i watched it. it was okay, and it was so freakin hilarious! you know how bad they try to act it out. and in the movie, goku has a grandfather and in the book i really didn't remember that.

DBE was so bad. It's not the just the fact that it didn't resemble the manga or anime, that made it bad, it was also very poorly constructed. So many plot holes, terrible acting, terrible fight choreography, poor character development, mediocre special effects, an inconsistent story and a very short final battle (Goku vs piccolo only last 1MINUTE, plus Goku and piccolo didn't even get a scratch or blood he was clean and fresh all the time..WTF??). it was an overrated Disney movie like..

I'm actually really excited for this movie. I'm also a huge fan of the DB/DBZ series. From the minute I heard this was going to be a live action movie, I knew it was going to be terrible.

I couldn't agree more. I'm also a huge fan of the DB/DBZ/DBGT series. And I too, think that for now a live action movie can't be anywhere up to the standard of the movie. I think in a few years, when there will be a possibility to make a CG animation that will resemble live action movie, a really great DB film can be made.

I don't expect this movie to win best picture, or make more bank than Harry Potter or Transformers will, but I've seen no reason that it should be terrible. I prefer a rethinking over a 100% faithful film counterpart anyway. DB isn't sacred; I think it could be improved anyway. My high hope is that this film will do just that.

I think you misread my past comment. I said the ONLY BIG change was Goku being in highschool. But we can't say that it will changw his personality. I know alot of highschool kids who are very positve have happy. Making Goku a happy-go-licky high school student is not unrealistic. Also, this movie takes place mostly in the final sage of Dragonball, when goku was in his late teens. Goku lost his tail in his early teens.

An adaptation doesn't have to follow the source 100% of the way. Look at Hellboy 1 and 2. Fans of the Hellboy comics consider oth movies as great adaptations, even though the movies are VERY different from the ccomics. This is because the movies still got the general idea of the hellboy comics right in the film. And like I said, we haven't seen enough of the movie to say how Goku's personality will be like. We may have a somewhat idea so far, but not enough to fully confirm it.

In the original Dragonball (which took place before DBZ) Roshi explianed how hw though the dragobballs were created. I don't remember exactly what he said, but his explination invoved beings magicly created the dragon balls. It wasn't until we got into Dragonball z the characters learns that the dragonball were actully created by Kami. (read my next comment for futher info)

I can definitly understand that you are dissapointed that some characters are missing, I am too. But thats what's sequals are for. But for Goku, like I said, none of us can say for sure how he will act. I will say this though, I have seen pic of of this movie of Goku doing stuff that is very much like his character in the anime, like carring a ton of heavy luggage and being happy to it and Goku eating a large turkey leg. That is very Goku like.
Look neo i respect ur opinion of this film but hey u just look at the title. Evolution, the creators are trying to do something different for a change. There not trying to make DB live action, they are trying to try something new.
For example the new batman movie, they killed Two-face in his first day of becoming evil. Now is that really what happend in the comics? No, but the writers and directors arent trying to follow the exact story, but try a few new things with the Batman character.

DBE was so bad. It's not the just the fact that it didn't resemble the manga or anime, that made it bad, it was also very poorly constructed. So many plot holes, terrible acting, terrible fight choreography, poor character development, mediocre special effects, an inconsistent story and a very short final battle (Goku vs piccolo only last 1MINUTE, plus Goku and piccolo didn't even get a scratch or blood he was clean and fresh all the time..WTF??). it was an overrated Disney movie like..

I'm actually really excited for this movie. I'm also a huge fan of the DB/DBZ series. From the minute I heard this was going to be a live action movie, I knew it was going to be terrible.
Everyone here needs to chill out and realize that there is no way in hell a live action movie could be made of our beloved series and it actually be good. This is going to be an awful movie, but dammit I'm going to be entertained when it comes out.

