I agree that Pavlova should've won bronze, but perhaps behind Carly & Zhang--for me, Khorkina was way over-scored on the bars and if she'd gotten two tenths less there, she wouldn't have medaled at all. I thought all of her other scores were fair. Personally, I preferred her gymnastics before she was anorexic looking.

Also, even with the superfluous step out, I think Kupets should've gotten over a 9.3 on her floor routine. It wouldn't have affected the end result for her very much, but still.

courtney's routine makes me cringe. dawes and ray always had beautiful, classy routines. why on earth did kelli hill let her get away with this? it makes us american's look horrible, when all the europeans and chinese have well choreographed routines

@lanpingpug They always praise the Chinese for the exceptional uneven bars and beam work, the Romanians for their consistency, and the Russians for their emphasis on difficulty. They may be biased towards American gymnasts but why wouldn't they be when one of them has a real chance of winning (and did win)? Not the best commentary, but they gave praise where it's due.

Not for the women they haven't. And people would be dumb to bash you for it, you're only asking a question! :) The Chinese, like the Romanians, are mostly about team currently. True, they won bronze in the AA here and in '08, but I personally don't think they deserved either.

no the Chinese aren't typically all around gymnasts. They are amazing on bars because of their flexibility and very daring on beam, but really aren't known for their power events. And people ARE dumb for bashing

everyone was like omg! the judges weren'ton at all for sometimes. they had scores too high and too low. i watched this i and love it. Khorkina is amazing i was like sad at the 2000 olmpics. but i am happy she got silver. patterson is very good at beam that really helped her.i like her routine and khorkina. and i didn't like the 3rd place floor girl. i 4got her name.. chiense. it wasn't enertaining. but i love you all.

Hehehe... I just love their unique choreography, and the traditional Chinese music really makes their routines stand out from the others. This, as well as Yang Yun's routine from the 2000 games, in particular are superb IMO.
