  • nice piece of shit

  • lol im thinking 'i wonder if this thing runs well' until he said its running windows vista. then i started laughing lmao.

  • in the world of tablet PCs ..the VAIO P barely glows now... I knew it wouldn't be a hit, even in the niche catagory. Sorry ...Sony...not every innovation of yours can guarantee success . (hats off to your walkman though :D )

  • hey , nice video. i just got the new vaio p series in green, i made an unboxing video and also giving it away on my channel. chek it,.

  • its not hdmi, its sony i/o port

  • such a nice colwer, never saw in the market , the pc is so good except that we can only make it s scram on size 8 and 9 and not 10, the size is so good only 635 gr for the 60 MB . but i only find the profisional one of 120 MB in irland and france. one more thing it is not delivered with the tv cabel, using only the web botton we cannot change the screem size, the price is so good 900 euros for the famillier ,1100 euros for the professional one.

  • such a nice colwer i never saw iot in the market ,and the pc is so good except that we can only make it s scram on size 8 and 9 and not 10, the size is so good only 635 gr for the 60 MB . but i only find the profisional one of 120 MB in irland and france. one more thing it is not delivered with the tv cabel

  • If you're a writer like me or do any other not-so-cpu-intensive work, this machine is brilliant. The width makes it much more comfy to type on than other netbooks and the specs are more than enough for office/surf type work. I write in fullscreen mode to utilize most of the screen space and it works brilliant.

  • Where can I get 1 in Australia?

  • I luv my vaioP! As I am now typing this comment with Ubuntu karmic 9.10 on my vaioP:-)

  • This really should have Touchscreen capabilities...I have an HP Pocket pc from 1998...Utilizes Windows CE. The overall size is even smaller than This Sony, and it even Has Touchscreen. You'd think the the screen would be to small, but actually - it would be Awful if it didnt. Same as this..Havint to use a small mouse for that small of a NetBook - it would be a lot nicer if it had a touchscreen.

  • this is probably the future smart phone when the battery is improve

  • the ac adapter is heavy

  • very slow computer

  • wow this is very cool coo!

  • where can i get the 699E or 799L model? I CANT FIND IT

  • hmmi am soo lonelyy any one up for some chatting with a cute girl

  • Touchtype? I use the Viao P and am telling you, touch type is impossible. And i am a guy with small hands, and i have been touchtyping since college

As for people praising its resolution. Its resolution is the main killer. U can barely read anything. The reason i never visit YouTube from ViaoP is because i can never read the comments, video info etc. Text is so darn small, u have to keep this thing close to your eyes.

doesnt it make u think that its resolution is giving you so much discomfort?

  • @MikeMessiah Use the zoom feature in the browser! All browser offer a zoom feature! Also, any vertical resolution below 768 is useless! Most application require a resolution of 768 or higher!

  • @MikeMessiah this is the kind of people that we need! people who tell us the truth, thanks men i was thinking in buying this pc but now i wont

  • I remember 8" screens used to be the size of the original Netbook screens and even then those were on a resolution of around 800x600 this baby has 1600x768 and people are complaining lol. Even the majority of netbooks released today still offer a mediocre 1024x600. Sony really out done themselves with this form factor. If you think its pricey, you're not really the intended market for this.

  • @grey2fox

those that complaint dont know how to lower their resolution on their machine XD

  • Are notebooks compatible with microsoft WORD?

  • @LittleMiss94 only windows

  • Does anyone know if you can get internet access with this pc mostly anywhere, and do you have to pay for the internet fee?

  • @KissMyAssSon You can get wi-fi access where you can find access points, but in terms of the Verizon Broadband when you want internet everywhere, yeah, gotta pay for it.

  • beastie20,

Thanks for taking the time and letting me know. Appreciate it.

  • i would go crazy with that its so small

  • who the fck would wanna watch HD vidz on an 8" screen anyway? For those w/ common sense..HD quality is better appreciated on larger screens.

  • optically, it's the same field of view:

    big screen + large distance

    small screen + small distance

  • @kinmanyuen yes, i completely understand that. But my previous rant was directed at people(speakers on this vid?) looking for "HD" on a device w/ a tiny screen. Most people I know APPRECIATE the details of HD-quality videos on much larger screens....like Texas Stadium jerrytron size!! haha

  • lmao hdmi

  • you guys are comparing it to normal home use laptops, notice the "p" meaning portable?! well that means your not supposed to heavily use the device like its a desktop!!

