZ. NoName or cheap PSUs with 500 watts are not comparable with PSUs of quality manufacturers.. I'm sure - Your system does not need more than 400 watts in load ;)

I was wrong few times commenting that video. I did compare my 8800GTS 640mb and 8800GTX Ultra, and Ultra is about 2 times better. But about procesor... well i overclocked my CPU from 2,13Ghz to 2,66Ghz and it almost didnt change my framerate in Crysis! So I change my mind about buying 8800GTS Ultra, coz its really good, but those very expensive quad CPU is waste of cash for gamer. Maybe if u use it to converting or something, then it will be a lot faster.

i believe the santa ana is an opteron processor. i heard they overclock really good and are cheap (130) and are am2. they come already clocked at 2.6GHz and have 2MB cache.

oops sorry almost marked it as spam. anyway, a 4000+ uses the brisbane core. one bad thing is that it doesn't report the right temperature. go in the bios and it'll tell you what the real temperature is. my brisbane goes around 25 C on stock at idle and it runs at 35 C with full power. you know you could just upgrade to a santa ana processor.
