Just recently, I saw the touring production of THE LION KING at the Buell Theatre (the theatre was very beautiful) in Denver and was just totally blown away by how much effort went into making this wonderful show. Better yet, we got a backstage tour and it was very fun!
I've seen this a few times in London, and it's my favorite musical ever!! This song at the beginning always makes me tear up :') amazing vocals that really pull at my heartstrings!
Saw this a few years ago, the start ALWAYS gets to me, always have tears of joy, I'm sooo grateful that I got to see this, the costumes are fantastic and the musical is just brilliantly done! Well done to the cast and crew, hope the musical returns to Melbourne AU in the near future, what I wouldn't give to see this again <3 xoxoxox
I've seen it multiple times now... Broadway, London, Toronto (closed now) and the traveling version in Western Canada. Every time I've seen it, I've seen something new that I had missed previously.
i've seen it twice. it was the first movie my father took me to in my entire life. it has and always will be my favourite movie. i made my parents drive to portland to see it (the first time i went) it was the closest it came until last summer, it came to vancouver bc, and of course, it ALWAYS makes me cry. most powerful and enchanting thing i have and ever will witness. i plan on going many more times before i die
Does anyone have a clip from the broadway where Timon gets stuck in the waterfall scene? It was after the friends were trying to cross a river and he fell in
I'm doing the lion king this year and im SCAR!! and my friend is Zazu, were girls so we don't care, we fit perfectly in the roles..... GO LION KING!!! :D
I actually cried lol I never cry at anything but its just so clever, amazing and overwhelming couldnt help it. Could go and see it over and over and over. Thanks for posting!
This always makes me sad but happy I remember seeing it in london with my mum after my wife passed away. But now 2 years on I have moved on - I want this played at my funeral -
I well up with tears when i see these videos, it was the most amazing musical I have ever seen as it brought out the inner child in me again from when I was only 3 and watched the lion king over and over.
I went to see this show in London with the missus, and i was thinking omg the lion king, how wrong i was,it was FANTASTIC and would recommend it to everyone, the cast were brilliant and i will most definitely be going to see it again
just saw this amazing broadway show yesterday for the very first time and i was blown away! the opening is my most favorite part of the show! when the sun rose and the giraffes walked while they sing the beautiful song, strong emotions just rushed in that i started tearing up! :*) cant wait to watch it again
This show is quite the most spectacular, breathtaking thing I've ever seen! It is incredible! The costumes are astounding..your eyes knows you're looking at people, but your mind sees animals! I literally sat on the edge of my seat, totally spellbound. If you get the opportunity to see this, ever, please do go! Amazing. Thank you for posting this.
I saw this with my high school a long time ago and my mum had always wanted to see it so I pulled a few strings and spoke to some teachers, and they allowed her to come as a 'supervising parent'. :) She nearly cried when I told her the news.
@jasmined799 I think it's the overlong fingers, lol. But I think she has one of the coolest appearances in the show, all shamanistic and mystical, it's awesome.
@Jenckles Believe me when i first saw it i was freaking crying my eyes out by the time Rafiki sung the first note, and that elephant is really huge up close i was like "How did that get through the door?"
What bullshit when the uploading thinks we want to look at his comment bubbles.....post a video...leave it alone. Great video, why feel the need to spoil it with a comment?

@divamama110 The show is going to be in Toronto from April - June if that helps? And it IS amazing, the most beautifully choreographed broadway show I've ever seen!
i cant amagen all the pratice it had to take to get this right with the puppets and the lighting the backdrops and the singing it self lol but i love this movie and the song is great on theatre i think it was a good idea to put it on theatre
Just over four years I went to see this when I was pregnant with my daughter, throughout the performance she kept dancing through all the songs she liked and i promised she could see it as soon as she turned four ( the minimum age). This year we'll be seeing it at the end of May, I can't believe how fast the times gone, i've been looking forward to this for years.
does anyone know if you can buy this somewhere? on tape, i mean.. or even better, watch it online? if you know, please, please answer! i've been looking for it for so goddam long, but i can't find it anywhere.. and i really want to see it with this cast!
Oh yeah, seeing this show is what we did on our one year anniversary. On the way, dressed to the teeth, we blew a tire. A very good friend came and changed it for us and we made it in time. We had balcony seats. My favorite parts of the show, though they just can't be taken out of context, were Rafiki and the drummers!
my best friend is kenyan, when we went to see this together she cried through the whole show, when i asked her why, she said because it made her homesick, awww bless :) x
I actually did some research. They appear to be singing in mixes of Swahili, Zulu and Xhosa. The last one is pronounced either Khosah, or *tongue click*osa. Depends on if you can do the click. It's mainly in Xhosa.
@InsaneCabbit92 i have frinds in ths show and there are some great clips of them doing the click singing on youtube, just look for west end christmas lion king they are amazing and there is also a clip of the girl who plays shenzi the female hyena she is on here singing as suzy snowflake also at west end christmas
@beautifullytragic1 there are actually a lot of word there are just in a different langue but i get you it is amazing! when i saw it i knew everything that was going to happen but i still gasped and clapped and shouted. Amazing truly a work of art so much more than just lions
I have seen Beauty and The Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, In The Heights, 1001 Arabian Nights, Cirque De Soliel, Cats, but Lion King is the best theatre experience you will ever have!!!
The least they could've done is teach her how to pronounce the words correctly considering how many South Africans live in London. She opens the show for crying out loud. SMH.
Am I right in saying the woman playing Rafiki is still in the show? I went and saw the show in June and I swear that it was the same woman. Could be wrong, but it sounds and looks a bit like her, even under all that make up. lol
Either way, doesn't matter too much. All that matters to me is how bloody amazing this show was. Really want to see it again asap!
I cried during this. One of the reasons were that I've been traveling to New York twice (i live in denmark), and both of the times has me and my family tried to get tickets but both of the times, they've been completely sold out. missed the chance twice. second reason is cause it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
i can't ever see this without crying! this was the happiest few hours of my life when i saw this live - so beautiful and touching. i <3 when the sun is riding and the 2 giraffes amble across and you just see their silhouettes, and when the 3 zebras prace in tossing their noses in the air. and of course the elephant - slow and strong and noble.
BEST Show i have ever SEEN. when i went to watch it with College it inspired me a lot & it was better than this not saying that this is shit, it was on a next level though i think it was 2007

I cried during this. One of the reasons were that I've been traveling to New York twice (i live in denmark), and both of the times has me and my family tried to get tickets but both of the times, they've been completely sold out. missed the chance twice. second reason is cause it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

Yea they're saying:
There is a lion and a tiger
Yes this is a lion and a tiger
And it repeats that for a bit
It does say siyo nqoba in one bit which means we're going to conquer

i can't ever see this without crying! this was the happiest few hours of my life when i saw this live - so beautiful and touching. i <3 when the sun is riding and the 2 giraffes amble across and you just see their silhouettes, and when the 3 zebras prace in tossing their noses in the air. and of course the elephant - slow and strong and noble.
its just amazing :')
