i thought it was a bit sloppy. im only 16 and our group of 5 of us 16 and 17 play twice a week ina brass band and then one 30 mins quintet practice on top of that. we never have a conductor because we trust each other. i play the french horn and tenor horn myself, i thought the french horn was very good, i like the none facial movement , trumpets shouldnt blow out lips. If its a problem you probably dont know it but try a bigger mouthpiece, it might be a great idea. construstive critism is good.
i played the first peice in a couple of churches and the acoustics are amazing. Tuba player should have been more confident to give a greater sound but all very accurate!
The trumpets are great tone but the trombone takes the show away with mad skill. trumpet on the left needs to breath. Tuba's face doesn't move on the lower notes to the higher ones. French horn is the best face movement will a stiff face
i know exactly what you mean. quintet, all state auditions, solo and ensemble ect... they really get you to play and even if you don't make it in or get a good score, the personal improvement is worth it 100%.
1st trumpet and trombone need to back of quite a bit. Horn should play out more. AMAZING JOB!!! balance is the only serious issue. Loved it!

i agree, im in 8th grade and we played that piece way more better. trust your fellow players guys. AND GET A NORMAL SIZED TUBA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

This quintet was the thing that really got me into practicing more. Before I couldn't play very well at all. I've gotten better since then.
