  • Tetsuya Ota

  • 2 people I feel sorry for - 1: the driver of the burning car, 2: the RE Amemiya driver. first there's the race-having something the size of the Eiffel tower blocking your view as you drive straight into a fire to help someone who got caught in an explosion. Fair play to him

  • I hope that Shinichi Yamaji (the RE Amemiya RX-7 driver) got some kind of fair play and sportsmanship medal because what he did saved Ota's life and not many (if any) drivers would stop to help you in such a event. Cheers to him!

  • stupid marshals

  • 0:13 the RE Amemiya RX-7 of Shinichi Yamaji stopped in front of the Ferrari while the other cars drove on, he took a fire extinguisher from his own car to extinguish the fire and then helped to release Ota's safety harness before marshals arrived

  • fuck thats scary, thats gotta be the worst thing that can happen in racing, getting trapped and burned.

  • He was unable to function his right arm, right shoulder and fingers properly, causing an end to his professional career.

stop guessing it is all in wikipedia if u guys wanna know more.... just type his name, Tetsuya Ota in wiki....

  • Ota was trapped in his car for almost 90 seconds while exposed to 800-degree temperatures, while his charred visor melted on his face.

[3] Ota was taken to a hospital in Gotemba[3] where he was treated for third-degree burns to his face and neck area and minor burns to the rest of the body, but was fortunate to survive. He required plastic surgery to the nasal area as a result of the visor melting on his face. He also suffered from intoxication from the fumes he inhaled from the fire.

  • wow, RX-7 retired from race to help burning race car. you can't see this every day!

  • i think its RE-Amemya RX-7 aspara drink if i could know year but im not so sure.

  • Maybe a `99 or an `03..

I'm not so sure. I'm only going by What I've seen.

  • i need a massage

  • the guy in the yellow Corvette car saved the driver of the red Ferrari

  • isnt that yellow car RX7?

  • not a corvette and not a ferrari. the red car is a nissan skyline and the yellow is a

    re-amemiya rx-7

  • oh... the red one is ferrari.

  • red on is F355gt..

  • i think its a 550M

  • subtitles says 355gt.. sorry bro..

  • yeah a second AFTER I POST THE COmment i was like DOH!

  • Dam what happened?

  • is the guy in the flaming GT dead???

  • must be dead and he can be ghost rider :D

  • lol!!! that made me laugh though, "ghost rider".. hahahha, anyway, someone replied at me, and he's still not dead. he lost an eye, and a some mulfunctions on his right arm.. his still do ameature races

  • He didn't die... Tetsuya Ota. When he left the car, he didn't have any nose on his face. Now he is living a good regular life with a new one nose (thanks to the plastic operation).

  • what was he suppose to do.??? get out in the fog and risk being hit at 140 mph and cause another crash all to try and help a guy in a blazing car when clearly, he is not a fireman, nor is he a doctor, hes a fucking racing car driver you twat.. thatd what the fkn paramedics and the fire brigade are for!! and the guy survived btw,

  • I'm with you on this one... Stopping and getting out of the car on the track in that weather is almost insane.

  • @nolanbowling under red flag you dont risk much

  • if u actually watch a full video of that incident, u would kno that the "firemen" and "ground marshals" didnt do jack shit and pretty much watched that guy burn alive... the only reason he is alive today is because of Shinichi Yamaji, the driver of the yellow RE Amemiya RX-7 ... hes the driver that pulled over and extinguished the fire himself and got the tetsuya out safely

  • It seems like with all the technological advancements we have made in saftey that many marshals don't seem to be as concerned as they should. I still say that parking the car on the track on a rainy day with low visibility is a bad idea but the fact of the matter is the marshals should have reacted to the situation faster.

  • yeh ive seen some pretty insanely dumb track firemen in my time., granted all on tv but i still dont understand why they use water on chemical fires. i mean of all the people you would expect to know their stuff when it comes to fires you would definately bet on firemen.

  • @nolanbowling british marshals are the best cos their volunteers, paid marshals in other countrys sometimes just arent up to the task.

  • @NiGhtMarEs0nWax i see where you are coming from but it didn't stop david purley when he got out of his car to save his friend roger williamson. Now he had the guts to atleast try to save him. RIP roger

  • I can't believe this asshole with the onboard camera accelerates after passing the explosion

  • He is not an asshole for not stopping. He probably would have caused more accidents if he did. Plus thats why you have marshalls and Fire Brigade. Racers race. thats what they get paid to do.

  • Wow that was some good driving avoiding that wreck!

  • wow. frightening onboard.
