  • @realhtinfo i'm too still in the market. Will have a good look to variuos trike models and then will make desition. i lean tawords rover but it has direct stearing and im not sure if is fine for speeds up to 50km/h

  • I've been riding a Rover for nearly a month, and it's definitely not a "zippy" trike! However, I ride on city streets in residential areas, and the higher seat and more upright posture ensures that people see me. Like the promo video, I can make eye contact with most people in most cars. With that being said, even trucks and SUVs give me plenty of space. Of course, I do wear very bright colors have a large flag! CAN YOU SEE ME NOW?!?

  • Lower price attracts me! Although I'm really looking at a Worksman because I need some carrying capacity (groceries, etc.)

  • Looks like the trike got on 2 wheels at 0:37 at a relatively slow speed. Any chance the center of gravity might be a little high for bigger riders? I'm 6'4" and like to zip around quite a bit. If I were considering a terratrike, might a be better served by one of the other models with a lower seat?

  • @realhtinfo I think the guy in the video did that a bit on purpose. You often see trike owners show off a 2wheeler at very low speed.

In my opinion the Rover is for people who specifically want a higher seat or like it because of the low price tag. I wouldn't mind having one for around town! But for distance touring you might want a lower model with a relative higher bottom bracket and wider gear range.

  • @hauserkaspar

What I need most is seat adjustment (and price). Don't have a big budget and need to accommodate riders between 5'8" - 6'4". This will be an around town, so I'm not bummed about the low gearing. The seat height will be a plus in traffic. With a criticism of the Sun EZ-3 Tadpoles being lack of stability @ 10+mph, I want to make sure the Rover doesn't have similar issues.

Forgive my ignorance, but what would the advantage of the higher bottom bracket be in a touring scenario?

  • @realhtinfo A higher bottom bracket relative to the seat means more aero, more sporty. And a bit faster especially with a more reclined seat angle. My taste. A lower bb prevents nimble feet and perhaps climbs better. The bottom bracket and overall hight of a trike should be of more concern then the stability. Yes with the Rover you can take corners less fast but I would not worry at all of tipping over easily. Get an account on bentrideronline and ask Rover owners on the message board.

  • @hauserkaspar

    Will do. Thanks.

  • @realhtinfo

he definetly tipped on porpose. im too 6'4" and considering rover. if you purchused one then let me know if it works for you.

it has high seat and big weels so it shoudn't corner too well, though i've never riden the trike.

  • @minde28383 I'm still in the market, but am still leaning towards the Rover. I think I need to try the Tour II, and decide between high/low seating, direct/indirect steering. Right now, I'd love to have both, but based on my needs, the Rover is in the lead.