  • I find it perfect for typing notes or browsing in class, then sticking it in my jacket pocket.

Unless you were being stupid and editing video or playing demanding games this does everything you'd expect from an average laptop without needing a bag.

  • that thing while extremely portable is just too pricey

  • £529 is about the price of an average laptop.

  • these guys are morons... this is embarrassing. thats not hdmi its the port for the power/lan adapter...

    these guys are downies.

  • i want a window 7 which is better use less ram ^^

  • Hoo much is that computer?

    and does it have Wi-fi?

  • its 1900 to much

  • $850.00 at the sony website and yes it has wi-fi.

  • it's too expensive netbook (800-900 euro)Yes have wi fi connection but if you wanna buy it don't do it because with 800-900 euro u can buy 1 of the best laptop

    Sorry for my english

  • You wouldnt be buying this if you wanted a high performance laptop, high performance laptops can not fit in pockets.

    Never call it a netbook.

  • It has n-WiFi, the fastest, I got mine for £529 about 7-8 months ago but the new ones are 2GHz and cost alot more.

  • this sucks , check out nikia booklet 3g

  • Everythings great.. apart from having vista on a 1.6 ghz processor. lul. Would be sweet if it had a 9400M too.

  • Battery Type : Standard Capacity Lithium-ion Battery

Estimated Battery Life : Up to 3.5 hours Standard Capacity Battery Up to 7.0 hours Large Capacity Battery

    Taken from the Sony site.

  • Wow a netbook. Let me instruct you about them. They don't have any cd drives not ONE of all the ones invented by now. If you want a CD drive, buy an external one... =]

  • actualy i managed to get a factory reconditiond as new one on ebay for £360 and saw another go for £300 bargin! that was the 1.3ghz version of course but still cheapest i've seen them anyware even at used they tend to go for £400+ my one should be with me tomorrow :D then i need to remove vista and put a better os on it lol

  • Nice interrupting cameraguy... -.- Learn some social-skills.

  • Problems:

    - When typing there is a tendency to tap the nipple and move ur typing to where ever the cursor is.

    - Same problem with the spacebar and mouse keys.

    - Video playback issues and load time issues with Vista.

If you can get over the first two points and install either win7 or XP on it.. you are in business!

    I have orderd the 2Ghz version :)

  • hey bro one question... do you recomend this laptop?? it work good??? thanks bro....!!!

  • @jogmark

I ordered the 2ghz.. 128SSD... 2GB ... with a win7 upgrade.. for $1000.. it is with my gf atm in Japan... she has it and is demo-ing it with me on skype.. but she is giving me subjective information not objective so i'll answer u when I go up there to japan... sorry...

  • u know how to adjust fond's in windows? don't U?

    8)

  • too high resolution can be a problem

  • Is this lil thing worth it? its like the most expencive out of them all. Is it the best one?

  • I just bought a black one, and I don't like the mouse. I wish it had a touchpad instead like standard laptops.

  • Where would the trackpad go? Either the keyboard would have to be smaller/more cramped or the PC would have to be bigger.

  • I was thinking the same thing! the track point mouse is like the IBM Thinkpad! I absolutely love track pointers! I'm so used to them, to a new user I'm sure it takes some playing with to get used to. But its more like thinking where you want the mouse to go for haha. I always wished sony would use mice like this. But especially for this portable PC, it is practical so they can put such a beautiful keyboard for the size

  • Better price point would be US $699 considering the "netbook" market is generally between the US $299 to $449 price points and you will likely have the faster Atom N270 1.6GHz, XP should have been the OS of choice, Vista is a resource hog! I guess you are paying a premium for the design and 1600x768 res display.

  • macbook does have right click if you hit command + click

  • not comman but ctrl

  • you can easily set a touch setting to be a right click

  • sexy..!!

  • oooovvvvvveeeeerrrrrrppppppprrrrriiiiiiiccccceedddd

  • Is the mouse thingy easy to handle? coz I'm not sure about it

  • It doesn't use a touchpad like Super Sized Laptops but you can handle it... it just uses like a ball one... it's kinda hard, but you will get used to it..

  • It's OK once one gets used to it.

BTW IBM Thinkpads have track-points for years, so the idea is not unique to Sony.

  • a macbook is much better

  • yes! thats what i have! its awesome

  • MacBook has NO RIGHT CLICK... WTF!?

  • yes it does

  • Macbooks and Macbook Pros have no left click button either. :)

There is no need for separate right and left click buttons with a multi-touch trackpad.

