One of life's great pleasures is to know Gomez. Sit and listen with a smug grin on your face, safe in the knowledge that you are experiencing pure brilliance, whilst sparing a thought for those sadly missing out as they listen elsewhere.
Only 37,154 views. Shocking. Gomez deserve much more appreciation than that. Scroll down once more when you type this in and selena gomez has 76 million odd views? Outrageous. This coming from a 13 year old.
@MaggieGillespiexx I prefer then to be somewhat un-listened to, i've seen them about 10 times and every time i've had a great gig with no commercial loving assholes there to spoil it :)
you start realizing the huge message they have for you in this song. my favourite line is "could not look son house in the eye". if you know who son house is, this line should kick you in the nuts. that's how powerful it is. the r'n'b alibi is just an excuse for people to shake their booties on TV screens and produce the same thing over and over again without creative input. "try anything twice, anyone can try anything twice" - genius disguised in a mocking r'n'b-styled song by gomez. genius.
@xavierslowhand son house was a legend. he was for example the mentor of robert johnson, who is considered the grandfather of all modern american music (jazz, soul, rnb, rock...) and he played very emotional, raw music. he was an artist in every right, and if you search for his music, you will often feel very moved by his music. his music is a struggle, it's painful, it's happy, it's emotional.
today's rnb? it's just drum machines and auto-tuned voices - not even singing or art!
@sinprelic Oh right, cheers mate, yeah I am a huge blues fan, i love RJ, and am a huge clapton freak too, but i havent really gotten into son house, im more of the chicago than the delta!, but i will check him out, thanks!!
@xavierslowhand oh yeah trust me, i started off with revivalists like stevie ray vaughan, robert cray, went down through to buddy guy, bb and albert king, john lee hooker, all thouse guys... and then through them back to the delta blues, you know, muddy and the checker/chess records family. only one step away from the delta, there! it is really worth spending a month or two on just listening to delta blues records, they were the heart of music change for the western world.
They have been touring a lot in the US, made quite a lot of fans there and released their 6th album 'A New Tide' a couple of months ago. They're now on tour in Europe and played some shows opening for Pearl Jam. (!!!) I'll be seeing them for the 3rd time this year in November. They still kick massive arse live, so go and see them if you can.

the limited views proves the idiocy of today's dominant musical taste....thank you, Gomez, for making music for people who know what music should be

the first line of the the lyrics i believe is referring to how easy to make melodies with the blues chord pattern.
