  • Awesome lifting as always bro!!

  • nice work randy! i think you can say that your max on bench is 415 now! you do realize that 407.5 is basically as hard as 410 if not 415??? U SHOULD HAVE JUST PUIT 410 ON...having an unbalanced bar is way more hard than those extra 2.5 or 5 pounds!!!!!

    keep up the good work.....

  • @rctriplefresh5

Thanks Dave. I wanted to try a single that I was pretty sure I could get without straining too hard. 410 lbs would be very close to an all out max for me, and like I have been telling you, I am trying to avoid all out efforts at the moment to keep my CNS fresh. So, I will attempt 410 lbs when my body tells me it is time.

By the way, there are 1.25 lb'ers on each side, so the bar is even...

  • nice job man very impressive where did you find the 11/4 pound plates at

  • @travis271979

They came with a weight set a long time ago...they're great for sneaking past PR's when 5 lb increments seems like too much.

  • @PropitiousSoul

Thanks man - yeah, I was pretty sure I could do that relatively easy, but I wanted to gain some mental confidence with anything over 4 plates...so that did the trick. I find it is very much mental when you hit new stages, like 3 plates, 4 plates, etc...

Probably have to test out 410 lbs next time around, if I am feeling up for it.

  • @85wifebeater

I have been benching for a long time my friend...so with some time, you'll get there too if you stick with it.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Nice man a PR is a PR! Thats what I always tell myself! haha

  • @powabuilda

Thanks Nate. I will take it, that's for sure! Ha, ha...

How's your training coming along? Any new vid's coming?

  • @BRETZERR Well, I am strating to make some small gains again. Our PT at the academy just recently ended so I am hoping to make some bigger gains in the coming future! And if I could get to a gym I could film at Id probably fim some or at a meet which probably won't be for a while unfortunately.. But I may think of some other vid ideas so stay tuned! haha

  • good lifting brother. looks like that close grip you've been doing is paying off. Do you ever floor press?

  • @DB1753

Thanks - I appreciate that. Not really...I have tried floor presses a few times, but it has never really been a favorite of mine. I think they are better for closer-grip pressers to work on their lockouts.

  • I must have missed this vid!!!! BIG CONGRATS on the PR!!!!

  • @dribbledrool

Ha, ha...it's just a baby PR Nils...but I will take it in the name of progress. Hopefully more to come...

How's your bench training coming these days? Any new vid's coming?

  • @BRETZERR I've about given up on benching... well, not really but I might as well.. weak as a little girl but trying to get atleast one good workout in a week. Food is the main difference... eating ALOT less... and not as regularly and determinently as I did last year which makes a huge impact on my strength. Have alot of other things going on in my life so benching has taken a back seat... for now. Hopefully I'll get back into it and when I start breaking PR's again i'll post for sure.

  • @dribbledrool I hear ya Nils...life happens. Plus, you have set some pretty monsterous PR's that might be quite challenging to beat. Keep in touch bro.

  • @BRETZERR Yeah, it would be pretty hard to beat seeing that I focused all my energy on my training/foodintake for a few years. I might set a new goal like benching 200kg(440lbs) at a much lower bodyweight. I'll keep following all you guys on youtube anyway. It's what's keeping me in the gym at all. Inspiring shit! =)

  • freaking monster

  • @Kamaka675

Ha, ha...thanks. I appreciate the kind comment.

  • strong !!!!

  • @MrMano54

    Thanks bro - much appreciated.

  • Congrats on the PR Randy!! Strong lifting!

  • @jplift

Thanks JP. 400+ lbs is finally starting to feel reasonable on a consistent basis...hopefully more to come.

  • wow you do do 10 reps sometimes lol. I knew you could do over 405, but very impressed at 315x10, plus you had a few more.

  • @dt76028

Thanks man - yeah, I am guessing I have at least 12 reps with 315 lbs in me on a good day, if I want to push it. I just have to get better at maxing out...

  • good job

  • @Acroix707

Thanks - I appreciate the comment.

  • Great workout Randy! Once you broke through the lower 1/3 of the rep, the lockout was easy!

  • @j0540212

Yeah, that's always the case for me. The lockouts are easy on singles with my regular grip. Hopefully more to come...

  • 405s my max on deadlifts....lmfao nice lifts

  • @joeloveshisshoes

It was mine at one time to bro...keep working hard...sky's the limit!

  • Great workout! you had 410! 407.5 was a lil too easy. Also, how the heck can you get 315X10 so easily and max at liek 410? 315X10 alone is estimated at 420, and you did it easily for 2 sets!

Also, what does @8 mean? just curious

  • @PowerlifterTy16

Yeah, I hear ya. My reps always outpace my 1 rep maxes. Either I am great at repping weights, or I just suck at maxes...either way, I have to work on my singles. Both sets of 315 lbs felt relatively easy. @8 is an RTS rating that means 2 to 4 reps left in the tank on that set. @9 means 1 rep left in the tank and @10 means an all-out max. @7 and below is speed work. It's a measure of perceived excertion...

    Thanks Ty.

  • Excellent workout Randy! Nice PR as well! Why the hell didn't you just throw 410 on there!!

  • @HHH396

Ha, ha...mostly because 4 plates is still somewhat of a psychological barrier for me. I am sure I have quite a bit more for a max, once my brain lets me do it. You can tell I am nervous with 4 plates + because of how much I slowed the weight down on the negative portion of the lift (making it that much harder!). All in good time though...I used to be that way with 365 lbs too...not any more. So, presumably in a month or two that barrier will be gone.

  • @BRETZERR I feel the same way with 3 plates, which is why I like to skip it by going up by 135, 205, 255, 305 + smaller plates - haha

  • Great job Randy! Over four plates once again

  • @IncredibleHulkRobert

    Thanks Robert. Slowly getting there...

  • Pressing like a champ as always.

  • @TirumphantAce

    Ha, ha...thanks. Slowly getting stronger...
