  • great job! I couldn't find this one for sale so I got the Canon VIXIA HF20 HD Dual Flash Memory with 32 GB Internal Memory and 15x Optical Zoom. It is a lot of fun. Creative fun.

  • Everyone download mpeg streamclip. It converts any codecs to awesome quality. Don't forget to use a class 10 SDHC card for your recordings:)

  • nice

  • /watch?v=1P4QhXsxs64

check this out, other cannon quality test

  • great!!!i'll have it tomorrow.. i'm really happy for this !!!!!!! thank u for testing it :-)

  • can it wrk with window movie maker

  • I think this video was helpful and showed me a good array of what to expect with it. HAVE a $1200 sony 8mm(old now) but it is tiring to take long videos of things. I hope it will work well with my imovie on my mac. Thanks and good job!

  • Hi everybody! Thank you for all the comments and the support for this video! I can't belive it reached more than 10 000 views! thank you! :D have a nice day ;)

  • It looks really good.

  • i love the use of manual focus on flowers and i want this Canon...i'm a nerd moviemaker without Camera :D

  • REALLY good video quality...

  • thank you. Very interesting video.

  • it records in 1024 x 768 right ?

  • lol i didnt wait but Thx for the cupcake :)

  • I'm sorry for the very late respond! D: I hope you've already got help, but I'll answer the question anyway.

I've got a 4GB sdhc card wich I can record for about 1h & 15 minutes (In SP recording mode), so a 8GB card would be about a bit over 2 hrs in sp mode. the xp mode goes with about 9mb per sec. so maybe... a little less than 2hrs? maybe something like that :)

  • when i put the videos on my computer with this camera, the quality gets messed up, is this from using imovie?

  • I do not know, I use a pc with Nero vision and Windows movie maker, so Imovie might mess it up, but some of the quality on this video is gone too.

  • Fantastic quality

  • please answer this, i want to use widescreen but when my videos are transfered to my laptop they are compressed into a square, it looks ugly, how do i get widescreen?

  • are you using the editing program the camera came with? you can change to whidescreen in that editing program. I'm not at the computer with the convertingprogram, so I can't help you any further, but I hope it helped a bit at least.

  • This my first point and shoot camcorder, I bought it yesterday on an impulse for home videoing without doing a review first.

After doing some reviews today and seeing this video I must say I it looks like a very good buy.

  • what video editing programms do u use?

    I liked the cat too))))))

  • Nero vision 4 (editing) and Windows movie maker(music and texture) ;) tank you :D

  • thanx!! gonna try Nero Vision too))

  • Wow. This looks really good.

How easy is it to auto focus with this camera?

  • it's pretty easy, as you can see on the first clip :)

  • very good video. i liked the cat :D

i will buy the camcorder to.

  • thanks, he appreciate his fans xD

  • Is this a Canon Legria FS200? Really? It doesn't seem an entry level cam..

  • yes it is xD

  • 1:40

Yea, effect is weird, because the picture is looking overburned "naturally & digitally".

  • hehe xD

  • nice job. I cant decide on one yet this has helped me a good bit though

  • I'm glad that It helped you a bit at least :) thank you

  • how do u manual focus it? touch screen? o.0

  • Yes, it have manual focusing using touch screen, and I would prefer tripod with that feature or if you record with ur hands, video will shaky.

This video is using just auto-focus.

  • No, there's no touchscreen on this camcorder :( but you're using the joystick to change the focus from close and far away focusing :) the clip wich begins ca 00:51 is manual focusing, but it was my first time using manual focusing, so the clip is really bad xD sorry for that :P

  • @ChupChup91,

Oh yes, it doesn't have that touch screen. I'm using sony's camcorders, and there is always touch screen.

Clip isn't so bad... it is good, because it is hard to focus with joystick.

  • Thanks very much!

This was pretty perfect camcorder test, but I have to ask, does this camera have a nightshot? Thanks!