  • wow! that's great

  • the one for europe will be 1,3ghz with 80gb 4200rpm hdd :( (see sonystyle europe)

  • The spec for this computer is terrible. Japan and Europe have a 1.6ghz and a 1.83ghz Intel Atom option while the US is stuck with a shitty 1.3ghz version.

    I'd so buy a 1.83ghz with a 64GB SSD rather than a 128GB SSD in an instant.

  • Its very hard to get a 1.6 in the UK, I havent seen one on the street only 1.3

  • Lucky for you, you guys atleast got the 1.6ghz option. The only way for us to get in the States is by going to Europe or Japan and buy it. Or buying one overseas.

  • Extremely good looking, designers at apple are probably jealous...That's the only thing it has going for it though, you can get two better-speced netbooks for the same price as one of these. And isnt the point of netbooks to be cheap?

  • no the point is to be small, cheap is just a lucky extra. while these things are expensive, they do have a 128GB SSD in them, and they cost more than most netbooks by themselves

  • selon moi, les touches sont beaucoup trop espacés

  • humor and a review what i need

  • I'm selling a Vaio, visit my channel for more information, its a VGN - SZ650N, in carbon fiber and with LED Backlit screen of 3 millimeters

  • ps3 s wireless keyboard has a better pad than this....

  • macbook white, air or sony viao p?

  • In terms of portability the choice is obvious.

  • I hate navigating with a nipple. Touchpad FTW!

  • NIPPLE?

  • A nipple, funny name for a trackpoint XD LMAO

In this size devices: touchscreen FTW! ;p

  • @dfoggin

  • gracias hermano

    paz :)

  • alguien sabe que precio tiene en dolares

    o en euros?

    gracias .

    paz :)

  • ...im not that good in espanol so

    Sony Vaio $900

    Acer Aspire One $350

    same specs

  • i really agree.. acer aspire one is cool.. so is the HP mini.

  • yo puedo responderte esa pregunta...

  • vista sucks ass

  • Since when did MAC sell a mini notebook???

  • They havent. Read the title. SONY.

  • your retarded

  • I wasn't talking to you

  • This shit is a waste of money for a Intel Atom Laptop,

I saw the price and it's pretty simillar(& ceaper) price to d Sony Vaio CS Series,

Don't bother to buy it unless you're a ritch ass person

  • if it goes under 500 $ it would be a pretty good deal for people who only need mobility

  • yo quiero unaa.

es compatible el windows XP?? esq prefiero el XP q el vista

  • no habla espanol, pero, si es compatible con el windows XP y prefiero el vista

  • Seeing Sony come out with something like this really makes me look forward to what they could do with the next PSP, which is pretty much Sony's smallest multi-function electronic device.

  • i have an acer aspire one if it is little and some times dificult to see what im doing think what will happend with the vaio p!!! it will be unconfortable

  • this is a very nice video

  • can i format it to make it windos XP

  • Don't bother, I expect you can, but wait for Windows 7 as it is supposed to run much better on Netbooks then Vista or XP.

  • really hen so i can star saving money?

  • lol i think u have the Acer.

  • nop i have a HP-mini :P

  • Sony Vaio $900

    Acer Aspire One $350

    same specs

  • No, this has vista preloaded. but i think the best netbook is either the aspire one, or the hp mini note.

  • wow its slow! my ipod touch can run youtube in less than 1 sec!

  • thats because ur ipod has most of youtube built in to it and you may be closer to ur wifi than the netbook is so it might not have the greatest connection and dont judge it just because youtube was slow it can run more things than ur shitty ipod touch can

  • anything with the atom processor + visa is going to choke! i rly like the design but i'd rather buy a notebook :D

  • i hear ya thats why i went with a sony vaio fw series and its been great so far i'll never buy a netbook nothin against them other than if your gonna buy a netbook might as well save a little more and get a notebook

  • Damnit. Another thing I HAVE to buy.

Everything that matters is always at least $1000

  • guys ..

    can anyone tell me

    that computer

made only for woman or what ?

i just watch all the adv .. and it was all about woman

  • lol its target for women, sucks cause i want 1 and im a dude!

  • lol i'm a dude and i thought screw that i dont care and got one anyway!

  • I kept hearing that annoying fucking Vista "bing" noise whenever you try and click something you aren't allowed to. Why do they make these sounds so irritating, or maybe it's just because your so fucking irritated at the time of the sound that you end up hating it.

  • Anyone with half a brain can turn off or change the sounds in Windows operating systems.

