@iraqinetwork No, they do not bleed. You make sure you are clipping full grown feathers and not blood feathers which are feathers that are still growing. For a full explanation go to: w w w (dot) birdsnways (dot) com / wisdom / ww19eii (dot) htm (delete spaces)
Einstein is nesting in there. She goes in and preps the nest while you are not in the room and comes out when you enter because she doesn't want you to know the location of her nesting site. She has strong maternal instincts. Poor baby wants to be a mommy.

This is too funny! I have an adopted Timneh grey who is just starting to learn these kinds of clever things...it's like having a toddler in the house!
You're an excellent Parrot Mommy! Einstein is a good example of what parrots can be like if nurtured and respected as the intelligent loving independent beings they are.
Secret Agent Einstein porgesses mission of tunneling. Opens cabinet and enters. Towels get pulled down. Einstein reappears. Signaling 'Nope! Not done yet!'. Goes back in. Comes out. Owner knows what she was doing and is ok with it lolz jk jk
It's a fun game and very hen like. Have you found eggs in there yet? Our mitred conure used to do this in the bathroom cupboard and when she was about 12 years old we found some eggs a few times. She mostly chewed up robes and towels after than, but no more eggs.
Now I know why you call her Einstein! LOL! She's like the smartest bird! Her intelligence is mind boggling! She certainly knows how to keep herself entertained! :D
what an amazing little friend you have there! I don't know the first thing about parrots (i basically stumbled upon this video), and Einsteins seems like such a playful, charismatic little fellow! Are parrots affectionate too? (ie. do they like to interact or play with people physically rather than verbally?)
I guess my take on Einstein is heavily anthropomorphic, but nonetheless she's adorable!
Thanks for your comment. Parrots, particularly African Grey Parrots are a bit stand-offish to people they don't know very well. They are affectionate and interactive with people they trust and are bonded to. That level of trust takes quite a while and much patience to build.
Well it seems your patience has certainly paid off! I'm looking forward to watching more videos of Einstein playing about and saying funny things, it's SO charming! Take care! /Max
we have been trying our best to teach our african grey but him seems be more interested in einstein, LOL, we use the video's mostly because we use the computers for everything
She can warm up to you! You only need to gain her trust. There are 2 books by Barbara Heidenreich, "The Parrot Problem Solver" and "Good Bird! A Guide to Solving Behavioral Problems in Companion Parrots". Go to Amazon, buy them and read them. Work with your bird and it is possible. Her techniques are easy and they really work!
They're so sneaky! I love African Greys. Ours was neglected for ten years when we got her, so all she does is growl at us. I hope she will eventually warm up to us, but it is doubtful.
lol thts so funny....she is so crafty! Love how u see her little red feathers disappear into the cupboard lol....they are so inteligent its scary. My 2 are always up to stuff too. x
lol oh my I love this guy!!! very smart...he must think he slick lol then you ask him if he had fun and he nods his head yes lol makes me want one so badly
In this instance she puffed up in a defensive manner. She is making herself look bigger so that possibly she will scare off whatever it is that is making her feel uncomfortable. Parrots also puff up when you scratch them because it feels good. Occasionally they puff when they are sleeping or resting. If a parrot puffs up and stays that way for a long period of time for no apparent reason it may be because they are sick & not feeling well.
What a naughty, naughty girl! I LOVED this! She really is an incredibly intelligent bird, even for an AG. The way she is looking to see that you're gone before she goes into her hidey hole is quite exceptional. I just adore this bird.
does he/she knows where to poop?

Extraordinary! This bird's intelligence is as intriguing as I have ever seen.
Did she figure this out by herself, or did you train her to open the door?
Have you ever tried to get video of what she does inside the cabinet?
68plusthree 1 year ago
She figured it out on her own. I'm afraid if I put a camera in the cabinet she would destroy it.