Why is it awful? And why do you want 100% CG? We can already create photo-realistic CG movies. There's no reason this couldn't have been; it would have been cheaper.
I don't expect this movie to win best picture, or make more bank than Harry Potter or Transformers will, but I've seen no reason that it should be terrible. I prefer a rethinking over a 100% faithful film counterpart anyway. DB isn't sacred; I think it could be improved anyway. My high hope is that this film will do just that.

And along the way he is trained by master Roshi inorder to fight Piccolo in the World Tornament. The pretty much mixed the first and last saga of DB.There is changes, like all adaptations, some are better then the others. I think you misread my past comment. I said the ONLY BIG change was Goku being in highschool. But we can't say that it will changw his personality. I know alot of highschool kids who are very positve have happy. Making Goku a happy-go-licky high school student is not unrealistic. Also, this movie takes place mostly in the final sage of Dragonball, when goku was in his late teens. Goku lost his tail in his early teens.

Dude seriously, there is no for all thise capital letters and exclimation marks. This is just a simple discussion not a fight.. Like I said, this is a adaptation so there will be changes, maybe in the movie Goku looses his taili when he was young, but in the movie, it's gone permenly once it's removed, even without Kami. Plus Goku wasn't super happy all the time, and we haven't even seen half of Goku's scenes in this movie yet, so none of us can be 100% sure about how he will act.

An adaptation doesn't have to follow the source 100% of the way. Look at Hellboy 1 and 2. Fans of the Hellboy comics consider oth movies as great adaptations, even though the movies are VERY different from the ccomics. This is because the movies still got the general idea of the hellboy comics right in the film. And like I said, we haven't seen enough of the movie to say how Goku's personality will be like. We may have a somewhat idea so far, but not enough to fully confirm it.

Not to be rude, but seriously? You cliam to be a huge Dragonbvall fan but you don't know some facts. In the original Dragonball (which took place before DBZ) Roshi explianed how hw though the dragobballs were created. I don't remember exactly what he said, but his explination invoved beings magicly created the dragon balls. It wasn't until we got into Dragonball z the characters learns that the dragonball were actully created by Kami. (read my next comment for futher info)

ban21z, pay attention on what the guy in the trailer says "7 mystics created the DB to fight the invader" we all know the invader is picoolo... No 7 mystics defeat picoolo!! it was mutaito sama!! Master Roshi knows that!!! That legend you speak is only a legend inside the DB, that master roshi told about the creation of the dragonballs!! Is not the same thing and it have not the same meaning in the trailer...

Neo, your obsession with complete accuracy blind from comman sense. Yes, there was no 7 mystics in the anime. Like I said, I don't remember exactly what was Roshi explination in the anime was, but his explination in the anime did not involve kami at all. In the anime, Roshi told the others what he "blieved" was the origen of the dragon balls were. In Dragonball Z, we learned it was really Kami who created them. The movie sequal will explain that Kami actully created the balls, like in the anime

Dude, master roshi only told a legend of the creation the dragonballs... it do not involved picoolo!! But i guess we have to wait to the movie comes out, so you can see by yourself what they have done!!
Im good with some adaptations... but they cannot change the origins!! For example Bulma.. i like what they have done with her, and the new reason she have to search the dragonballs.. its very good!! i like the fact they removed the talking animals too..etc!!

I never said it it involved piccolo. I said Roshi explination did NOT involve Kami, like in this movie. In this movies sequal, which will take place in Dragonball Z, they will explain that the dragonballs were created by Kami, like in the anime.
BTW, the fact that they took out the talking anime is actully onr of the changes I do not like, LOL.

I know you havnt said picoolo, but in the trailer it says and we know thats picoolo in the spaceships... thats why they speak about that prophecy bullshit!!
For me the talking animals are only a cartoon typicall stuff, and not material for a live action.. but that is only a relative oppinion by my part..lol
Im ok with changes, but only if they kept the origins!! Imagine Vegeta being a pussy like Goku in the next movie?? Its not the same thing.. characters are what DB trully is!!