  • esta chida pero No me gusta que trae vista y que esta muy cara aca anda en 1000 dls =S

  • which OS is it?

  • vista

  • vaio p will have more perfomance ghx if use nvidia gpu ...

  • I just bought one from England. If intend to work with 3g networks overseas watch out, USA models only works with Verizon 3G network and do not include the SIM slot accessible from outside. Good construction quality and Works fine if you only want to use for email and Internet. impossible to play a video in fullscreen, very choppy... 3G works Ok.

  • Comment removed

  • Just a question... Would Battlefield 2 work good on it?

  • i tihnk it would be a great device if it has touchscreen.

  • A good keyboard but with a few drawbacks:

    1) A lower powered Atom processor really makes it choppier.

    2) Why is it running Vista? Run XP on it and increase that battery life (something that's important for a netbook)

    3) 1600x800? Make it 1200x600 and cut that price, which leads me to:

    4) Price. $900 is utterly ridiculous. It's less than an inch smaller in length and two inches smaller in depth and barely a 1/4" thinner than most netbooks. IMO, if it was $500 it would be good, but not $900.

  • m.. i like the lap, but it doesnt have cd rom? what a piece of sh...

  • With the integrated cross media bar it's almost feels like a handheld. Handy.

  • Great!!!!!!!

  • fuckin' want one!

  • why would u pay 1000$ for this piece of s***

  • GO OUTSIDE YOUR PARENTS BASEMENT

  • lo pequeño de la pantalla no hace incomodo su uso?? es hermosa

  • how does the 3g work? can you stick in a sim card and use 3g from it?

  • does it have digital tuner? with digital tuner, you can watch tv also

  • track points are awesome. you don't have to take your hands off the keyboard. you just move your index finger onto the track point to move around like a mouse, and press down on the center button with your thumb if you need to scroll. i own a thinkpad and i've always liked the track point.

  • I used to think like you do... and now I don't. Touchpads are far nicer to use.

  • agreed.

all though i would gladly wave that in this netbooks case. seeing as i would only be using it for net browsing msn and typing word documents, a combo of the pointer and windows/tab keys would still be very quick to navigate with.

  • I'd gladly rob a rich person who has one of these. if you can afford this: you dont really need it ;)

  • man i love technology. glad im going to be in this business soon, computer engineering

  • i just download or watch dvd movies from the web.

  • *sneeze*!!

  • Thanks bro. Ive never tried using one on a netbook I'll be sure to give it a try and see what I think. Just really used to a touchpad haven't used a mouse in years.

  • uifH

  • Anyone know if the lack of touchpad is a big problem on this particular Netbook?

  • people say that the stick they added to replace the touchpad, due to space, is not as good and takes some time to get used to, but overall is much better than what people first assumed. However, if you wish, since the laptop has bluetooth, you can buy a wireless mouse that supports bluetooth and use that instead.

  • Well actually I guess just for surfing the net and youtube it would not pose a big problem and a mouse would be the best of course but would take away from its portability factor a bit.

  • very true, but i guess with portability, comes restrictions, but overall i think this is actually one of the most interesting laptops i've ever seen, even with the actual laptop being one of the smallest in the world

  • Hmmmm. I might take your word for it. Z is like $3000+ if u take da bluray option, which is justifiable considering how perfect of a laptop it is. But can't afford it...yet. Should i invest? is it worth it? arrchh. BTW just reply one of my comments, makes life much easier, lol. or send me a private message. i said SR would do the job in my other comments but i really want something special like da z. i was also thinking of getting da FZ, the older model of Z. its still better then the SR series.

  • LOL. MAN i absolutely agree with you. i share many (if not, all) of your views in sony products. I already kno abt the specs and yes it kicks apple's sorry ass alum!lol. the tech behind carbon fiber is amazing, if you look at it microscopically, you will see small individual dots lined up. i did co-op in NRC and i had the fortunate chance of studying carbon fiber.:D I am just wondering if its worth investing on the Z series rather then SR. or should i wait. maybe i shuld get da old FZ?

  • Yeah i already kno that. i probably won't need the Z's power, and the only reason why i want blur ray its for its burner cuz i have the Sony HDR-SR11 HD handycam and it would be nice to burn all my full high res movie clips on a blu-ray. i don't think bluray won't make a huge difference compare to DVD in a 13.1" screen u kno? but if i end up getting the SR i can always buy an external blu-ray burner. as for games..SR can perform decent if u custimize it.

