  • does he/she knows where to poop?

  • ahhhhhhhh..... Birds are so smart :) Next thing you know, they take over the government ;)

  • Ninja Einstein!

  • I knew Einstein is still alive.

  • can he/she fly

  • @tacoinblanket Yes she can, but her wings are clipped so she can't fly very far.

  • @4zebird oh. we have a indian runner duck who cant fly but he has flown as tall as a camper window

  • @4zebird do they bleed when you clip them

  • @iraqinetwork No, they do not bleed. You make sure you are clipping full grown feathers and not blood feathers which are feathers that are still growing. For a full explanation go to: w w w (dot) birdsnways (dot) com / wisdom / ww19eii (dot) htm (delete spaces)

  • @4zebird Thank you so much! btw are you the owner of Einstein. If you are when did you get her?

  • @iraqinetwork Yes we are, we got her 14 years ago.

  • @4zebird do they live up to 60 years? how much do they cost trained or untrained?

  • she is so sneeky!!

  • Check this out! She pulled out the towels SO SHE COULD GET BACK OUT AND KEEP FROM GETTING BUSTED! all I can say is wow.

  • I think she stopped when she heard a noise and was afraid she might get into trouble. Amazing. Just like a little kid!

  • Einstein is nesting in there. She goes in and preps the nest while you are not in the room and comes out when you enter because she doesn't want you to know the location of her nesting site. She has strong maternal instincts. Poor baby wants to be a mommy.

  • My parents own a cat named Oscar. He can stand on his hind legs and open the bathroom cupbard. He doesn't do it now, though.

  • lol look at all those scratch marks, but at least shes having a blast XD and its cute how she pulls in those towels ;p

  • That bird will be President someday

  • Extraordinary! This bird's intelligence is as intriguing as I have ever seen.

Did she figure this out by herself, or did you train her to open the door?

Have you ever tried to get video of what she does inside the cabinet?

  • She figured it out on her own. I'm afraid if I put a camera in the cabinet she would destroy it.

  • @4zebird you should consider getting a GoPro Camera~ those things can take a beating~

  • hahaha cool! :)

  • Gosh, Merry Maids has really changed over the years!

  • Gee, Merry Maids just isn't the same as it used to be!

  • woman: was that fun?

    EINSTEIN:(noding)

  • i wouldn't be surprised if she was reading in there.

  • Einstein is TOO FUNNY... this movie is hilarious!!

  • This is too funny! I have an adopted Timneh grey who is just starting to learn these kinds of clever things...it's like having a toddler in the house!

  • HAHAHA

  • The towels are alive!!!

  • You're an excellent Parrot Mommy! Einstein is a good example of what parrots can be like if nurtured and respected as the intelligent loving independent beings they are.

  • nice video, funny how smart birds are!

  • I love how she just slinks away all guilty like. Your bird is amazing. Just like the real einstein!

  • our grey just watch the screen, and do typical parrot sounds :D

  • lol that isnt a parrot you got there! It's a rat! :D my african grey can open the bedroom lock on my door which is annoying lol

  • Mine knocks on my bedroom door and looks up waiting til I answer...sounds like you need to teach your Grey to knock LOL

  • Lolololol shneaky

I would get so freaked otu when the towels dissapear xD cuz u couldnt see her pulling them with her beak =P

  • yeah haha like WTH OMG!

  • lol ya

  • whis my bird was that smart! :D

  • Clever girl she is. |D

1:17 Oh hai... I wasn't up to nothin'... just chillin'.

3:06 ....Ummm... *nod nod nod* Yeah. Yeah, it was...

  • it's look like that this bird is nesting

  • smart bird! lol

  • lol, that is hilarious!!!

  • lol xD

  • Secret Agent Einstein porgesses mission of tunneling. Opens cabinet and enters. Towels get pulled down. Einstein reappears. Signaling 'Nope! Not done yet!'. Goes back in. Comes out. Owner knows what she was doing and is ok with it lolz jk jk

  • Oh my god. I LOVE YOUR BIRD! She's adorable!! I loved how she'd go in then come back up when you entered the kitchen!! So cute. Congrats.

  • hahahahhahahaha

  • DUHH IT WAS FUN

    EINSTEIN FTW

its funny when she comes out of the drawer

  • wow when the bird went in the cabinet how did it go out the other way??? tht's amazing

  • aww, she's like a little secret agent!!! XD

I love how at 0:22 she closes the cabinet when she heard that beeping noise!

  • that's hilarious!

  • Taht is really one smart bird.... Loved her...

  • Wow...this is problem solving in action!

  • lol cool

  • LOLOL! Thats too cute~~

  • your bird destroyed the cabinet!!!!

  • It's a fun game and very hen like. Have you found eggs in there yet? Our mitred conure used to do this in the bathroom cupboard and when she was about 12 years old we found some eggs a few times. She mostly chewed up robes and towels after than, but no more eggs.

  • this birdy is a genius !! ^^

  • How cool she answers you!

  • this is REALLY funny! I like it when the tea towels just slide in!

  • Lol at the way she nods if you ask if she had fun xd

  • I love how she peeked in the cabinet at first, then made sure the coast was clear, then went in. She's hilarious!

