If part of the heart is hit leaving the remaining heart pumping, yea they will roll around, or run a short difference, but not when the heart is a pulpy mess...so thats my experience. Why so hostile about it?

A head or heart is a preferable shot, i agree, and i don't like to see the animals suffer, but it happens. if you get more than one coyote coming in you only get one good shot, after that they run like hell and you shoot for center of mass as fast as you can and any hits a good one, why? dogs kill livestock.
I will clarify....when i say heart shot, i mean a direct shot, not a graze, not a wing but a through and through hit. no blood pressure means no blood to the brain, muscles.

In his defense, the coyote did move forward right as he went for the shot, but it should have been up closer to its vitals in the first place.
