I don't know why but, having watched this I have a strange feeling that he is a homosexual. Not that I have something against gays, not at all. Still, I am confused and the more I think of it, the more I am perplexed. Something in his behavior, in his movements, his gaze, tells me that he is a gay. But I'm not sure, can't pinpoint it. Anyway, they guy is fascinating to me - a girl. He has something that can mesmerize you. And his voice - delicate, elegant, clipped voice. Mysterious man, I think.

the ending means both, i would like to belife he was an incorporeal alien wich took the body of robert wich had a big trauma. thats why when he supposly returns to k-pax the body is left behind, for me it makes sense.

@fumaporros789 Exactly right. He took his body to keep him from committing suicide. When he went back to K-Pax , the body was left behind.

Best movie I hae ever seen....If you get it the message and the experience are powerful..

ARGHHH i love this film so much it allways makes me cry and KS is one of the best actors alive. but i always thought that i was just in a bit of denial about the ending and he wasnt an alien.. i just wanted to think he was. BUT THIS ALTERNATE ENDING YOU SPEAK OF!!. eee

The sequel wouldnt be as good as the original. It would ruin the original movie. Maybe its best to leave it as it is.

There is no movie sequel, but there are 3 more books after K-PAX that explain everything that happen after K-PAX, and yes, prot come's back :)

It goes:

3. The Worlds of prot

4. K-PAX IV: A New Visitor From The Constellation Lyra

If you like prot and want to know what happens later, read the books.

When I saw this in theaters, I saw the "deleted scenes" version where Prot DISAPPEARS at the end - FOR GOOD, body and all! There was NO shot of Prot under the bed and no "wheelchair ending" in the movie I saw in theaters. Watch the DVD deleted scenes, note the surveillance VCR scence and the scene where they are searching the hospital. That's what I saw in theaters! (NOT to be confused with the "alternate ending" feature on the DVD.) Did anyone else see the version I describe?