    P.S. thanks for the cupcake!

  • Hi there, Thank you and Your'e welcome :D No, the camcorder does not have Nightvision :( the only thing is the camera light.

  • hey do you no if this camcorder is good for like recording ds screens or tv screens?

  • hm... I've never tried to record from tv-screens, but if you're recording a old time tv ( 4:3? ) the "black stripes" will get recorded on the camera too ( if you understand what I mean :)

  • Thanks for your review. This camcorder quality is too low than their prices.

  • got you in buying the camera is also a bag or SD card in?

  • No, I had to buy both myself :P

  • thank you for the test^^

  • no worries :)

  • I'm so considering FS200. how about low light?

  • hm, in the lower ligts ( like before i used the camera light) the picture is a bit... not blurry, but there are some "colour dots" in the picture wich makes it look a little weird and blurry-ish. it looks more on the camcorder screen than on the movies in the computer, so it's not that worse as it seems :P

  • What editing software did you use?

  • Nero vision 4 and Windows Movie Maker. no pro software xD

  • exellent! really great test. ciao!

  • thanx :D

  • how do u change the focus like that?? plz right bck

  • I change the focus (and the exposure) with the joystick beside the screen by pushing it left and right :)

  • kk thanxs

  • awesome! can u get a fisheye on this?

  • I'm not sure. I've heard filters are difficult to put on on this camera, so I'm not sure about "fisheyes" :( sorry, I wish I knew more :(

  • great test :D

  • thank you :D

  • exellent quality! I wonder what is the slow motion like - I mean if I use a some kind of movie maker to slow it (there's no slow motion effect on the camera right?). your cat is awesome :D

  • I use Windows movie maker to slow it down, and the slow motion is pretty ok. I think you can expand the frames/sec from 25 to 30 or more to make the picture look nicer in the slow motion, but I haven't tried it out yet. thank you :D

  • Your tripod helps a lot. Excellent video! Thank you!

  • thanks! :D

  • for all camcorder owners/experts: should i purchase the Canon FS200 or the Sony DCRSX40?

    thanks,

  • FS200 has way better quality but the DCRSX40 id excellent in low light

  • man i lv kittys

  • y lv them too i watched this vid twice

  • hehe, me too ;)

  • that cat is so cute! it like prances up and stops to look at you. Adorable!

  • yeah ^^ he's my little angel <3 we've got him for about 8 years, but he still surprises us :D

  • what editing program did you use?

  • Nero vision(editing) and Windows movie maker (music and text) :)

  • thanks for the test videos buddy im looking tog et a cam if i can save up the money. first i was looking at the canon DC models they are mini dvd cameras but i thought about ti and if the cam got jared around a little hard it would ruine the dvd. looked at the ZR models next but found if i shot 1 hour of video it would take me 1 hour to upload it to my computer this is the camera i am researching now so far so good. let me know what you dont like about it so i'll have more info on it

  • so far the things i dont understand yet is SD and SDHC cards i dont know what the difference is between them. any info you can tell me about the camera and or the cards will be helpful to me and will be appreciated

  • the SD-cards are more for photos than for filming, I think that's the only difference ( that's what I've heard anyway, If someone knows more, please comment here ;) ).

if you want to know someting more, just send me a PM ;)

  • can it be used as a webcam?

  • I don't know :S but I don't think so

  • SD cards are only available in sizes of up to 4GB, SDHC cards have higher capacities (and are therefore more commonly used for filming) but a lot of devices that were made for SD cards don't recognize them

  • thanx, MarcRustug :D now I've learned something new :)

  • there are some few things I don't like with the cam; the dark indoor shots are not so good ( well, I've heard that there are not many cameras with good indoor shooting :S ) and if you're somewhere quiet place and using the zoom, you can hear the zoom on the clip later ( but there is a av/out for a mic on the camcorder if you want to avoid that). that's the only things for the moment :P

  • Cool!

  • thanx ;)