  • she's always puffed up, that means she stressed or nervous. hm.

  • no lol, its the other way round 8-)

  • My parrot does that when he's comfortable and happy... When he's nervous he straghtens out his neck and tightens his feathers.

  • Now I know why you call her Einstein! LOL! She's like the smartest bird! Her intelligence is mind boggling! She certainly knows how to keep herself entertained! :D

  • smartest bird EVER

  • she nods at the question!!!! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • At least she shuts the door on her way in, lol. Though, the diappearing towels was slightly creepy.

  • This is great! Closet knowledge og investigation.

  • good its not the oven haha

  • she stays in the cabinet for about 12 minutes lol

  • wow,she is very smart! It'd be funny if someone was visiting your house and opened the cabinet and a bird came flying out! Ahhh!! lol.

  • Lol. If i were a guest in that house, and I saw the towels disappearing like that.. I'd never come back

  • haha omg thats sucha smart bird! sooo cute!!

  • i love einstein is very funny

  • LOL i also love when you asked her if it was fun and she nodded her head lol..too smart!

  • that is sooo cute!! einstein is soo smart!

  • 2nd most genius parrot i have ever seen

  • Alex must have been the first.

  • I love this video--I hadn't noticed before but in the beginning, she hears the phone ring and pauses before going into the cabinet--too funny!

  • Sooo cuute! I love this video.

  • Heh heh! Whenever you asked her if she had fun, she would shake her head "yes"! That's one smart bird!

  • That pelican is planning something.

I'm calling Homeland Security just to be on the safe side

  • I love Einstein. She's such a cutie. And by the way.....I've never seen such a neat kitchen,

  • what an amazing little friend you have there! I don't know the first thing about parrots (i basically stumbled upon this video), and Einsteins seems like such a playful, charismatic little fellow! Are parrots affectionate too? (ie. do they like to interact or play with people physically rather than verbally?)

I guess my take on Einstein is heavily anthropomorphic, but nonetheless she's adorable!

  • Thanks for your comment. Parrots, particularly African Grey Parrots are a bit stand-offish to people they don't know very well. They are affectionate and interactive with people they trust and are bonded to. That level of trust takes quite a while and much patience to build.

  • Well it seems your patience has certainly paid off! I'm looking forward to watching more videos of Einstein playing about and saying funny things, it's SO charming! Take care! /Max

  • clever parrot

  • we have been trying our best to teach our african grey but him seems be more interested in einstein, LOL, we use the video's mostly because we use the computers for everything

  • i agree that shes smart. but this video seems like you've done some edit? can see it.

but still it nice to watch.

  • of coarse it was edited cause the video would have been too long. she said the bird was in the cabinet for like ten minutes.

  • out of all the parrots i really think african greys are by far the smartest...

  • She can warm up to you! You only need to gain her trust. There are 2 books by Barbara Heidenreich, "The Parrot Problem Solver" and "Good Bird! A Guide to Solving Behavioral Problems in Companion Parrots". Go to Amazon, buy them and read them. Work with your bird and it is possible. Her techniques are easy and they really work!

  • They're so sneaky! I love African Greys. Ours was neglected for ten years when we got her, so all she does is growl at us. I hope she will eventually warm up to us, but it is doubtful.

  • lol, this is so funny!!

  • What a smart little bird! You're a good bird mom to set it up for her so she can play safely.

  • I love Einstein! Also, can the cabinet doors close on her and hurt her?

  • No, the doors are not heavy and they are not "spring loaded" so they do not slam shut. Thanks for asking.

  • Aren't you afraid she'll lay an egg in there? It does resemble a nest box..only BIGGER :)

  • lol thts so funny....she is so crafty! Love how u see her little red feathers disappear into the cupboard lol....they are so inteligent its scary. My 2 are always up to stuff too. x

  • Oh, this is adorable. She is so sweet! I love how she nods her head yes when you ask her if she was having fun! What a lovely girl!!

  • lol oh my I love this guy!!! very smart...he must think he slick lol then you ask him if he had fun and he nods his head yes lol makes me want one so badly

  • I'm in love with Einstein! What a character! I have to share this with all my friends!

  • That is so amazinggg!!! haha i love that!!!

btw can any1 tell me wut it means when they puff up their feathers like that?

  • In this instance she puffed up in a defensive manner. She is making herself look bigger so that possibly she will scare off whatever it is that is making her feel uncomfortable. Parrots also puff up when you scratch them because it feels good. Occasionally they puff when they are sleeping or resting. If a parrot puffs up and stays that way for a long period of time for no apparent reason it may be because they are sick & not feeling well.

  • Ok thanks!!! I have always wondered about that :o)

  • I loved this.......cracked me up. What a smart little girl.

  • she should have human rights, should be considered as a person. my opinion.

  • I love Einstein, too. She's such a cutie. And by the way.....I've never seen such a neat kitchen,

  • Very cool! :)

  • She's makin' a fort! No humans allowed:)

  • LOL!

  • What a naughty, naughty girl! I LOVED this! She really is an incredibly intelligent bird, even for an AG. The way she is looking to see that you're gone before she goes into her hidey hole is quite exceptional. I just adore this bird.