  • thank you very much for this video

im allready saving up for my very own vaio

in my opinion the entire vaio line up is amazing

  • Thanks for posting this, it was really helpful and a really nice show of the Vaio P!! I can't wait for it to come out.

  • Damn man! You Must b hardcore with your sony laptops. Two GF, damn, lol. Do you think it was worth getting the Z series? Should i invest in it?

  • LOL, no man i wasn't tryin to mak fun of you, haha. Since you consider urself as a sony user, i thought you also might have a sony laptop. I havn't met alot of people (or any) that owns a quality vaio laptop (not those gay 15 inch heavy ass for main consumers). I just wanted to know your opinion about them, since i am investing on buying the SR series. I was thinking of getting Z series as well since it had EVERYTHING I DAMN WANT!!! But unfortunately it's unreachable considering my budget line.

  • Cus you care man. Your defending an argument which is perfectly fine. BTW wat sony laptop do you have, that is if u have one?

  • LOL. Yeah i totally see where you're coming from. There is alot of sony haters in the world but they have stupid reason to be haters, including the most annoying one, "It's too expensive". my respond would be ex. where can you otherwise find a laptop with bluray, weigh around 3 lb and can play crysis? And then they say..."well i dont need bluray and weight doesn't matter". if weight doesn't matter then why the F?@K are u getting laptop, its made portability. Frustrating!!! argg. u kno?

  • I am a huge sony fan myself, but i think your going too far as saying sony is a lifestyle. yes it is true that everything that sony does is done with the highest regard in technology, that is why whenever you buy their product, you're never disapointed. but your comments seems to me that you would not consider any other product other then sony. there are alot of technology out there that have their own charms and u should try some especially if your rich.

  • HAHAHHAA. OMG this is da most interesting/funniest convo i hav seen. mpqcreew, i am sorry but you got owned. Realcuteguyyayiyayi, You shared your opinion and people started bashing you but you end up pwning them in the end. You're my hero man lol. Thumbs up. BTW Apple did copy alot of stuff from sony, at least that's how it seems. lol.

  • I'm only gonna buy this if aero works good on it. Seems like aero doesn't work... *sigh I guess I'll wait for something else to come around..

  • lol if my teachers were bad then your teachers must have been poop. nice comeback, but you were mostly just repeating what I said. my language is English, but I guess judging from your speech, yours is not. it's fun arguing with a DC and millionaire.

it's arrogant people like you who give rich people a bad name.

  • We don't give a shit about "wheather" you own these things. Man it's a nice day out. I wonder, what tomorrow will be like? I better check the "Wheather Channel." You might have money, man, but you have more money than brains.

  • Yeah, you're really smart and educated. Saying things like: "Where u the money come?" Do you realize how absurd you look? How is it cliche to type a message with correct English, versus your retarded text dribble?

  • I don't care about the things you own. Do you think you're making anyone here jealous? No. Most people here probably don't believe you, anyway.

  • Dude he is obvioulsy just messing with you. He might be rich but i dont think he thinks himself superior then poor people like me for instance. We don't live in such age unless your retarded and have money cuz of your parents. this guy claims he had done his PHD, he is smart enough to understand this. u catch my drift? BTW realcuteguy.... ur freaken hallarious, lol.

  • hah! you don't know where I work! tell me then

  • lol

  • all hail realcuteguyyayiyayi. I would say it with his real name but all I know is that he's a real cute guy.

  • You're an idiot.

  • Oh yeah just to be petty and point out everything wrong about you:

how many people do you think know about what you're fighting so hard for? think about it, and you'll agree that it's obscure.

lol btw, by your definition of educated Einstein isn't educated. That was the point--to show you how ridiculous you sound.

my intellect > yours, so stop trying. ps everybody: he will reply to this.

  • LOL this guy is too funny. he's calling me unworthy of a comment thread on youtube because I obviously don't know the meaning of "educated" because I take it too literally, as if there are any other meanings for the word.

I'll get real: nobody cares. Getting worked up about something so insignificant is just ridiculously futile, you pretentious, self-important, asinine pissant.

  • ok firstly, i never said i didn't like Sony. most of my electronics are from Sony. second, the Sony lifestyle is not superior, just my opinion. i have nothing against yours. if you really are passionate why not make a video yourself instead of complaining. third, stop contradicting yourself. i can find two points where you're judging ME. telling me to fcuk off...real mature. i feel sorry for the kids who went to the same school as you. your teachers have obviously never taught you proper grammar

  • LOL THIS GUY IS SO FUNNY! no one will take him seriously.