Like I said, this is only what Master Roshi "believes." If the sequal follows the anome, meaning Dragonball z, the whole prophacy thing won't matter, because they will eventully find out it's not true. It doesn't matter what Roshi's legend said in this movie, as long as the true origin is the right in the next. And once again your assuming Goku is a pussy, wait for more before you say that. As for the animals, I'm going to have to act like you for that one, LOL. I want talking animals!

But i can not accept that Goku... or the missing characters like kuririn or Tien!!
Unfortenelly it was already said by FOX that Goku is going to be different... he only have a "touch" of the original personality!! his storylife is all messed up too!!

I can definitly understand that you are dissapointed that some characters are missing, I am too. But thats what's sequals are for. But for Goku, like I said, none of us can say for sure how he will act. I will say this though, I have seen pic of of this movie of Goku doing stuff that is very much like his character in the anime, like carring a ton of heavy luggage and being happy to it and Goku eating a large turkey leg. That is very Goku like.

Look neo i respect ur opinion of this film but hey u just look at the title. Evolution, the creators are trying to do something different for a change. There not trying to make DB live action, they are trying to try something new.
For example the new batman movie, they killed Two-face in his first day of becoming evil. Now is that really what happend in the comics? No, but the writers and directors arent trying to follow the exact story, but try a few new things with the Batman character.

Please, do not compare Batman to this!! First of all the comics\cartoons are way different from manga\anime!! Anime storys are much more deeper... Plus Batman had amazing actors to play the characters and definetly it is not some disney pop-culture movie!! they take batman seriously and the same thing we cant say about this DB movie... I can understand the people that are looking to this as an "evolution", BUT even the new story is not original...

Correct me if im wrong but this movie is costing more than 100m to make, im sure there trying there best to make this movie succeed.
And hey they have James Marsters playing piccolo, which he also plays Brainiac in Smallville.
Look i know that u are disappointed that they didnt entirly stick to the original, but look in the bright side. They atleast have goku turning to an ape (meaning he is a saiyan in the film), they have piccolo vs goku, ki blasts, flying and fighting, and kameha.

Yes they have 100millions... BUT special effects are not everything!! The whole concept of the DB is gone... That movie does not have what DB really preach!!
Plus the new story they make is not even original... bad rips from heroes, transformers and a copy from the spiderman main character personality!!
I do not see my hero Goku in that movie...

Effects aren't everything? This is based on an anime whose core element of plot was mindless badass action with gigiantic explosions, super speeds and energy waves :\
If anything, this isn't a mockery, it's an improvement. Stop treating DB like it's sacred. It's not even that great of an anime. Classic, sure, but for even a PERFECT adaptation, would be far from getting an Oscar nod :\
Just be grateful that a movie is being made at all, let alone one with such a budget.

DB is sacred... DB is godlike, and yes anime storys such DB have deeper storys!!! you only saw a spikey hair dude that fights with monster guys... DB is much more like that!!! if you cant understand that, you can not be called a DB fan!! This movie an improvment??? you must be crazy dude!! They make a family movie for kids... A live action of DB must be taken seriously, an adults movie, with violent fights and a deeper story!! And with decent characters..

I've been a fan of DB since I was in 7th grade (now 21) and was once a rabid fanboy as well, but really...it's cool and all, but anyone who says it has any kind of depth is kidding themselves :\
And, family movie? Okay, I know they cursed a lot more in the original dub and all, but this really doesn't seem as different as you make it to be. You gots to open your mind! Think about why the screenplay would have made the changes they did. I assure you they were a good reasons. I'd do the same.

This DB trailer its an insult to me..
yes it could be an average\good action movie, BUT it totally fails as a DB one... A pop family DB movie??? how in the world i can like that?? Whats next?? A death note movie like the highschool music one??
And yes DB is much more deeper than this DB evolution movie.. i can assure you that..lol
